Anna Molly is about a broken girl who feels dead in the inside and appears dead on the outside to people (hence in the video they think she's dead). The flip side of the name is more meaningful which is an "Anamoly" which is something that deviates from what is standard or normal. She's a mess and she's not like everyone else. This is what made me fall in love with Incubus since I was like kid. They have very deep meanings behind their song lyrics.
I can relate to this song so so much. I've felt dead forever and I feel that people around me feel like I am too ☺️ but I feel like I am just now opening my eyes to the 🌎

I don't remember my grade but it was good and I loved being able to just dump my love for Incubus into a school assignment! Grateful to my mom for introducing me to this band and tons of other greats!
That second verse has been changing my life for years, it's just too good. I'm just re-remembering how much I love this song. Hope to do so for many years to come.
I went to see Incubus live last night and they played this song, it was the first time I heard it in years. The DEFINITION of an out of body experience.

Even how Brandon pronounces her name. Check out the actual word he says and it's definition !.....Anomaly definition is - something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified : something anomalous. LOVE THIS !!!!

Brandon Boyd has SUCH a unique voice, his vibrato is UNMATCHABLE! Not many rock artists have his type of vibrato and it’s SOOO good! I actually sang “Drive” at a Pops concert in my chorus class in high school as a solo performance. I couldn’t match his skill, but I was also REALLY nervous doing it so that didn’t help at all. This was the first Incubus song I ever heard back in 2006/2007 in my last year of high school. Was introduced by my ex-bestie. I became obsessed with their sound, and Brandon Boyd’s powerful, emotive vocals. I especially love the imagery the lyrics paint.
Can we talk about how BEAUTIFUL Brandon is in this video! He is in all of them but ugh!! He is perfection!! This song is phenomenal.. I love legit ever song they have ever made! That’s some pretty insane talent to me!!
One of my favorite songs by them. Right up there with Pardon Me, I Miss You, Wish You Were Here, Stellar, Dig, Drive... That moment in the video where the furnace fires up is just epic! I'm not familiar with their 2 or 3 most recent albums, but loved everything from Make Yourself onward. Fungus Among us and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. are good but a completely different listening experience. I got to see them live with The Deftones and Taproot way back in either very late 1999 or in 2000 at Mercer Arena in Seattle. They stole the show, that's for sure. Love Brandon's voice!
I first heard this song when I was 12. I believe it was at the mall or some place like that. This was way before shazam and the internet was not what it is now. The chorus stuck with me for years and I thought he was saying “lonely” I searched the web for HOURS with no results. It haunted me and made me very sad that a song that touched me so deeply I may never hear again. I eventually forgot about it. I’m 26 now and a DJ. The song came on the jukebox of the bar I was playing at tonight as I packed up. I was mid convo and didnt hear the song until the last chorus. It struck me. I frantic shazamed the final seconds of it. It said Anna molly and I thought it was a mismatch as shazam will sometimes do. I checked the jukebox for a last played and got nothing. I was reminded of a sadness I hadn’t felt in years as the song stuck in my head again. As a final attempt I decided to play the shazamed track. To my utter surprise this was it! I have been listening to it on repeat all night. I can now die in peace!
I had Guitar Hero On Tour on the Nintendo DS when it came out in like 2008 when I was 11/12 & this song still hits the exactly the same 15 years later. Nuts really
This song will always bring me back,a short lived wonderful memories,of a guy I met, when I was in the hospital last year.with a broken leg. He was such a cool guy,but we weren't sure how to approach each other? I always use to listen to this song because I use to think that the song kept saying, I'm lonely? I can't stop thinking about him,and pray that I can see him one more time.
que banda incrível, que musica fóda! Me traz muitas lembranças de momentos que jamais esquecerei em minha vida! obrigado incubus, por trazer alegria aos meus ouvidos!
