I listen to this so often...the arrangement is just stunning. It takes me to a world where nothing matters, just enjoying the nostalgia of playing Pokemon games. I appreciate your mention of Barcarolle as well!
This truly is the 8th national treasure, the 8th world wonder, and the best cover of a song. I've never been so moved before. This cover bridges the gap (for me at least) between happy and solemn so well that it gives me chills and ecstasy. This is a very, very professional composition.
OMG yes this is amazing! Its so accurate! you, sir, Have made me feel nostalgia again. Seriously, after hearing this, I cried for like an hour just thinking about the good times I had in my childhood and how I'll never get them back... I regret so much that I sold all my Pokemon games in the past... (lol I'm such a crybaby) all I can say to those who still have their Pokemon games from their childhood, please do not give them away or sell them. Even if you don't play the games anymore, it was still part of your amazing childhood no matter how you look at it. :) Really, this piece made me feel for Pokemon so much... Thank you, Dajwxp :)
+Shiny Rotom if you haven't tried emulating old games before, do give it a shot! ^^ it's semi-legal and overall awesome, haha. Thank you for the comment about accuracy! :) This track left very little space for me to cut corners and cheat, so I actually did most of the transcriptions for once. xD Glad to know that everything worked out in the end! ^^ I'm really sorry to hear that you sold your Pokemon games - it's funny, though, that we humans get sentimental over pixels on a screen, housed in cartridges that will eventually die out. That's the cool thing about nostalgia though: it doesn't make any sense, yet it's powerful. So I'm really glad you enjoyed this one, mate! :) There's a whole DPPt easy collection coming up soon, and it opens with Route 209! ^^ Hope that one can bring back some more memories for ya :)
I haven't played HGSS, but I can tell that you poured your heart and soul into your arrangement. I hope you continue arranging that connect with people of all ages. ☺️❤️
+Xero No "perfect" is far from what this is I promise, but I'm really glad you found one of your favourite themes in sheet form six hours after its release ^^ There will be more pokethemes to come for sure, hope you'll stay tuned for this too! :)
Hello, Daj. First of all, I'd like to compriment you for doing this awesome work. I've beeing watching all your videos, and honestly they are trully master pieces. Your arrangements are amazing! As a gamer pianist, I'm going to learn many pieces you've done, and this National Park is going to be the first one. I'm currently learning Cynthia theme (before battle) and damn, what a song! As soon as I can, I'll record a video of mine playing some of your pieces. I'm definitely going to share your youtube channel. Congratulations to you and to Deku!
+Rúlian Afonso (hey, only asians like me can say "compriment". Ahaha jk) Thank you for that heartwarming message, man :,). I wouldn't call my stuff masterpieces, and if were to ever sit down and chat about them I'm sure I could reveal lots of mistakes to you...but of course, I couldn't discount your opinion like that. It truly warms me to know that you love these arrangements to that degree, so thank you for that :) ...and for you to go out and share my channel - I'm truly humbled by that. You're awesome, man :) I've heard one recording of this arrangement so far, and it's pretty awesome! ^^ If you'd like, I could ask the guy who did them for learning tips for yourself, hehe. To be honest, I haven't tried this at full speed myself, so I don't have the fingerings and directions you need...but hey, case in point - if you'd ever like to commit to a recording of this, I'd be delighted, humbled beyond measure, and I'll do anything I can to support and assist you :) Many cheers, take care man!~
I'm going to learn this piece for sure. I remember when I played SS with my friend. We used to stay there at the national park and just listen to this epic song. The feels are real. I'll take some time to learn it, since it's reading is not that easy plus there are no fingering (I'll make my own). Could I ask for a favour? It would be cool if you could post your arrengements in mp3 (no intro and no ending piano).
Forever my favorite song in Pokemon history, perhaps because I too could recognize its genius in design and composition way back when I first played silver and gold. Your in depth analysis of this song was beautifully written and moving ✌❤
I had to comment on both videos, these tutorials absolutely blew me away. Especially the national park. This filled me with nostalgia. Ahhh, the memories. Thank you for bringing them back to me!! ~~
+Tyler Nguyen Nostalgia is exactly what VGM is about, and I'm really happy that you found some sentimental value in my little playbacks ^^ But thank you for your comment, man, appreciate it :)
+Nathan Lim It's without a doubt the hardest arrangement project I've ever done, so much so that I called this arrangement a project. XD So I guess I'm not too surprised that there aren't that many sheet music arrangements of this ultra-popular track about, hehe ;) Thank you for stopping by though, and it warms my heart to know that this version is up to standard! ^^ Hope you'll stay for more arrangements and mostly Pokemon tracks :)
+Daez Undoubtably so! :) It's just so complete in itself, and everything about it is beautiful~ Oh, and thank you for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed the show ^^
+Rony Waheibi I'm really happy that you've stayed to watch all of it, and even happier that you care about this little purpose I've got ^^ So thanks for all the support mate, appreciate it all :)
I listened to this yesterday until I fell asleep haha... This one along with the Route 47 theme, you should try that one too! Awesome job there, buddy, as usual!
+Hazel Hee There's a DPPt easy collection coming up soon too! ^^ And the first one's definitely Route 209 - just a heads-up there~ And thank you for your comment, as always :)
Day 1 of attempting it: Cadenza is easier than I thought, still have to get further, but those broken octaves could prove a little difficult to get right musically
in the second half of the 9th measure, theres a triplet thing which starts from E flat and goes down in minor tierces, you forgot it :( but still everything is accurate and i love it !
+Rúlian Afonso I know which part you're talking about, and I did purposely leave that part out haha. ^^; Reason being that, in technical terms, the flourish has a particular melodic tendency that doesn't match the next bar - basically, the flourish won't connect to the next bar properly. ^^; If you can find a way to connect it, I'd love to see/hear it! :) Glad you enjoyed it enough without that in place though! Hehe ^^
+Mario Jumpman Mario Three staves don't mean you need three hands! ^^ You just use pedal to hold the long notes while jumping to the other staff. So in the opening section the right hand takes the top two staves and in the next one, the left hand takes the bottom two staves. It's marked on the score with "m.d." and "m.s." respectively ^^ Writing in three staves is a last-resort option that lets performers have an easier time reading parts that would have been too crossy/too densely packed for easy reading. It has a nice theatric effect too - hands crossing over in an organised way looks great on stage. So yeah, hope this all makes sense :)
daj does VGM [Darren Ang] Wait... PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY PLAY THIS FREAKIN' ARRANGEMENT?! HOW?! IT LOOKS SO FREAKIN' COMPLICATED! If anyone out there can play this, you must be amazing at piano...
hello i really enjoy watching your videos and wanted to ask you how you create your sheet music. Are there any programs or do you have any advice for me how to start as a beginner, who never created music sheet in his life?
+Phoenix Nopal I'm considering that, and I'll be trying quite hard to do that! ^^ but there's no way around that introduction cadenza, and there's very little way around that final rhythmic section...so it's not a very easy job. :p There's a moderately challenging arrangement of the GSC National Park on NinSheetMusic now though, you might wanna check that out! ^^ Also, other RUclips channels have done National Park covers, and some of them even have live recordings of those. So yeah, those are your options for now. Hope it works out ^^
I listen to this so often...the arrangement is just stunning. It takes me to a world where nothing matters, just enjoying the nostalgia of playing Pokemon games. I appreciate your mention of Barcarolle as well!
I love the beginning. It has such a full sound

