That's just common sense that's ridiculous
They've been doing that at the i75 rest area in Michigan for over a decade. I don't drive up 75 I use 23 and I will never give them my paycheck
I live in the area what they do is wait for you to pass the rest area then pull you over than ask for you to go to the truck stop for safety !!!
I had this problem down in Texas actually a long time ago someone’s banging on my door went out to see. He’s like we’re gonna do an inspection. I said I’m out of hours and off duty. Good night. It’s closed curtain.😂
DOT has been doing this for a long time especially at truck stops that aren't fenced around the property doesn't make sense but I've seen this before at small truck stops on I35 in Texas between Laredo and San Antonio 🤦🤷
I can see it now.
The pilot gas station will soon put up private parking signs with a gate.
end of free parking 2026
Take em to court!
Driver should call police or FBI to arrest that policeman.
How do we know he was sleeping? How do we know or not know he was asked to move here for safety of the inspection? I mean we have a driver across the lot videoing and assuming. Is this accurate news?
I’ve seen this happen at the TA on I-85 Exit 4 in South Carolina. 4:19
i had a delivery in Newark new Jersey and stop at a rest area on i 95 and i was sleeping and dot kick all the trucks due maintenance .
I seen this in AZ mile marker 94 pilot same trooper that had pulled me over on mile marker 113 and violated me for my log when I sent it to ADOT they where mind boggled because my log was good I was running Verizon ELD at the time
How can they do that if you're off duty or on a break in The sleeper berth? I wouldn't even answer the door I never do anyways for anybody
Dot does inspections on ports in south Carolina
Does signs stating customer parking only create a restricted zone? All Sheetz parking lots are posted as such.
Some one should report this to transport department.
I think some truck stops have signs saying "no unauthorized vehicles" , and would like to see the law, thought they couldn't interrupt 10 hour break.
Lawless law !😤
I was waiting on a Walmart dc on a shoulder I had a officer wake me up for an inspection I passed he let me stay parked 🤔
If they think for one minute there going to inspect my truck while I’m off duty I’ll be going to jail
What did the driver do to get them to follow him in to the truck stop?
There's a truckstop in bald knob, ar off US HWY 67 freeway where a d.o.t. officer occasionally hangs out in the parking lot doung inspections. And texas, ohio, pennsylvania, west virginia & new york state are ALL KNOWN for occasionally doing d.o.t. inspection in their rest/parking/picnic areas!! STAY SAFE, READY & COMPLIANT MY FELLOW DRIVERS!!
I can see the DOT inspection happen if you are shutdown if you are at weigh station and maybe a rest area and maybe a a service plaza but not the private property of a truck stop
The Chevron Deal will definitely take some of these regulations down you just have to take it too court
Welcome to the Eastside. 🙏👍👀
Sometimes they setup inspection station in the truckstop parking lot's, i've seen them
Dot should not be allowed to do inspections in truck stop these are the money sucking leeches they should be kicked out from truck stops or the drivers should not fuel at those truck stops anymore
Thank you! Must be passed by congress.
In 1969 the gov. Went from regulation to total control! . They will send in fed dogs ! Make them sign your log book
The other question is, can a dot officer interrupt a drivers sleeper or off duty status to initiate a "stop" and perform an inspection??
This should absolutely not be going on this is a violation of our privacy and what if somebody didn't know that he was under there and they moved it's dangerous
That should be unconstitutional
Should be safehaven
