  • Decoupage DIY using FABRIC on a “Glass Cutting Board” that I purchased from The Dollar Tree!! You can see my diy video where I demo using a napkin, here’s the video link: • Decoupage Dollar Tree ...
    In this video I’m using FABRIC! A little different and I will show you step by step!
    I will demo several techniques including reverse decoupage AND the ‘iron-on’ method. These two techniques makes this project so much fun and so easy! You will be creating beautiful glass cutting boards in no time!
    You’ll need some cotton fabric that can be purchased from large craft and hobby stores. Maybe you already have some fabric on hand! You’ll also need: glass cutting boards from The Dollar Tree and other readily available crafting supplies, like: brushes, Mod Podge, chalk paint, nail file, alcohol wipes and acrylic sealant!
    I’ll also introduce you to my newest crafting tool, a small craft iron by Cricket! But you can also use a household iron to do this project.
    These cutting boards are fun to make, great gifts and a fantastic project for craft nights with your friends! A very unique gift for showers, birthdays, Easter, weddings, Mothers Day, hostess gifts and more!
    These cutting boards are beautiful decor but they can also be used!
    THEY DO NEED SPECIAL CARE! Here’s some important instructions and other information : no dishwasher, no microwave, wipe the top after use and dry. Do not submerge in water and use only as labeled “cutting board”!
    Please give my video a thumbs up, subscribe to my RUclips channel, share with your crafting friends & groups! Also hit the little notification bell so you will know every time I add a new video!! Many more to come! I look forward to your comments! Thanks for decoupaging with me! Joan-Marie Domino

    I have made dozens of fabric plates. After my 1st coat of Dishwasher Mod Podge and bake it, then trim edges, then if there are small gaps where the DWMP didn’t adhere, I put a bit more in the gaps and clamp down for about 15 minutes, then put another coat all over the plate and bake again. Once cooled, I sand with a coarse emery board in one direction, repeating after each coat. This technique works so well for me. Thanks for this wonderful video, love the idea of removing the bumpers and replacing later, so much easier than leaving them on👍😍

    I love this idea. I have actually bought several of these, plain and ones that already have a picture on them. They do make good cutting boards for small things like apples, tomatoes, etc. Some of the ones I have purchased so far, I have put on my stove top, on top of my burners and set small potted plants on top of them. I don't cook and live alone so my stove is more of a plant stand! hahahahaha. These are so pretty that I think I'll give it a try. And for gifts, oh yeah, very pretty for gifts!!

    • @JoanMarieDomino

      You can use the iron on method on wood for sure and paper will work. With glass I would stick to the glass cutting boards as I’m not sure if regular glass would be safe. You can use the paper on the cutting boards. So yes on the wood, no on glass. - Joan 🙂

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  2 года назад

      Hi! This technique is ONLY for the Dollar Tree cutting boards which is a FLAT SURFACE. I do NOT recommend you use an iron on a china plate! If you put the fabric on the top of the plate it will not be food safe. Use something that is clear and flat and decoupage under the glass. Save your china for something else.Thank you for asking me these questions and thank you for watching! - Joan 🙂

      You can order the clear glass cutting boards from their website, the minimum is 4 and they can ship to your local DT with free shipping. My DT was sold out of them for a long time and have them back in stock now. Good luck! Joan
