- This was an awesome two days of filming and fishing in the Florida Keys!! I went out to explore a new area and by the second day I learned a lot and it paid off in the end! The Tarpon were biting and luckily I caught 1 and found some snapper, grouper, and even a flounder! The close encounter with the Bull Shark though probably increased my heart rate the most!! I am a Native Floridian,, Fished a LOT in The Keys & Loved every minute of it,, But unfortunately that was 50+ years ago & I would become disabled..So I am grateful that now I can at least tag along with Rich.

@@FishAholicTV If you do devote a show to teaching there I bet there are a bunch of things people want to know. My list is extensive but a few are those I mentioned above and also maybe these: What are your current thoughts on Fluorocarbon vs Mono leaders? I hear you constantly talking about reducing your leader size when you are not getting bites. I have never even thought the could be a reason I am not getting bites? A final question is why when you fish offshore do you have our sinker so far away from your hook? What are your thoughts on that rig as opposed to dropper rig where the sinker can move around on the line?

I have been loving the vids.
Was down in Holden beach Friday and couldn’t go out, the wind was insane.
I usually use a 7’ heavy, medium/fast would you use a 6000 size reel with that rod? I’m trying to find the sweet spot for an all-rounder spinning setup for Northeast inshore. One minute you have an average Blue & next you have one with big shoulder and a bad attitude..If you could only take one rod/reel what size rod/reel?

Hi Rich, what GoPro attachments do you use your Mikes? I’ve used a number of different attachments, but seem to have really big audio issues.. like the connectors weren’t always fitting so I get back after filming and find that I have no audio. In this video I was using the head mount that’s it. It’s not comfortable but I do what I need to do to make some cool content

I have both the revo13 and the outback 12, although the revo is faster I really prefer to fish from the outback .. it's wider and more stable

@dylanhudson4665 the revo was my 1st kayak and I liked it enough to get the outback .. I've been thinking about selling the revo and getting a pro Angler 12 or 14 tho as I don't really use it much anymore .. if I keep it I may try it with some outriggers also
I heard you say to someone that you put Dr. Juice on your lures. Well that little container you were using didn't have the name Dr. Juice on it, it said something with the word "Mullet" on it. When Dr. Juice first came out, there was like a cartoon picture of a man and a hat on it I think. Have they evolved since? I too was thinking of trying to get some more of it, for some reason or another, I lost it. Can I still send away for another free one somewhere, or even have to pay for it possibly, that would be all right as well I guess. Just wondering. Thanks for a really cool video! God bless

Crazy the tarpon went for the squid trex! What size, wt. and color did you use if I may ask?
It’s their smallest size Squidtrex. I can’t remember the exact one. Also I swapped out the split rings and hook for stronger stuff for next time.

hopefully you checked the top guide, the ceramic inserts crack easily with things like what happened to the rod
Yeah I checked it and surprisingly it was ok. Still caught that tarpon on that setup and recently two permit with everything performing perfectly

Outback Hobie 2018. My favorite. I would look on Facebook marketplace for a used one that won’t break the bank.
When you bleed a fish, I noticed you stick them over your drive to bleed out. Do you not worry or at least be concerned about a shark hitting your kayak?
Nahhh not really. It’s not like I’m sticking a bunker chum over the side of the kayak or dangling the fish over the side and bleeding it. I find that to be the most logical way to do it so the shark can’t really see the fish.
Sorry you didn't land that first Tarpon. She will visit you in your dreams.
When are you moving to the keys?
