I;ve used a ton of different headsets. From the Corsairs HS80, and the Virtuoso, to the Roccat Elo Airs, and I can honestly say this headset is the best one I've used hands down. Comfort, build quality, sound quality. It's all there. Grab a set of Wicked Cushins and it will make them even better(If that's possible)
I've been thinking of getting the hs80 wireless solely for the sick mic, but I heard the mic picks up everything that goes on in the background. Now I'm torn between the two, this one or the hs80. I don't fancy the mic quality on this one bcs the clarity isn't comparable to the hs80. So what'd you suggest? I mainly wanna have a wireless headset for listening, and videocalling/calls on discord etc, and maybe record some gameplay. I do prefer a better sound too. If the arctis is better in more departments than the hs80 then I think I might settle for the arctis.
@@saikik.5319 Haven't gotten either yet, still pretty pricey atm so I'm kinda waiting for a sale of some sort. But I'll most likely get the hs80, unless a newer better headset appears with sick mic quality 😭
hey there! Do we need to plug a usb-c thingy in the device to be able to connect the headset to the device? Or is completely Bluetooth and no additional item is needed to connect the headset to the device?
At 0:44 you say there's a 'micro USB port for charging the headset' but all the info I've seen elsewhere says it's USB C charging. Even the manual on their website says it's a 'mobile cable jack' and charging is USB C. Please advise as this is a major factor of influence for buying these headphones
That is actually a proprietary connector for 3mm, they used that in the past. The cable is not provided anymore, but the connection is still there in case you have an old cable. Charging and updating firmware are both through USB C.
I hate the fact you have to use software to use the chat mix now. The old way of just having two channels in Windows was so much better. So I ended up returning and buying the originals, now the originals got a update that delete the two channels as well. -_- Damn steelseries.
That's so messed up. That was honestly the best part of the Arctis 7 imo. It was so nice to have game audio seperate from chat audio, as it makes it super easy to set up split audio in other programs like OBS. I almost considered picking up a pair of these refreshed headphones until I read your comment... What an absolute shame.
I don't like how the ChatMix don't work without the Steelseries Engine, unlike the old Arctis 7 which works without the engine, letting you tweak the sound channels through windows instead. I've had problems where the engine stops working and in turn the ChatMix stops working. On a side note; the wireless signal on the 7+ is far more susceptible to be disrupted. I never had this issue with the old Arctis 7.
Interesting because on my Arctis 7+ I am able to go downstairs to my kitchen in the pantry and still hear game and chat better than my old Arctis 7. They both have very similar range but the 7+ is just a tad better
Does anyone know how to connect this version to a smart TV wirelessly? I put the usb with dongle on the TV’s USB but nothing happens and theres no way to pair it with my Samsung smart TV
Q… I just got the 7+ headphones and it seems you can’t use them on a diff profile on my Xbox? I got them for myself and my son but only one of us can use them.?? Any info about this ?
My huge question is the hinges near the ear muffs . Every headset I have owned with plastic hinges have broken over time . Last pair I had I use PVC cement too reconnect the hinge. I have been gaming with Astro A40 almost 5 years now . There built with no plastic on the hinges . I know players not big on wired headsets but I never need too charge them, I can sit at least 8ft away from my 60 inch Bravia TV
I've used all kinds of headsets, currently been on Arctis 5 for atleast 2-3 years now, i had to buy a new cable cause it got bent some how but otherwise been high quality!
my arctis 5 ive had since 2018 still works headset is still fine. white color has faded to this ugly yellow nonsense so i don't recommend white color other than that the headset has worked fine. hinges are still solid
Does the mic cancel out background noise? Like for instance my buddy has his TV playing in the background, and im always hearing whatever sport or tv show is on. Lol
Since this model is not bluetooth, you'd have to use the dongle to connect to a phone wirelessly, otherwise only using it wired. Arctis 9 is bluetooth compatible.
I just bought my arctis 7+. It is a constant echo of my own voice within the earphones. This is a "feature" but it is not possible to disable it. Don't buy the headset if you tend to move your head around or you will hear noise which your mic is picking up. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn the mic off with the button located on the headset. I wouldnt recommend this headset until this is fixed
I like the headset, including the steel band and the supporting band below it. The sound is great! BUT - the game sounds on some games goes in one year and chat in the other. I'm deaf in one ear, so all I can hear is the chat, forget locating footsteps. I was able to set my Xbox to have all sound go in both ears, which I shouldn't have had to do. The biggest problem with the headset, and I'll be replacing it ASAP, is the battery life. It lasts about 2 hours. You might as well just plan on playing with the set plugged into the charger. I'll be going back to Hyper X or Turtle Beach, which had GREAT battery life!
There’s definitely something wrong with your pair because the battery life in the ones that I have is like 3 days unless you play over 10h a day and you know you can enable mono audio from sound settings?
1st one battery broke down after a year and 2 months. 2nd one with an updated dongle, dongle broken down after 1 year and 2 months. Yes both exactly 1y and 2m on the exact day. 3rd headset.. yeah well replacement wont be a steelseries ever again. Wont spend money on a dongle this reeks too much like planned obsolescence/planned defect
7+ is not wireless with Xbox. You will have to plug the 3.5mm jack into the controller which will make it wired. The 7x+ finally adds Xbox to the wireless platforms. There are a couple of differences but to me this was the most noticeable
DO NOT BUY THE ARTICS 7!!!! After Daily driving for 2 years id say get another headset, Defiantly not a steel series, The app is doggwater causing more issues than anything, headset loves to be finicky with connection later in life, ive experienced crackling sound that does not disappear and there's no fix (seems to be a Steel series software bug) this headset has caused me so much pain in the sense its hard to just pick up and use. Sometimes headset doesnt wanna turn on, But the major thing was after 6 months this popping sound just appeared and hasnt gone away, tried it on 2 separate pc's. its a comfy headset and the sound is great but the app makes is so shitty and the lifetime of the product isnt that good DISLCAMER THIS IS ABOUT THE ARCTIS 7 NOT THE PLUS They could have fixed theses issues but if its a re-release I highly doubt it
