Clean or dirty? I think it was clean tbh.
If he’s going for the sack then it’s clean.
Unintentionally Dirty….. driving body weight into body long after ball gone… could have just pushe him
Driving a QB into the ground with your full body weight is a penalty in college now. Has been in the NFL ever since Rodgers broke his collarbone against the vikings a few years back. Hope ewers didn't break his
Clean. It looks dirty in slow motion but this happened in a split second.
I’m a Bama fan and was pissed when he went down. I want to see a good game. Hope it’s nothing too serious.
This dude looked like the truth through a quarter, I hope he can come back and make it a game
Sad for injury but the truth? The Buckeyes didn’t even want him on field
Gotta look good for 4 quarters not just 1
@@djlutz9443 He would have had to wait in line to start that and already made money off them.
Guy is done for the year
@@djlutz9443 well through this game the guy threw two tds in the first quarter against number one defense in the land. It was a cheap shot to land on him guy should of been ejected.
Man he was looking incredible. Prayers up 🙏
I swear i see you everywhere
Saban sent the dogg in to plant him cause Texas clearly was going to whip bamie and I'll be if Texas doesn't almost win anyway!

There goes Texas chances at the upset, that QB looked like the best player on the field
He was the best player on the field, dude was like me playing quaterback in Ncaa 14, making the quick passes to open receivers
As much as I can't stand the Longhorns, he was definitely the better QB in the first half. Bryce looks like the inexperienced freshman.
Texas's chance now is on the shoulders of the running backs, O-line, and that fire defense. The loss of Quinn at the moment kinda sucks but they still have a chance. Let's go Longhorns!!!!! 🐂 🐂 🐂
@@kanyetwitty6471 don’t get me wrong I would love for Texas to win, but I don’t see them handling another half without ewers
@@aaronballer2131 I mean the game is tied rn
I can’t believe I had to see this again. I remember colt McCoy 09. Im disappointed in that kid from bama but it’s football. I’m very proud of Texas. Everyone counted us out by 20 or more points. I hope ewers is ok. Speedy recovery.
It would have been 20 or more points were it not for the 100 penalty yards incurred by Alabama. The Longhorns choked it away. Bama kept handing you chances but you choked on national TV in front of a record setting 105,000+ home crowd. Face it, you guys are average at best. And once you’re in the SEC playing murderer’s row every week, you’ll finally realize it.
@@jcraigshelton idk about all that. I think ewers was the best player on the field till he wasn’t 😂🤣😂 but it’s your opinion bro. Hook em
@@jcraigshelton Blah blah blah. That's what everybody said about THIS game: "Texas has no chance," "Texas can't compete," "Texas gon' get blown out." Didn't happen though, did it? And listen to you whining about flags. Bama couldn't even line up correctly, and when they did, they were holding and grabbing facemasks and whatever they could because they couldn't keep up with Texas' players. Bama couldn't run all day apart from one long run (avg'd 2.6 yds carry on all their other runs). Couldn't consistently pass effectively either (TX QB's threw for more yards than the reigning Heisman winner). They did do a nice job of bottling up the Texas run game, but Ewers was TORCHING that vaunted defense and was on pace for a 530+ yd day before the injury. But even with a backup on a bum ankle and multiple BS calls and non-calls from the refs, Texas took the tide to the wire and if any team had a chance to win by 20 in this game, it was Texas. They outplayed bama for the vast majority of the game. Texas is on the right path and will be juuuust fine in the SEC.
Disappointed in him for what? Making a routine tackle? 💀
@@SW.Productions lol I did say it’s football. But I guess I should of typed in all caps or said something a little more obvious. My bad. 🤦🏽♂️
He was looking great. Hoping for a speedy recovery
A Texas starting quarterback getting hurt against Alabama is just a tradition at this point
Ah yes, an every 12 years or so tradition..
Dumbest comment ever. It’s happened twice and it’s been like 13 years dude
Yes, especially when Bama knows they’re about to get SMOKED.
Its happened 2 times and wasn't intentional either time. Texas just needs to develop these football players who seem to be made of cheap ceramic a little better. Hits like that in the SEC happen all the time and we think NOTHING of it and don't accuse the other team of deliberately injuring anyone
@@benjaminfinley9314 We wouldn't have gotten smoked either time. The only reason Texas played so well Saturday was they were motivated and focused. One game and your team wasn't the same for 13 years, so y'all played pretty inspired against them, played defense better than any BIG 12 team has in over a decade, and still couldn't win
Why do Texas QBs always get hurt against Alabama? 😭😭 Btw sorry for messing up both titles today I’m a little off my game right now lmao (I put AB instead of QB at first).
Screw Alabama
maybe it’s something to do with Alabama
Because bama can't beat Texas unless they injure our QBS
Idk, it was a clean hit. What was he supposed to do, levitate? Maybe Texas QB gotta work out a little more.
@@georgejohnson8674 🤣🤣🤣
Clean hit
Kid played great. Unfortunate injury, but hope he can come back quick. Play was clean though. Didn’t even have a full step from the time the ball left the qbs hand. Dallas was already in mid-tackle. In real time, it’s bang bang. I don’t know how they expect him to pull up on that play. I guess it’s roughing by rule, but that’s a football play in my opinion. Best wishes to Ewers though from this Bama fan. Roll Tide and God Bless!
Tough break for Texas again. Just like in their last encounter (2009 National Title game).
Hopefully it’s not bad
Well, it's confirmed he's done with his career in Austin. He sucks and is made of glass and I also heard likes to throw neck. Hes a head doctor.
Seeing how this game ended makes this suck even more. Quinn plays all game they ROLL over Bama