This song resonated with me through my teens. This is that “new” Incubus though my older to be brother in law would say. I miss jamming to these guys. Crazy this song is almost half my age now.
MTV latam from that era. My god... the only thing good in my life back then. Fending of in the jungle/HS, the bullies, the crushes, the awkwardness and maladaptative daydreaming, ASD, ADHD both undiagnosed.... then coming home, getting comfy and watching MTV, or watching Avatar The Last Airbender or some other cartoon. Saved me for sure! So many great songs and musical videos from that era too. The whole emo fade hahaha. OMG.
Ive heard Incubus's radio hits, intriguing band, some talented young guys,im an older guy, but Im still rockin ' the Les Paul like I learned how from listening to the incredible Jimmy Page- just got asked into a great band ,w / great female singer/ songwriter - voice sounds like Cheryl Crowe, music a little edgier, she got 3 albums & has toured, point being, Im going to jam w them for the first time next wed. & AnnaMolly is one of the covers she gave me to learn- ide never heard before yesterday- but im very stoked about rockin' this song with them!
Wasn't this song in Shaun white snowboarding? I've been looking for this song for about a decade on and off. I couldn't find it in any Shaun White snowboarding playlist. I had to SoundHound the song and all I could remember was the Melody of him saying Anna Molly. So thankful that SoundHound pulled through for me.
I love this song but the video terrifies me, since I get sleep paralysis once or twice a month, being conscious through a surgery and autopsy and aware but unable to move or scream would be worse than death I would imagine.
Fortunately I don't suffer of any of those things but certainly this is a very distressing video. I can't imagine the anguish of being in such state, but this video express it really well. And the song is good.
My first exposure to this song was as a freshman in high school rocking out to Guitar Hero 3 Bloc Party and a number of other artists have stuck with me ever since 🎉
The first time I listened to this song is when I was a kid, kinda forgot about the lyrics, i searched this song and took me a 11 years, and now finally I found it. This song bring me so much memories with my brother
Breaking up with the love of my life in a new city, dealing with traumas and insecurities, taking mushrooms and drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol in an effort to cope with it all, Incubus was there. Grateful every time I re-visit this.
Band-Maid presented this song recently. Came here for a listen. Musically Is cool in some sections.... But Band-Maid style has spoiled my ears and set a new bar of my taste.
Sometimes forgetting a song is the best thing that can happen to you. Hearing it for the "first" time years later can be a powerful moment.

Annabel Lee
BY EDGAR ALLAN POE
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee-
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!-that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in Heaven above
Nor the demons down under the sea
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling-my darling-my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea-
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Fate or something better I couldn't care less
Just stay with me a while
Wait there is a light, there is a fire
Defragmenting the attic
Fate or something better I couldn't care less
Just stay with me a while
I picture your face in the back of my eyes
A fire in the attic a proof of the prize
Anna Molly, annomally, Anna Molly
I'm calling your name up into the air
Nobody of the others could ever compare
Anna Molly, annomally
(Annomally)
Wait there is a light there is a fire
Defragmenting the attic
(Annomally)
Fate or something better I couldn't care less
Just stay with me a while
One of my all time favorite bands! Anybody reading this I LOVE YOU 💕
Remember when people made music because they wanted to make you feel what they felt? Now they just want you to be seen listening to them.
This is the jam 🤘 but you muse hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🎹🎶🎧
truly one of the greatest songs ever made
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🤘
I'm been on an Anna Molly kick the last few weeks. The song is so amazing from the singing to the musicianship, I've gotten re-addicted to it.
This song was one of my favorites for a long time in highschool, along with Love Hurts. Love Incubus.
Dahlia Daintily You're cute.
Dahlia Daintily agreed. I played Drive religiously on my radio show in high school. good times
Wow it's great to see an ASMRtist that I'm subscribed to on an incubus video! I thought I recognized your name! :D
+Dahlia Daintily i wonder why
+Dahlia Daintily why love hurts, you are beautiful dude.
