My 12" Flex Tool saw has this feature and many more. But... it's also 599.99 for the bare tool, no batteries included. Flex does sell an AC to DC conversion though. The batteries perform perfectly so I haven't felt the need. Dewalts saw is perfectly fine, it's an industry standard for a reason. I'm just well invested in the Flex brand now. Gotta say their cordless tools are top notch, the lifetime warranty is awesome too.
I bought the DWS779 for a great price, caught a really good deal at Lowe’s for $399. Then bought all the parts to add the cut line system from MMtool parts. They are replacement parts for the DWS780 - from DeWalt. I don’t really care for the couple other things the 780 has like the stops for 22.5 and 33 or whatever they are and the slide stop latch.
Steve, I've found that for some Tool Features, I'm like how did I live without that, but on many other Tools, I only use a small faction of the Features. My 780 Saw is great, I use it all of the time, it seems. I hope the 779 does well for you for many years! - Stiles
Lol I already got the 12" slider Ryobi and tossing it to the curb for the DeWalt 779 $400 double bevel, my Ryobi is only single bevel I bought 5 years ago for $230 ya know... Back when $230 filled a shopping cart and now it costs $400+ to fill my cart but please do tell me how Ryobi is cheaper and better lol the deflection was the deal breaker for me, too sloppy. And had a laser light not shadow worst laser light ever
It’s a great work site miter saw, however it requires over a 3ft clearance which is not compatible with a garage or work shed work bench which usually has at most a 28-30 inch depth.
Mehul, In what way is Laser better? Seem to me, Lasers need to be adjusted so therefore they can get out of adjustment. This Shadow is just the Shadow of the Blade which doesn't change. - Stiles
@StilesAutomotive i have bosch gcd 12 saw from 8 years, and yet there's no need of laser adjustment it is perfect. Even in sun light it remains visible.
Matthew, I admit my experience with DeWalt is limited; my first Cordless Drill was a DeWalt which worked well. My Angle Grinder is a 30 year old DeWalt that still works great. It has Thousands and Thousands of hours on it, it has an unsafe Cord which I'm crazy for not replacing, but the Grinder works great. This DWS780 Miter Saw is highly recommended by a number of Professional Carpenters on You Tube. - Stiles I like this guy: www.youtube.com/@InsiderCarpentry And his video on the DWS780 Miter Saw: ruclips.net/video/pW88iTlA_VU/видео.html&pp=ygUXaG9uZXN0IGNhcnBlbnRlciBEV1M3ODA%3D
Sadly DeWalt still outlasts and put performs a lot of other big names... Bosch is trash, festool is over priced and over rated for DeWalt quality stuff, Ridgid is pretty decent... Milwaukee probably the best just pay a lot for ot

Al, Ok, very good information. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles

Ryobi miter has the same shadow line system for less than half the price of the 780.
Lekhram, Ok, Great Tip! I got the DeWALT thru Home Depot at 1/2 price and then with their 10% Military Discount. - Stiles
No thanks ...👎
Ryobi sucks.
Ryobi doesn't compare to Dewalt!

Nole, Yep true, I turn it all the way at an angle to store it, then pull it out from the wall to use it. - Stiles
Yea what 12" slider doesn't take 3 feet? Don't say the Ridgid cuz that miter saw is trash and I'm a ridgid fan but not their miter saw... It's junk
My Metabo Has the shadow line
Hansaman, Yep, I love the Shadow, so much better than a Laser. - Stiles

There's no reason to ever buy a DeWalt
Seethe, shill.
