    • @RealBigBadJohn
      @RealBigBadJohn Год назад

      I don't know where she is based, but I've seen these called scones in similar videos. In some countries, England for example, American-style cookies are actually called biscuits. Scones are a close cousin to American biscuits and the name helps avoid confusion.

      Why do you call the biscuits when they are not biscuits, biscuit is from the Italian word Biscoti which mean twice baked in order to make them crunchier scone in the English language is a much older word than biscuit is having hailed from Scotland in the 14th century, Centuries before America and it's curious form of biscuits was even thought about

      @mosey2672 💯agree, If these you tubers are wanting people to like, subscribe and share their videos, imo they should post the recipe ~and~ dare I say post the American measurements. Of course we can rewatch the video, we can convert European measurements to American cups, ounces, etc. but tbh I will pass on these videos I’ll watch videos where the recipe is posted and I don’t have to take the time to do that (Most times Americans do post the recipe) Lots of you tubers out there to choose from, just sayin!

      Hey Tasmina..I've never tried this recipe using self-raising flour hence i cannot say much. But if you are planning to use self-raising flour I guess you have to alter the amount of baking powder or even completely omit it. My personal opinion is that you should follow the given recipe and i can guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Good luck!