+Jiho Hwang

the romantic cadenza at the beginning always makes me shiver omg.

woahh really very nice siaa
+Ohla Ong
ahaha thank you, thank you :)
in the second half of the 9th measure, theres a triplet thing which starts from E flat and goes down in minor tierces, you forgot it :( but still everything is accurate and i love it !
I miss that too!! I'm gonna put that on my cover, just don't know how.

Glad you enjoyed it enough without that in place though! Hehe ^^
what do you mean by "it doesn't connect to the next bar properly" ? is it supposed to be played with two pianos?
Wait. I thought it was a piano solo. Why are there 3 hands there?
+Mario Jumpman Mario

Basically it's just written with 3 staves so it's easier to read instead of jumbling it all onto 2 staves
감사합니다!
thank you! I'm korean!
perfect..

hello i really enjoy watching your videos and wanted to ask you how you create your sheet music. Are there any programs or do you have any advice for me how to start as a beginner, who never created music sheet in his life?

got yourself a sub yo ❄️
Wow...
와 대박 좋다;;
"... be glad because it happened."
flashback... you cant be the pokemon champion with out spamming full full restores... *crying* shut it lance
Will you ever make an easy version of this song? I really want to play this song but I'm not at that skill yet.
+Phoenix Nopal
I'm considering that, and I'll be trying quite hard to do that! ^^ but there's no way around that introduction cadenza, and there's very little way around that final rhythmic section...so it's not a very easy job. :p

daj does VGM Ok thank you for the advice. 🙂
