An accomplished fingerstyle guitarist needs to have full control of his or her picking hand along with a complete knowledge of the guitar fingerboard. Peter Huttlinger provides you with the advice, practice routines and exercises that will enable you to play with good tone, strict timing and confidence.Pete makes this important topic fun for guitarists at all levels. He starts you off with more than a dozen picking patterns, each one using a different combination of thumb and fingers on various strings. These exercises create a solid foundation that will help you with every piece you play, regardless of style.Moving to the left hand, you'll learn arpeggios and the "spelling" of chords, as well as Pete's foolproof method for learning every note on the fingerboard. Chromatic scale exercises up and down the fretboard will work wonders for strength and agility in both your right and left hands. Finally, Pete puts all these exercises into practice with a bouncy bossa nova chord and rhythm progression and a gorgeous arrangement of a classical piece, "Romanza." This DVD will give you months of material to work on, and Pete's regimen will make you a stronger, better player.Review:"Sure, as a performer, Pete Huttlinger slays audiences with his mind-blowing solo arrangements and devastating chops. But he's also exactly the kind of guitar hero you want on your instructional shelf, because when it's time to talk technique, he downshifts into teacher mode with effortless aplomb. On Essential Exercises for Fingerstyle Guitar, Hutt generously and articulately shares his knowledge with all the patience, clarity, and encouragement you could ever hope for from a guitar sensei... The path to greatness lies here." - Guitar Player Magazine

Pete is not just an extraordinary talent; he is a gifted teacher. I would LOVE for him to co-teach an instructional DVD with Happy Traum. Happy, even when hosting, seems to be able to guide the artist to exactly what the student needs, and exactly where the student will stumble. This would be a terrific combination of talents.
Try Pete's other DVDs. John Denver and G Lightfoot are terrific, as are his practice DVDs...really helped my speed.

In case you want to put a tune to the chord progession - he's playing "Blue Bossa", by Kenny Bonham. Pg 51 in Real Book I, 5th edition
Amazing! Good job man!
1:34 sounds like something I'd do every once in a while. Either that or I'd forget everything I already know when it was time to show my chops.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool progression!!! At 2:10 he plays thru the whole thing.
Good video))
Haha I was trying to figure out where I've heard this progression before, and I remembered: look up Just Like You by Lecrae and it's almost this exact bossa nova chord progression--and a great song
@ESPViper100 never been to Brasil, have you, mate?