I don't like Alabama but after watching this about a dozen times I see no reason to call a penalty on this hit. It wasn't late, no targeting with his helmet and he didn't shift his weight to maximize impact. He landed flat on top of Ewers. It was just unfortunate that Ewers turned his body so that he landed with all his weight on his shoulder.
Agreed. The hit was happening as the ball was being thrown. Wasn’t done intentionally, but yes just an unfortunate play that resulted in injury. Part of the game.
@@tysolomano5754 Well you can hit a QB as the ball is released that can be a penalty if the defender make an effort to maximize the impact on the QB by leaning forward. That didn't look to be the case here though. It looked like a clean hit to me.
Thank you,I thought it was a clean hit and non intentional as far as hurting the QB...still dont understand the penalty
As a fan of football this was sad because Texas did the same thing to young I this a drive you 2 earlier and they didn't throw the flag it really just shows how bad the refs have become nowadays
Because college football is getting softer by the year.
As an Alabama fan that is annoying. Now if we win it’s just gonna feel like we only won because their Quarterback got hurt.
I mean did you see how Ewers was playing, he was definitely keeping Texas in the game
That’s because it’s true lol
I will say I’m impressed by the Bama fans by how humble they are after the past 10+ years of success. Yall are a class act and see things realistically. Thank you for that
And because the refs bailed you out multiple times. Disgraceful.

