CHP Motor Officer Retires

SENIOR MOTOR OFFICER RETIRES. Dear Senior Motor Officer Tom Maguire; We love ya and will be sad to see you go but we’re also so very happy for your retirement today sir. The California Highway Patrol would like to thank you for your 24 years of service to the people of California. After serving your country in the United States Navy, you attended and graduated from the CHP Academy in 1996. After your first duty assignment at Dublin CHP for two years, you transferred to Contra Costa CHP in 1998, where you became a MOTOR Officer, and have proudly called CoCo your home for the past 21 years.
It’s been an honor and a privilege working with you sir. Thank you for your hard work & dedication to this Department and your loyal service to the people of California. We here at Contra Costa CHP & all the CHP officers you’ve worked with throughout your career, wish you a safe and happy retirement brotha. MARY-1, you are now 10-10. 1998 to 2017 must have been so much fun in the sun as a motor officer.. you had my dream-about job. I made it 17 years in law enforcement, but in the wintery mid-west. Maybe my next life I'll get what I always wanted.. haha. Best of luck in your retirement and enjoy that beautiful weather!

Don't taxpayers get a say in all the money spent for 1 person retiring?? Get the guy a dam cake or something but for all the wasted man hours for that is ridiculous. I'm sure they were on the clock too

Wrong, every one of the officers was off duty just got together for this, now the cake you’re talking about I assume at a place of work like yours usually all folks eating cake are on the clock
