MILK DUDS ARE LIKE CHEWY CARAMEL/ CHOCOLATE CANDIES!! USA LOVES SOUR CANDY ASWELL!! So a lot of our candies are colorful, sweet, and sour. On the other spectrum, caramely, rich, chocolate, crunchy candies! Also a coke freestyle is a drink machine dispenser that lists and dispenses pop from the brand coca cola.

a coke freestyle machine is not only in movie theaters but it's in a lot of different fast food restaurants as well. it has a bunch of categories of drinks owned by Coca Cola and then different flavors within. so for example, you can tap between coke or sprite or Minute Maid or sometimes Fanta or hi c and a bunch of other different categories (many including a light/zero option as well) and within that you can get different flavors. so you could for example not only get a coke, but once you clicked on the coke option it will let you choose between cherry or vanilla etc. it's wild

Okay I worked at AMC for about a decade as crew, then supervisor, then manager…
One of the best things that ever happened is in my small town rural theater, a little boy with a British accent came up to me and asked for “more dressing” for his popcorn haha
Also, we popped our popcorn with coconut oil and the buttery topping was flavored soybean oil.
The menu at AMC was going to be pretty expansive at one point I was in a test market that was trying out the new feature fare menu and the amount of variation in hot dog toppings and hot food offerings (including chicken and waffle sandwiches and burgers) was pretty expansive.

Oh also, the nacho cheese was pretty contentious. We had a brand for a long time and then amc switched to Tostitos and it was our biggest collective complaint all year with people claiming it tasted like vomit (it was pretty bad) so they developed a new formula and put it in the same containers as the old cheese that people used to love but I don’t think it ever tasted quite as good as it used to.

Odeon used to sell butter for popcorn many years ago. Well, it was called butter, but the bottle it came in was called "Butter biz - the biz without the butter", and was basically some sort of yellow vegetable oil with flavouring. I used to work at an Odeon and with the drinks the drink itself was always the next size down but then just topped up with ice. Most also do a kids size one (which I think was 12 fl oz) and not many did the 44 fl oz one with 32 being the largest (not many cinemas do the 44 oz one unless it's just a London thing). With the Ice Blasts the red is Cherry and the blue is Blue Raspberry and you can also get other flavours such as Cola, Strawberry and Lime, Orange, Bubblegum (we do the latter two at the cinema I currently work at). Also before I left Odeon (which was about 7/8 years ago now) we started the "Load it Up" range which was being rolled out to other branches but this included the beef hotdogs, chips (and lattice fries), more nachos toppings than the standard Salsa and Cheese (guac and sour cream). I worked at several different cinema chains in Canada. Here you can pay for real butter. It was basically butter in a plastic Icecream tub that we had to melt in a warmer everyday. Otherwise the free stuff the butter topping is actually a butter flavoured oil. You couldn’t pay me to eat it. It used to be becel margarine that came in a big jug and looked like liquid foam before heated. Best thing I ever learned is that day old heated popcorn actually tastes better than fresh popped ( we only ever pre popped for big rentals so it was maybe 12 hours old but we often would blind taste fresh and the pre popped and everyone always like the older popcorn more but it had to warmed back up first)

In the US, we had those candy shops with bins that you could take and scoop different ones into a bag, then you paid by the pound. Typically they were found in every mall back in the 80's. Many grocery stores also had a Brach's "pick-a-mix" table with scoop and bag, again, pay by the pound. Never seen them in movie theaters.

What they use is an oil based product that has butter flavoring mixed in for the topping. For popping they use coconut oil and a scoop of butter flavored salt.

When I was younger, AMC, or at one point in time General Cinema, (I don't remember when it became an AMC but it was called General Cinema prior to becoming AMC) employees would put "butter" on your popcorn for you, I think you had to ask for it but I could be wrong. At some point in time, AMC added self-serve "butter" dispensers and that is what the AMC location in the city I currently live in has (if you want "butter" on your popcorn, you put the bag under a "butter" dispenser, if that's the right name for it, and press/hold down a button until you feel that your popcorn has enough "butter"). I could be wrong but I think the bottles of "butter", like the one in this video, are for the takeout popcorn. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the big bags of popcorn AMC now sells come with a bottle of "butter" for you to use at home so you get the authentic movie theater experience.