Texas really playing unreal today with 2 qbs out the defense is bringing a realshow rn
Just the usual bama strategy for playing Texas 🤣 shades of Colt McCoy in the natty.
Even when Colt played the best Texas did was get into field goal range early and that was it. Stop the cap. Nothing was stopping the @zz whoopin in 2010. In this game it wasn’t the QB play that was the determining factor. Penalties and that missed FG just before the half did UT in. When you’re the home team playing #1 gotta execute, period.
Man he was about to blow us out. Hope he’s alright. Good game Texas much respect. We’ll see y’all in a couple of years lol
We'll see them next year. In Tuscaloosa. It'll be a revenge game when we didn't even lose the first time. Texas fans have already pissed too many SEC fans off and they're 3 years from joining the conference.
Quinn Ewers = 2024 NFL DRAFT #1 OVERALL PICK‼️👈🤷🤷♂️🤷♀️
That wasn't dirty. It was a clean play. The quarterback jumped and was met in the air. They called a BS penalty and Texas fans making excuses.
History doesn't repeat, it rhymes.
I promise you they do bounties at Bama.
i like how turner uses his left hand to make sure he stays on top of the QB. that's good technique
Can’t take the loss
Where’s the ejection? You could have pushed him. You had to backpack him and land on top of him. The only way bama can beat Texas is to hurt the starting qb. Smmfh
Ejection for not being able to change the laws of physics? Defenders are taught to tackle, both arms wrapped around the offensive player until he's DOWN. He was half a step from him when Ewers threw that ball and looking at his chest there was no way to know he'd even thrown the ball. Also, QB's are taught to NEVER LEAVE THEIR FEET TO AVOID GETTING INJURED. So maybe blame the dumbass with the mullet for not just taking a sack and preserving himself for another play? And the hit on Colt McCoy was beyond clean and wasn't intentional the fact you'd say it was is hilarious 🤣🖕. Damn you Texans aren't nearly as tough as television and movies make you out to be.
he was playing really REALLY good. hope hes okay
Dallas Turner did that intentionally he knew Ewers was kicking a** so he injured the QB on purpose
Texas by 10 if Ewers didn’t get hurt
That’s a True freshman man. No reason to lay into the hit like that.
Lol
Who is a true freshman? Not Ewers. He went to OSU early for the NIL money…year two. He is really good too. Fun to watch play, unless we are playing him.
Apparently injuring UTs QB is the only way Alabama can win.
🤡
What a baby penalty. NO FLAG
So if Ohio state DROPPED in the polls for beating a top 5 team by double digits what should happen to bama for barely beating an unranked team with its backup QB in most of the game?
This didn't age well. We are Marshall. ND 0-2 😂
Yes ND lost. But bama needs to drop after this weak win. They played so dirty and sloppy. Very lucky to win
@@brendanschriber3242 I think you're not giving Sarkisian enough credit here. He knows how Nick Saban coaches. He can anticipate what Nick Saban will do and when he'll do it. Ohio State beat a, annually overrated, Notre Dame team. Georgia destroyed an overrated Oregon team. They simply traded places. Alabama beat a ranked 22 Texas team. The AP left Texas unranked to undermine the win.
Alabama stays number 1 because
1. They beat a ranked power five team
2. Georgia played Samford
3. Ohio State played Ark State
4. Won at Texas against a former coach.
@@HoHerm it’s not just that though Texas is unranked and alabama barely beat them. They should definitely go down in rankings
@@MichaelSlott I didn’t rank the teams 😂 ND clearly not a top 5 team but nothing changed in regards to mighty Alabama STRUGGLING to beat an unranked NON-SEC opponent with its BACKUP in most of the game.
Seems to be a "college tradition" now when Alabama and Texas meet that the Longhorn QB is out in the 1st quarter.
Don't forget the fans crying online. Tis tradition.
Texas if yall lose this game close, pull a Bama fan and cry injury... this one is actually warranted

It was dirty but was in a phase of the game where it can be played off
just put flags on the QBs waist if that was a dirty hit
This is where the game changed
There is no body weight rule in college that’s clean just flagged because of the injury..
Roughing the passer so no, not clean.
Silky Johnson it’s not roughing the passer. Get a grip
He put all of his weight on him. He could’ve rolled off of the QB. Alabama just wants to retain their number one spot by hurting the best players on the opposing team
@@jonborton1295 it absolutely is.
He drove he’s body all the way to the ground i think it was dirty plus you can see that he saw the ball coming out but he wanted that qb to feel that hit Coaches train their players to take out quarterbacks anyways gives them better chance to win

Yes. That is a definite coincidence. You see that exact play numerous times in every game, but only the ones where an injury occurs are talked about.
where its smoke its fire
Alabama must be having another “rebuilding” year Texas put it on them pretty good.
It was 120 degrees, 15 penalties. That was Texas National Championship.
Now that college football has gone professional I see that they've outlawed tackling just like the NFL has.
And now card is limping they got him too

Dirty Alabama has beaten us the last two times we've played-- by cheap-shotting our Blue Chip QB. FU, Tide!!!

They did him wrong
People will complain about how soft modern football is and then cry about how dirty a hit like this is.

Alabama hurt him on purpose, no need to drive him into the ground like that. Alabama want to retain that number one spot. Dirty program dirty players
Anyone on any team coulda hit like that. It’s just football. Stop being so soft
He literally threw the ball half a second before turner hit him. If you don’t want to get smoked by an all American linebacker then hit the deck before he hits you. Was it roughing the passer? Yes. If you don’t think every single linebacker is going to take that hit then you have no idea what you’re talking about.
@@Pootypootypooty Hit isn't the problem, it's the followthrew on the pile drive. It's a soft rule, I agree, but it's been put in place for this exact reason.

