When at I worked at Wendy’s in the US in high school the taco salad came with chili. If it was served for dine in the chili was poured on the salad before serving it to the customer. If it was to go it got served in the small cup.
Wendy's only reopened in the UK within the last month or less after 21 years of absence a lot of places they have covered are only in London whereas Wendy's is opening around the country
Wendy's also do region exclusives. Where I live we have the Carolina Classic, which is a quarter-pound burger with chili, diced onions, mustard, and coleslaw.
Just for reference; here in the U.S., Wienerschnitzel also has a chili option besides Wendy's! And it also is really good if you get it with the onion option! 😋 Cheers!
True but I think they meant a nationwide/ widely available restaurant chain. Like you can go anywhere in the country and find like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King etc but there’s restaurant chains that are unique to certain regions/states like in-n-out, whataburger, etc
Former wendys worker here. There’s actually 5 drink sizes at American wendys. Large, medium, and small (for the meals, or biggie bag). Value or junior depending on what you call it (for the 4 for 4). And lastly the kids size (for the kids meals) it’s the little white cup used for small frosties.
When Harry and Joe share a meal, Carbs, fats, calorie counts they reveal. They taste, analyze Sugar, salt, portion size. In horror, both Yanks and Brits squeal!

the taco salad isn't just that container with lettuce/cheese... it comes with tortilla chips and a cup of chili and salsa and sour cream on the side. it's practically like two meals.

It is notoriously difficult to portion a soft serve ice cream to it's full capacity. The swirl of the machine often creates air gaps and it's difficult to stop the dispense at the right time

Considering there’s only 1 Wendy’s in the UK and it’s in Reading and the UK Insider Inc. Headquarters is in Shoreditch it would’ve been over an hour drive to bring it back to the offices to film. I'm in the UK and had a Frosty today and it’s just like the ones in the US. It had definitely melted by the time they started filming

I'm pretty excited for the plans to bring Wendy's to the UK. Those burgers look like a serious contender for my new regular fast food place but I'll have to see.
The quality is probably a little above McDonalds and Burger King, but way below Five Guys. But on the plus side, the prices are also better than Five Guys.
@Nick yeah, I never go to Wendy’s. My go-to is either In-N-Out, Five Guys, or Smashburger. These UK guys in the comments would have their minds blown if they had a Smashburger.
Wendy's also has a 20 piece nugget, baked potatoes, and a value and kid size drink size. Also the 4 for 4 no longer has the double stack and havent for two years, but we do have a 5 dollar biggie bag where it's a Bacon Double Stack, 4 nuggets fries and the drink.
I don't eat much fast food anymore but since I am from the same hometown as Wendy's they were our go-to place as a kid in the 70s and 80s. When you said "something called hot chili seasoning" it immediately took me back to childhood. Of course back then their menu was much smaller, but when we got chili we always got those packets of hot sauce to go with it. I'd sneak an extra one or 2 to put on a burger if I could. Wendy's might have been the first fast food place to have a sauce other than ketchup, now that I think of it.

This actually made me want to go to Wendy's again, so I looked at their menu and saw some really good specials. Now I haven't went there in over a year since the last 4 times I went before that they didn't have the specials at my local one (this was even before Covid) and when I went in again today, they were out of the specials. I give up. This was a good store locally until a new franchise owner took over about 4 years ago in my area and since then they never have the specials.

Uh. Nuggets also come in a 50 count in the US. Canada made a secret menu burger called the t-rex burger which was 9 large patties plus toppings. And there are more than 3 soft drink sizes in the US. Kids 10 or 12oz, Value/Senior 16oz, Small 20oz, Med 32oz, Large 40oz.
Their asiago chicken sandwich is my favorite fast food item ever. Also, Sonic and A&W also have chili. If they have Sonics in the UK you guys should totally do them
I don't know why I like watching food related videos, especially the time I always watch them which is always late at night. They always leave me very hungry after watching and I don't like it. But at the same time I find this very interesting and informative. ( at the time I am watching this it is 2 am and there is no food in the house other than cinnamon toast crunch and I already had 2 bowls an hour ago and I can't bear to eat another) If someone can relate to my dilemma please tell me how you put up with this, and mabye send me a large bag of takis or doritos so I can deal with this problem.

I worked at Wendy's in Canada for 5 years, more than 20 years ago, before triple burgers were officially on the menu, and the "meat cube" was referred to as "Grand Slam"(I'm assuming referencing baseball).
I love Wendy's. I don't eat much anymore, due to the expense. But when i want a hamburger and fries. Wendy's is the only place i'll go. I can honestly say, i've never had a bad meal there. The burgers are the best. You feel that you've eaten a substantial one, too. And in the winter, i love their chili and/or the baked potatoes. A+ all around.

Yeahhhhhhh, I'm soooooooooo happy that Wendy's has come back to the UK! They were here for a very long time from the mid 80's till 2000. Then closed up to concentrate on the US/Canadian Market which was such shame! So the only ever times would have one would be when went to US/Canada on holiday!

I'd take a study break and grab a crispy chicken sandwich or Jr. bacon and fries at the one across the street, in my PJs, with the exact change ready. I feel like the quality has diminished over the years, prolly something to do with Dave's passing.

Here in Canada. The taco salad is served with a small chilli and a sour cream. You’re supposed to mix it all together :)

was surprised as wendies withdrew form uk 25 or so years ago (maybe longer) - i thoght there were a couple of caff type (tiny corner burger joints, possibly not associted with us wendys) original ones left but ---- but internet says they now have a couple of franchised ones from 2021 onwards , dont know if still there as have never seen them and lots of food places cudnt adapt and died last year or two ... so ive learned something

They were here for a very long time from the mid 80's till 2000. Then closed up to concentrate on the US/Canadian Market which was such shame!

Wendy's in my college days in the mid 00's was pretty dope. I'd take a study break and grab a crispy chicken sandwich or Jr. bacon and fries at the one across the street, in my PJs, with the exact change ready. I feel like the quality has diminished over the years, prolly something to do with Dave's passing.

Looks like the American Wendys wins here. I can’t imagine going to Wendys and not having the option of the spicy chicken nuggets or the Apple Pecan Salad.
The spicy nuggets are the best! They took them away for a while, I don’t think I went back there until they brought them back.
