Chad here. I’m the first video. You nailed it! The problem was the camera lens somehow worked itself loose over time. Thankfully a quick fix! Appreciate the help. Btw- I use your Tunes on my 5”, 6” and Phantom 2.5”. So smooth. Excellent work! Oh… and it’s a 5s battery. Still need to run the numbers and see if I can handle 6s
I posted this on one of JB's old videos but I don't expect he'll respond to me, I'll post it here too cause you've helped me a lot in the past and this video came up when I was searching fly aways. I was flying in heavy wind, like 30-40mph, the quad had performed great during the flight with no apparent issues, but when I went to land and went to like 10% throttle my quad said nope and took off. I was able to recover it by pitching into the wind more and it seemed fine with that, and ultimately was able to land it pushed over at about 40 degrees and then disarmed once I was able to wrestle it close to the ground, but if I tried to flare at all it would go crazy again. Air mode was turned off, cause it had flown away before after arming and I put it on stock pids, I had it on higher multiplier before. The frame is really noisy and home built so I guess I just need to lower all my pids rather than raise them? It seems fine in normal flight now though without wind. I guess the wind was causing the quad to oscillate in ways it couldn't predict and feeding back into the pid loop, but I don't know what to lower or raise to stop it from doing that. I raised the I term and in calm wind it seemed to be more stable and responsive, but not sure if it will have this problem in the wind again, or if that will make it worse. I have the blackbox for the flight but I can't determine where it happened just looking at the traces, it seems normal to me, the setpoint never seems to be wrong which it clearly was, or what I should change to stop it from happening again.
I'm new to elrs myself but I found out it has binding issues if you plug in the quad before the transmitter because the receiver goes into wifi mode so turn everything off then turn on transmitter first then plug in the quad then it should bind
Def alot of good info I'd like to see more of this I also have a 4 inch quad with 2004 3000kv motors on it running 6s when I throttle up I get some weird shakes flies good but Def some issues there
@turionb1408 Decrease TPA, check mechanical issues, and - in my very weird case - the AIO was not properly grounded and a grommet was slightly torn creating continuity between the frame and motors only at high throttle, which in turn sent the gyro into a fit.... 😳😳😳
Source one v5 had some QC issue with the arms in the crossplate. Mine were terrible causing a ton a wiggle in the arms when tightened. I would check thay first.
To the guy with the ELRS binding issue, make sure both your radio and module and receiver are all updated, grab the latest lua script. Then Go into the script on your radio and then do the three plug method on your quad and it should start double blinking and when you get that just hit bind in the lua script and it will start single flashing slowly. Power cycle both your quad and radio and it should bind right up and away you go.
Is setting your PWM-Frequency to 16 for "low" and by-RPM for "high" not a thing anymore or did I just totally misunderstand when to do that? ^^ thanks for all your work, Mark!
I recenty got simmilar issues. Traying to deal with it by myself. What I did was replacing 1103 motors to 1408 in my 3" quad. Then I put on in T3x3x3 instead of orginal T3x2. I got a lot of power on very poor, unstiff frame, much lower rpm, a lot of modulated noise around 200hz. When I set more throttle, it's becoming smooth. Clearly need to go back to old props T3x2 or buy more stiff racing frame...
Holуbro Tekko 32 sometimes cuts out the rear left motor and drops at a voltage of 3.8 volts per can, on batteries for 4s, then it flies normally 10 times on the same battery up to 3.3 volts, then it drops again 11 times and again the same motor, changed the motor, but it did not help, it flies normally for 6s, sometimes the ESC does not play a melody when connected, it already loses when it is repeated, the batteries are good, the resistance is 4. What could be?
Hello, How are you? I would like to have a little help with a issue with my 3" quad that I build. It has a little shake during flights, it is really quick and one-off, like, It does a little shake and then flyes ok. Then after 10-15 seconds, do It again. I thought It could be current problem so I resoldered the wires of the capacitor and It get a little better, but still have It. Is there any plataform that I can share the videos and blackbox and we could chat? I would appreciate a Lot your help! Thanks in advance and Sorry if I bother.
To the guy who has the flutter issue: There's a chance that something might be wrong with your ESC. I've had something very similar happen on a Skystars AM32 ESC. Firmware upgrades, ESC tweaking, and capacitor changes didn't fix it for me. Finally, I just replaced the whole Skystars stack with a Holybro stack with BL32 and no more flutters on stock BF. I've read in a forum that other people have problems with AM32 based ESCs.
Hi Mate, at the begining you are saying that cables should be checked if they are not touching gyro and FC. Does it mean that cables soldered to the FC should be routed above the FC and let's say, ziptie to the top plate? I mean if they can lay on the FC if they do not touch the gyro or each cable which touches the FC will cause some gyro noise?
@@uavtech I do not have any shakes but I have huge noises in blackbox when arming the quad. I also can not tune my drone according to the YT videos because my logs differ from what I see for other people. I have bought Quadmula Siren F5 Split and it is so noisy that I am freaking out. All screws are tight, motors are tight, I even soft mounted VTX and it is still not good. People set D Gains to 0.8, I have to set 1.3 to avoid overshoots...
hi mark, the last case of hot motors, is there any chance it could be also coming from the filter settings? or this issue is purely esc firmware and PID?
Brother I need help Please! i have a 3.5 in quad that was working perfect until i crashed it and broke a motor. i replaced the motor but now the quad acts like i have the motor output limited to 10% . it will arm and it followes the sticks like rocking it back and forth or side to side with the sticks. i have checked everything. all is set right. but no mater how much throttle i give it it is not enough to take off from the ground. i have re flashed everything and tried older versions. checked the esc's in blhelisuit. nothing makes any difference. Do you have any idea where to start> have you ever seen this before? Please help! By the way i build quads for the public so i know what im doing. but this one has me stumped. im to the point of just randomly changing parts. i thought maybe the new motor was weak and the Fc was dumbing down the other motors to match the week one so i took it off and it still does it. it never tries to freak out or anything all seems correct.
Since you said this, it makes me wonder: "i thought maybe the new motor was weak and the Fc was dumbing down the other motors to match the week one so i took it off and it still does it. " I would have thought the new motor was dragging down the rest due to the PID loop keeping everything stable. I would run up each motor in Betaflight configurator and look at the RPM values on each. I would think one of them is not getting up to the full throttle RPM like the others. Maybe an ESC issue?
Tango2 can't provide enough power for ELRS module. It can be work 50mw power only - and without cooler .... also we have the upgrade kit power board for tango2 - the best way to handle it

To bind elrs turn on radio first then plug in battery

Hot motors could definitely also be a lack of filtering.. Filter Sliders to the Right or(less) increase motor heat but can improve performance.. 👍👍
