My son would have been 41 years old today. Sadly he passed away 7/19/07 at 9:11 am. Incubus was one of his favorite bands. I'm sitting by his memorial tree and paying tribute to him by listening to some of his favorite tunes. He would love that. Miss him dearly. 😘🙏

My wife and I got together in 2006 and this has been our song for many years now. We both suffer from mental illness (our sickness) and rely on each other to help dig us out when we are having mental issues. Totally gives this song special meaning to us. Thank you Incubus for the gift of putting words to our feelings for each other.

Saw this clip on Mtv when I was 7 and had no knowledge of English nor any way of looking for this song. I've been trying since pretty much that time and it is now, at 23 years old that I've finally found the first song that I've ever liked that was discovered by myself; it's a small thing but this is a dream come true and has definitely made my week and possibly my month
Amazing how a band named Incubus has so may songs speaking on goodness and self healing. They speak of someone digging at us. Unconditional love, when we truly love ourselves and others, we shine our light on (with love) the dark areas in other people we KNOW are capable of so much more. The light in us feels the need to DIG them out of their ego self that causes so much grief.
So many of their songs have such great meaning! Totally recommended reading/watching some interviews with Brandon Boyd if you haven't. It really made me love them even more.

I couldn't listen to this song for almost 10 years because I saw you guys live with my ex fiance one week before she unexplainably walked out of my life and never gave me a reason. Was an awesome show too your photographer gave us pit passes for free we were 10 feet from the stage, best show ever and then she ripped my heart out and used it as toilet paper. 10 years later I walked away from an abusive partner this past Saturday that made my life hell every day for 8 years and for whatever reason I can finally listen to this again. Missed it alot.

This song is my marriage put to music... Two imperfect people (one with autism, then other with bipolar disorder) trying to learn to accept each other's flaws and build a life and a family together. Sometimes I'm down, sometimes she's down. We both get buried sometimes under the weight of this place called the real world, but we know that the "us" that we fell in love with is still there, just beneath the surface, so whenever one of us is off the other is there to dig them out of it. We both dig at each other sometimes, but at least we dig each other :). This song reminds us that we will always have each other, when everything else is gone.

This song is bittersweet for me. I clung to it as my wife spiraled into insanity with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. On the one hand, it reminds me that we were together until the very end, when there was nothing left of the woman that I knew and loved. On the other, I kind of feel betrayed that the hope the song seems to promise never manifested for us. I guess that's life. Still, I love the song.

Audrey Rose, who was hit by a car and killed when she was only 10 yrs old.. She'd be 30 today. The most beautiful, kind, and sweet little girl I have ever known. I Loved her like my own. We had a strong bond. This song brings Bert and I all the wonderful, GOOD MEMORIES of Audie. I'm surprised at how many people are also reminded of passed loved ones by this gorgeous song. It really comforted me to read all the similar comments. My heart breaks for every one, tho. How amazing is this band to create a song that evokes such similar emotions from so many of us? Oh my goodness The rock and alternative genres raised me I swear. Incubus has always been one of my many favorites. There's something about their sound that just really gets to me and puts me in this amazing mood I truly feel like I'm home again. Sitting in the house that built my family and I . You know how you hear a song over and over again that it just kinda becomes background music ? That's how rock and alternative music was for me . It was just always on. I could be waking up to my father making his special breakfast on a Sunday morning and I'd wake up to it. I could just walk in the dim lit kitchen and the music was always playing, It would play while we sat down at the table as a family. After my father was murdered not far from home we moved away from the house we never planned on leaving because it was too hard and the "background music" began to mean the world to me. I had never taken it for granted in the first place but the lyrics mean much more to me than they ever had . This is definitely my favorite Incubus song. It reminds me of the one person that knows me more than anyone else and can just get to me and I can get to him.

this album brings me back to being 21 and carefree. I'd listen to this on road trips, sauna sessions before/after a workout at the gym on my iPod, at parties. Very nostalgic. Still gives me chills
This is my favorite song! My dad's initials are DIG. He passed away in 2009 and this song has really pushed me to look at his passing in a better way. I know that I'll always have him even though he's gone.

My Mom passed away August and I went from Oregon to California to help with arrangements - and I was so lucky me and my son went to Hollywood Bowl and saw Incubus -it was so amazing -,we both felt her smiling down on us. God bless you Nico-you made Grandma proud.

Light Grenades is one of those rare musical gems that gets better with the passage of time. I listened to this album religiously for the better part of two years when it came out. I found so much encouragement from the vulnerability displayed in these songs and how they relate to the human condition. This album will always have significance to me and a special place in my being. One of my top ten albums of all time regardless of genre.
My best friend died 6/17/24. We would talk about this song. We used this song as kind of our way around life and our relationship/friendship.

Im twelve and as crazy as it sounds I've been listening to Incubus ever since I was born. This song brings back memories of my childhood, also bringing back the nostalgic moments when my mom would sing this to me when I was sad. I love this song and know all the words by heart, and just listening to it can make the pain go away. The meaning to this song is so deep and thoughtful, that it's not only happy but it's showing affection to one another. I would also like to thank the band themselves, for making great music, capable of making people happy. I will always listen to your music.