This was the first Incubus song I ever heard back in 2006/2007 in my last year of high school. Was introduced by my ex-bestie.
I became obsessed with their sound, and Brandon Boyd’s powerful, emotive vocals. I especially love the imagery the lyrics paint.
I just came back to again appreciate the awesome bass line being played..
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🤘
Can we talk about how BEAUTIFUL Brandon is in this video! He is in all of them but ugh!! He is perfection!! This song is phenomenal.. I love legit ever song they have ever made! That’s some pretty insane talent to me!!
Algún latino escuchando buena música en la cuarentena 💪💪
Si 😎
asi es, saludos desde Chile bro
Claro que si master
Claro que yess! Cuídense! Saludos desde Panamá 🇵🇦
Paraguay 🇵🇾🇵🇾🇵🇾
I woke up w this song stuck in my head 😊
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🤘🌎🔥
Blessed to have grown up when this type of music was in the charts!!
This is one of their most underappreciated songs. Maybe its me but no one ever talks about this one. It still amazing.
Man. I’ve always said this !!! Preach it
Well morning view and make yourself are hard s tier. This album is fantastic like all of them but it just doesn't compare.
The lead singer has a great voice and this song really showcases it!!!
I can now die in peace!
congrats, finding an old song after searching forever has gotta be the best feeling :)
Best feeling ever! Make sure to check out all their other music if you’re not familiar. They fuckin rock. This song and Dig are prob my two favs
I had Guitar Hero On Tour on the Nintendo DS when it came out in like 2008 when I was 11/12 & this song still hits the exactly the same 15 years later. Nuts really
How cool! Best feeling ever. I just randomly remembered this song after more than 10 years 😳
My man, Incubus has lots of awesome songs. Also check out Guano Apes, definitely Deftones, Audioslave and maybe Matchbox Twenty.
Mr. Ben looking out that window and then just bringing in the bass is my favorite part of this video.
Incubus is so damn good. I keep coming back to them every few months. They’ll always be one of my go-tos.
I'm speaking to you from the future in 2022. Incubus music never gets old. And we love covering your songs live.
I'm speaking to you from the future 2023. You are correct. 😜
That part where Jose is just hitting the snare over and over. So much tension. So hype. What a great song. Still blasting in 2022
Mi tema favorito, GAVIOTA!!!
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🤘
I showed this song to a Polish girl called Anna. She'd never heard of the band before, and was very grateful.
This is the very first youtube video I ever saw @16 years old in 2009. ---> 2022 still loving it.
This is the jam 🤘 but you muse hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🎹🎶🎧
que banda incrível, que musica fóda! Me traz muitas lembranças de momentos que jamais esquecerei em minha vida! obrigado incubus, por trazer alegria aos meus ouvidos!
I have recently started listening to Incubus, but the more I hear, the more I like. It's really becoming more of an addiction now.
***** good girl :)
The drum break down gets me going. I can't wait to see them again this month! Favorite band.
they got some groovy bass lines, love how everything flows so well!
This song resonated with me through my teens. This is that “new” Incubus though my older to be brother in law would say. I miss jamming to these guys. Crazy this song is almost half my age now.
Come back to this daily. Incubus was and is truly something in itself. Different, unique, and persistently amazing
It's 2024 and I still stop by from time to time
MTV latam from that era. My god... the only thing good in my life back then.
OMG.
Brandon is beyond beautiful here, it's like anomaly, you know
The song itself is in my top-100 best songs of all time, amazing ❤
I definitely appreciate this band much more then I did as a child. They are amazing!!
INCUBUS is My Favorite Band! INCUBUS Phucking Rocks ISH!!! Always...
"Who's listening in 20...?" WE ARE. WE ARE ALWAYS LISTENING. WE'LL ALWAYS KEEP LISTENING. STOP DENOTING TIME WITH SOMETHING SO TIMELESS!
