Pete Huttlinger is one of those guitarists that are so unbelieveable at what they do, that their live performaces sound EXACTLEY like the recorded Version of the song. Bravo.
is his a classical guitar??i love that sound...it's like between a classical and an acoustic...can anyone says me the nature of that sound??=) and all the respect for pete...he is simply amazing...=) peace
My first time viewing of this virtuoso in performance. As a fingerstyle player I appreciate the superb technique and style Pete has developed. This level of musicianship doesn't happen overnight - it takes many years and thousands of hours of practice to perfect. Great playing! I will be searching for some of the teaching DVDs Pete has done...
@Daelmyth I saw him at Blvd Music in Culver City, CA in 2002 and he was awesome as well. SUPER nice guy, funny as hell. Awesome entertainer! I had met him previously at the 2000 Aspen Memorial for John Denver at a workshop he hosted. Fantastic instructor with tons of funny stories about his time with John.
agree 100% w/ the recording suggestions. I am a guitarist myself and a big stevie wonder fan as well. (saw him @ a winery a couple months ago) :) thx for the vid -mack
Llarion: Thanks for the comments. I will make sure that in future video work for Pete that I am careful to have more fretboard...seriously. Nice to know what people want... Cheers
Yes, Pete, Adam, and Tommy are friends. All the debate about the three of them just makes me laugh. They are all brilliant. I have never met Tommy, but Pete and Adam are both supremely cool people.
HAHAHAHAH! Love this intro! One of the most virtuoso performances and performers of our era... Note to video editor; Let the guitar do the talking. One shot is plenty for work like this; we want to see the fretboard, not manufactured sepia...
Thanks for reading , man... guitar wonks just want to see the playing; start with a static full shot for the intro, zoom it to where you were at about 1:30 as soon as he starts playing, and jkust leave it there for the rest of the song. You don't need to artificially create any sense of motion or do any cutaways at all, just capture the moment... Look at the one TrueFireTV put up of this song a while back; it has everything that needs to be there and no more... Thanks!

This version is the best, way better than Adam`s one.
What happened to the video where he told the story behind learning this, from a talk show and then he plays it without the crappy pickup?

this is awesome .. doesn't achieve the same groove as adam rafferty's tho .. but stil great
He comes across like a dog walking on his hinds legs saying, "Look at me!"
Really Good, but Check out Adam Rafferty.
why can't he just play and not talk? great version though! 5*
