    My start date at ATP is July 29 at KGKY, so these videos really help put into perspective what it is I am going to be learning and doing. Thank you so much Luke!

      Hey man I'm in talks with Admissions and they're asking for a $995 deposit before selecting a start date. Other than reserving a start date, what else would that get me? (Maybe the headset/goodie box of shirts, books, etc.) or does it just reserve my date? Thanks!!

    • @ODST3826

      @@brysonmorrow6980 It reserves your class date, and you will get uniforms, a backpack, and study materials in the box. (No headset included, you must furnish yourself)

    nice videos Luke! I plan on starting ATP next year in Tampa! Did you take out a loan to cover the expenses? Also, I have researched many flight schools (some being relatively cheaper than ATP), what made you decide on ATP?

    • @FlyWithLukeD
      @FlyWithLukeD  Месяц назад +3

      I did not take out a loan but most people do through Sallie Mae. I decided on ATP for a few reasons. It seemed like they could get me through the program fast - and they have so far. There was a location near where I live. And they have good marketing 😂. I should've done more research probably but it hasn't been too bad so far.
      Don't think there is one right option for everyone though as far as a flight school.
      Thanks for watching my videos!

      I am 23 there but definitely don't feel old compared to most people at my training center. The instructor I flew with yesterday is 35 and has four kids. He decided to go for it after 12 years selling mortgages.
      There are a lot of people in a position similar to his. If you can commit and it's what you really want to do, I say do it!

    Hi Luke, thanks for the great content. I have a question regarding timeline. I did my Private in a professional setting similar to ATP, but I completed it in 21 days. We flew twice a day and studied when the weather was bad we had ground school between flights. I’m currently looking for a school for my GF to attend, however as she is a foreign student she can’t afford to spend 3 or 4 months there for her Private. Is that pace set by the school, instructor availability, aircraft availability, or by you? Thanks again for the informative content

    • @FlyWithLukeD
      @FlyWithLukeD  Месяц назад +2

      @@AMB955Bosbok wow! The pace is determined by the school ultimately. They have a fast pace but having the right instructor and weather are probably the two next biggest factors. I was able to finish my private in about 10 weeks but some students took 3-4 months for various reasons.

    Hey man looking into starting at atp in September I’m 25 recently married and wanted a career change but don’t have 3 years to take to become a pilot. How much has weather affected your flying so far I know the cost is crazy when you aren’t flying a lot or so I have heard.

    • @FlyWithLukeD
      @FlyWithLukeD  Месяц назад

      @@xckj3776 well the cost for the flight training at ATP is pretty much a fixed cost so the only way weather would affect price is that it just makes the training go on longer so you just have to keep paying living expenses before making an income again. Hopefully that makes sense