This is one of my favorite music videos of all time, and the song itself is a banger.
The most iconic intro 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
2000s wouldn't be the same without Incubus. I'm glad we had bands like this
Ive heard Incubus's radio hits, intriguing band, some talented young guys,im an older guy, but Im still rockin ' the Les Paul like I learned how from listening to the incredible Jimmy Page- just got asked into a great band ,w / great female singer/ songwriter - voice sounds like Cheryl Crowe, music a little edgier, she got 3 albums & has toured, point being, Im going to jam w them for the first time next wed. & AnnaMolly is one of the covers she gave me to learn- ide never heard before yesterday- but im very stoked about rockin' this song with them!
Not one single bad song by incubus all iconic masterpieces much love ❤ rock on 🤘
In 2024 14 yrs later still coming back for a dose of these guys
Este video me encanta, me atrevo incluso a decir que supera a muchas películas de "terror" y "suspenso"... Grande Incubus!!! 😌😌😌
Wasn't this song in Shaun white snowboarding? I've been looking for this song for about a decade on and off. I couldn't find it in any Shaun White snowboarding playlist. I had to SoundHound the song and all I could remember was the Melody of him saying Anna Molly. So thankful that SoundHound pulled through for me.
there's no reason to dislike this song, not even one..
gaya lu bro
Too short
Psti ente da tua hahahah
Orang muda mentah je dislike song ni
You're the one reason
Its just me who feel like commenting on every single vdo of Incubus? Can't be more thankful to the band for the great music.
The drum beats are everything!
This song just randomly play next in the queue and I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve heard this song. Let’s go!
I love this song but the video terrifies me, since I get sleep paralysis once or twice a month, being conscious through a surgery and autopsy and aware but unable to move or scream would be worse than death I would imagine.
I know the feeling I have had sleep paralysis too more than once, the video terrifies me as well, but I still loove the song and Incubus a lot. :)
Fortunately I don't suffer of any of those things but certainly this is a very distressing video. I can't imagine the anguish of being in such state, but this video express it really well. And the song is good.
It's ok that sort of thing isn't common unless the corner is incompetent... more common trait in America...
Gracias Danna! :)
I am sooo excited that you are going to visit us here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 🎉🎉🎉
My love for this band will never die! Man they are just so awesome!
Gracias por venir a Perú. Un pogazo con este tema. :D
Miku Kobato of Band-Maid brought me here because she said she liked this song.
Me . too.
Oo, I actually saw Band Maid and Incubus at the same event last year, so that's awesome to hear!
My first exposure to this song was as a freshman in high school rocking out to Guitar Hero 3
Bloc Party and a number of other artists have stuck with me ever since 🎉
2024 anyone?

Shit all my love 😮
Incubus is one of a kind that Brandon Boyd kept saying “Anna Molly” 3 Times in a row and I love it? 🤩
This was my favorite song into my late teens
This song never gets old!
One of my all time favorites.
My favorite Incubus song by far....."wish you were here I'm a wounded satellite, I need you now put me back together make me right 😢"
Só me lembro dos tempos que eu madrugava assistindo Mtv, esse vídeo sempre passa nesses horários!! Sdds ❤️
The first time I listened to this song is when I was a kid, kinda forgot about the lyrics, i searched this song and took me a 11 years, and now finally I found it. This song bring me so much memories with my brother
2024 20 diciembre esperándolos al festival de viña
This is so good but you must hear “World” by SLT 🔥🌎🤘🌎🔥
Breaking up with the love of my life in a new city, dealing with traumas and insecurities, taking mushrooms and drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol in an effort to cope with it all, Incubus was there. Grateful every time I re-visit this.
Band-Maid presented this song recently. Came here for a listen.
Musically Is cool in some sections....
But Band-Maid style has spoiled my ears and set a new bar of my taste.
it baffles me how many alternative kids dont listen to incubus, they're missing out.
