my fungal acne was rarely itchy and all skin colored bumps beneath the skin (all papules - no pustules). these bumps didn't budge for years despite every traditional bacterial acne treatment you can think of (i tried them all and even went to the dermatologist for prescription strength stuff - had no effect). I finally realized it could be fungal and started putting every anti-fungal product on my face that I could purchase (yeast infection cream and ointment, athlete's food cream, jock itch powder spray, and anti-dandruff shampoo as a cleanser and mask). It's been only a week of using these products and almost all of the bumps are gone. my fungal acne looked a lot like the comedonal acne in this video but it was fungal.
Thanks for this comment. I'm dark skinned and it can be hard as these videos doesn't show dark skin like what I have. I have been consistently washing my face and using topical treatments for about 6 months now with ZERO results. Bought Selsun dandruff shampoo yesterday. Gonna use it for two weeks and if I still see no results, I'm 100% going to the derm because I can't play this game no more 😅
I remember having comodonal acne. I got frustrated. I scraped it. I got acne scarring for few years but it went away. Now, I have ok skin, I don't do much skin care.
Fun fact- Fungal acne is not really a form of acne. It's actually a form of folliculitis. But this simplified version is very informative. Great video!
Okay so, I’m a 17 year old female who has never had a skin care routine ever. I get bumps underneath my skin on my forehead that don’t really itch but they get pus in them whenever I try to squeeze them and they hurt sometimes. It’s only on my forehead and I don’t know what it is or how to treat it. I’ve tried pimple patches and they don’t work, and the only skin care products I’ve used are the CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion and the CeraVe gentle skin cleanser. I haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin after using them
Hey! I also suffered from this problem for so many years and it covered my whole face slowly and I have tried everything but it never went away but now I have found a proper cure for my acne . So I suggest use any cream or gel which has benzoyl peroxide and clindamycine in it. I used Aclind BP 2.5 % composition (I'll suggest you to use it :) ) and yeah don't forget to do the patch test , it is important and if your skin is good to use it then apply it only on effected area and leave overnight ( don't massage or apply too much ) and wash your face with normal water in the morning and don't use any other cosmetics on your face for now . Also after application it can get a little itchy so give it 10 - 15 minutes it will stop burning but if it doesn't then rinse it off immediately and don't use it.
I’m going through this exact same thing. Never did skincare before now. Dealing with stubborn forehead acne. I’ve been using Cerave renewing SA cleansing and benzoyl peroxide (Oxy 10) but it feels like it’s getting worse 😢 Please what can I do?
I've had comedonal spots for years now, i never really bothered treating it since it was quite minimal and only around my eye area, but going to try salycilic acid now and see if theres any results.
if it's only around the eye area, it could be milia. the ordinary glycolic acid toner is the best treatment for this (don't use every day - use 2 or 3 times per week). this stuff is only like $7 I believe and the ordinary is now available at sephora and ulta :) it used to be online only.
So I have has these small bumps on my cheeks and I’ve had them for a few years now I have tried to get rid of them but I don’t really know what they are. mine are under the skin and sometimes red they don’t itch but are super annoying. I also have them on my arms and when I asked a dermatologist they say it’s because of dryness so I started moisturising every night and morning nothing is working what should I do??
You can do both. Ketoconazole shampoo can ve used on the face safley. And it's the msot accessible way to get it. But there's several products that contain salacylic acid like shampoo, conditioner, leave on hair treatments, facial cleansers and leave on facial serums. Personally i like Nizoral for my hair which has ketoconazole and the Paula's choice 2% salacylic acid liquod for my face. I use it every day or every other day paired with the CeraVe Resurfacing tetinol serum and it works wonders.
@@crunchevo8974 I appreciate it ! I just started washing my face and hair in the shower with nizoral and Paula's choice 2% after ward and it's been going great so far
Um don't determine this yourself or come up with a treatment plan yourself. See a dermatologist. They literally spend over 10 years to know the difference between skin conditions. Thanks but I looked at some other videos so so you put the shampoo in your face or in your hair
Ketoconazole may contain hepatotoxic side effects though
Only if you take it orally. Applied topically from an anti-dandruff shampoo on your skin isn't going to get absorbed much in the bloodstream.
