Well, I tried method 1 and now I'm back to around 55-60% RAM usage, so thanks!

Thanks so much @MDTechVideos ! I have 32GB of memory and my PC was using 95 - 99% all the time. I used both methods, resarted my PC and now it's down to 10 - 15% usage. You're my hero!
Mate, you're a lifesaver, even an year later. With me, all I did was delete 4 and put another 4 again, restart, then switch off the Windows Defender service, restart and there you have it. SysMain (Superfetch) service is still running, but I have a solid 33-34% RAM, it's no longer a 100%, neither does it rise gradually to 100%.
@@TheeSherminator the usual culprit is Windows Defender, especially if you haven't renewed it, and it's just sitting turned off. So I switched 4 for 4, disabled both Defender and Update, restart, and all was right. After that, since I disabled Windows Update, I just downloaded the custom Updater programme from Microsoft's page to use for updates. After a month/two, an update was on, so I updated my PC, and after I put it on, I saw both Windows Update and Windows Defender services running, but my RAM was still perfect - neither at a 90-100%, nor gradually rising to it.
@@TheeSherminator So yeah, if you, for some reason, can't turn off Windows Defender, go with Windows Update, remember to have SysMain (Syperfetch) turned on, turning that off maybe a solution, but after a couple of months, your PC might start to permanently suffer without it. This worked beautifully for me! Totally fixed my issue thank you man!.. One thing for everyone tho. Since doing it, when you update windows, some updates WILL change the value back to 2. So if all of a sudden your memory is locking up after an update, you have to do this again. @@basicnoob3832 actually , it disables some windows 10 components like cortana and search bar , I also do it because I m desperate my laptop is slow but i realizes my cpu fan inside my laptop maybe cannot run efficiency maybe because of dust
These are windows 10's services, only this. You can disable them, nothing will happen. 2 means that the service is setup to automatic (it will start together with windows) and 4 means that the service is disabled. Disabling will make your pc turn on faster and make it run smoother. THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR OTHER SERVICES, they can be essential to windows 10 and doing so can make your pc "act strange".

wtf man, this was working for a week, now its back to how it was. wtf is windows doing with 16 gigs of ram idle, i did all of your steps and i rechecked it and they are still what you said to change it to. It is a little different now, before i did all this in your video the second i loged on it woudld be 50-65% used, now it slowly builds up over time like after about an hour or two to 50% use, even with ever window closed
@@AtaGunZ my problem is mapped files takes up hella ram. if i restart my computer its only using 15%. but if i leave it on all day at the end it uses like 40% and if i leave it on even longer then it can go up to 95%. like wtf windows 10 shit is buggy. i have 8 as well but still using 90%
Method 1 still works to this very day (12/11/2020)
Thank you so much!
Also, don't forget to restart your computer when you do either of these methods.
You're welcome!
I'm just wondering what does the regedit method actually do when you change the number from 2 to 4
same
Yea, it can damage im worring about it
I guesss it divides the current ram usage used by start from divided by 2 to divided by4
@@basicnoob3832 actually , it disables some windows 10 components like cortana and search bar , I also do it because I m desperate my laptop is slow but i realizes my cpu fan inside my laptop maybe cannot run efficiency maybe because of dust
Superb advice. It worked perfectly after restart of my PC and this was the pain for me past few weeks and couldn't figure out how to solve. Thank you a million. Cheers.
Glad it helped
Thanks for the help! Even though I had 16GB of ram it always said it used around 60-75% of my ram. Thanks once again!
You're welcome!
You are my savior! After a long time searching, with tons of useless answers, especially from microsoft themselves, who cleary have zero clue about anything... I met you, a few minutes spent here and I can go back to my everyday life :) Thanks!
Honestly clicking on this I was half expecting "get more ram ya dummy" and that's it
Omg the 1st method worked! Thanks man! I'm really frustrated when my memory usage goes 99% on startup while having a 16gb ram i can't even access youtube without having lags
Glad it helped
that's very interesting... 16 ram and still high usage? Maybe you have a low grade graphics card because usually, even if you have 16gb ram you can carry an i3 processor and still play games with no problem whatsoever. Do you have like ddr2 or ddr3 ram?
@@bakerhalt i have ddr4 i7 8th gen, i was really confused why did that happen to my pc, i even have rtx 2070 that's why i got really frustrated that even youtube lags so i searched every thing for solution in my phone because browser is also lagging in my pc.
@@NoVisionGuy has your problem been fixed because with aforementioned specifications there is a slim chance of bollocks like lagging browser to happen, if this is still happening go to your task manager and press more details, what rises the most CPU, Memory, or Disk? If it's memory it's probs RAM, but you have amazing ram so it could be maybe your hard disk or Main Power Source?
@@bakerhalt memory was the only problem occured so it was all ram problem. the 1st method in this vifeo worked for me as i changed the digit "2" - "4" in reg edit
I did this, and it seems like it might have worked so far, but can you tell me what these settings actually do?
Jacob Martin
Jacob Martin need to know as well
Im curious as well
Well i am not an expert but this Ndu (ndu.sys)it's a compressed file and i think it means Windows -Network Data Usage- Monitoring Driver and number 4 stand for 'disable' and 2 for 'enable'. I am not 100% sure about that, it's the info i know .
The NDU is a network communication driver. Sometimes it prevents your RAM from being flushed completely.
From 53% to 18% usage. Thanks a lot man. Cant believe it worked this day. Both method used
You're welcome!
Omg, god bless you man, you helped me a lot!! Hope you grow even big on RUclips and bless you and your family❤️❤️

whenever one of my devices start breaking and i have to resort to youtube tutorials they usually never work, but this is actually one of the times they work and omg thank you sooo so much
I love getting new desktop with 16 gigs only for it run for two hours and then memory max out.
I have same problem on my other pc, but my better pc has so much better parts so it doesnt max
I think the best way to save ram is by:
1. Go to settings
2. Go to privacy
3. Go to 'Background apps'
4. Switch the 'Let apps run in the background' off.
It saved like atleast a gigabyte of ram for me.
I have 4 GB ram.

Still watching this video😂😂...
Who is like me here??
same bro the thing that i hate that is have 650mb available ram only
I am having only 63mb left 😂

wtf man, this was working for a week, now its back to how it was. wtf is windows doing with 16 gigs of ram idle, i did all of your steps and i rechecked it and they are still what you said to change it to. It is a little different now, before i did all this in your video the second i loged on it woudld be 50-65% used, now it slowly builds up over time like after about an hour or two to 50% use, even with ever window closed
Me too. It went back to previous Ram usage!