Good game Alabama I don’t want to be a fan that makes excuses we had missed opportunities in this game including a play with Evers. Hudson cards performance really surprised me the moment he came in the game I thought you guys were just gonna completely take over but our defense stayed in it and at the end it all came down to who made the place in the end and you guys dead again congrats. The only debate that could be put up is either Alabama Wells Fargo this season or Hudson card really improved

Great game❤️! I sure hope Sark gets the respect he deserves now. Texas fans have been nothing but straight nasty to him since he arrived in TX. Sark is brilliant and I know Bama would love to have him back. As a Bama fan, I'm happy he had a good game❤️
Someone reminded me of the history of that school and the handling of the opponent quarterbacks I was reminded that when they played DW the way they were going after his knees and one time a defensive player went right at his hip. And when they played CN a player stepped on his leg while he was down and what about the FSU qb a few years ago was blind sided in back of his knee and although I know it's the game but he was buried in the turf and before that he was giving them fits so in the future look at some of the hits the opposing qbs get. Some are maybe a little uncalled for in today's football world but I'm not coaching or playing but I wondered what would happen if TB got buried in the dirt on his shoulder like that FFT
Feel bad for Ewers. I hope is okay. Do think those hits shouldn’t be penalized though. Bang bang play.
It wasn't the "hit" it was the driving him into the turf aspect of it. The flag wasn't for a late hit, it was for "driving the quarterback into the ground." The announcers are talking over it, but if you listen a little carefully, you can hear the ref announce exactly that, and it was a good call.
Good play but yeah he feel on his arm he said be good
Yeah that’s a clean hit.

The play that decided the game. The other guy healthy was not nearly as effective and after his first scramble it was really bad. Not a fan of either team. Texas played inspired and Bama played careless. Horns had a real chance to turn the CFB upside down today, negated by the loss of their quarterback
@ Daniel Greene, while I agree with your sentiments, sure, my deep down hunch says Texas would have fought valiantly and put up a good game, yes. However, Alabama in their prime is, again my opinion, too good and too well-rounded and would probably have ended up winning this game. Truth is: we'll never know. That's the unfortunate, sad, mysterious and confounding thing about all of this: we'll never know
Card got hurt midway through the 3rd. They’re saying a bad high ankle sprain and he played through it. Also our number 1 CB got hurt which SUCKED. But also Bama played so careless and dropped so many 1st downs! So many what ifs in this game, hate that the refs played a part in it too. Sucks sucks sucks

The mullet king is down 😢
If the defender jumps up and doesn’t hit the QB then Ewers pulls the ball down, and side steps the linebacker, rolls to his left and throws a TD. No win for Bama . Not dirty , hard football play. Sucks because the QB was balling ! Why wasn’t it intentional grounding? The QB wasn’t out of the tackle box, he ran straight back.
Can I ask, what do you expect the defensive player to do when he leaves his feet? Fight gravity and float after he makes contact with the QB?! I mean, he can’t expect to not fall? It wasn’t a dirty hit, by no means, but still, a penalty? That’s not “roughing the passer”
Its a penalty because he landed his body weight on top of the qb. Maybe you were never in a position to know this, but you CAN (usually) control where and how you land once you've left the ground. He could and should have rolled off to either side, but he stayed directly on top. (Also, I'm not insulting your athleticism, I'm just pointing this out incase you've never been in that "in the air" position, for all I know you could be a great athlete)

Great comment, nothing the defensive player can do once he leaves his feet.
@@Redwhiteandtired Whether or not it's easy to avoid (I guess you must be a former NFL player to know that), what makes it a bad rule is the fact that you're now telling these defensive players whose job it is to hit the ball carrier (hard) and bring them down, that they also have to be concerned for that player's safety and not their own. I've seen guys injure THEMSELVES by trying to pull off these unnatural maneuvers

We got to see them play Georgia with their two 1k yard wr's and then see them play most of a game vs Georgia without their two 1k yard wrs. So yes injuries are why they lost. Bama probably loses this one with Ewers playing the whole game
