Yeah! I got a shirt from the concert at atlanta last night! Incubus was performing there last night! I wasn't there but my mom worked there last night!
I feel so lucky to have been a child in the 90’s and a teen in the early 2000’s. It was just the perfect time to grow up. Now I’m a disillusioned middle aged man feeling like my best days are behind me and wishing desperately that I could go back and do it all over again. Enjoy your youth.
Hey Bro! I'm close to that age, 45. I feel lucky because, even if later in my life, I learned a little bit about showing love to others, sometimes for nothing in exchange (not everyone smiles back, not everyone is capable of being a good friend). There is a lot of bad out there, but you can be part of that little good that does exist. What you did before defines what you are, but also what you're going to do from now on. I believe in God, so I am also confident that he'll reward our efforts to do good.
It all depends on you! That you are now middle aged doesn't mean you can't have fun anymore. Go out and celebrate life doing the things you always enjoyed! That is what we are here for❤ Celebrate life, love and help others, spend time with the people that make you happy❤
Man does this bring back memories. Growing up my mom played this song nearly every Saturday morning. She introduced me into 90s alt rock and I've been a fan ever since. Rest in peace mom ♥

Not really timeless. Music production has stagnated so stuff today still sounds similar to stuff from decades ago. Dont worry about release year and just enjoy what you enjoy. thats my philosophy.
As a 30 something who found this band in the midst of teenage anxiety & depression, while also feeling like I didn't fit in, I am still so greatful for their music.❤ 23 years later, and the songs still take me back. Their music was such a comfort, especially growing up in a small minded rural town in Ohio.. I'm so glad new people are finding their music, it truly is timeless. ☮️✌🏼💗
It's my motivation to go on after losing so many loved ones and battling alcoholism. Just woke up and realized i gotta sober up to stick around and make more memories and be a better friend etc ❤. Much love look after yourself! You've got this!

A.I I stopped because I learnt how to live in the moment and take it one day at a time. I try to see the good in everyday and after a while you realize life really is worth living. I didn't do it alone tho... medication settled my mind... my counselor got to the root of my problems and my family and friends carried me through. I still struggle with myself but I have come so far. things get better... we grow and look back at our old self and can feel proud for being strong enough to get through all the shit we were dealt. Hope that answers your question and helps anyone who reads it.

I don't think any other song had such a big impact in my life. I was a severe alcoholic for about 15 years of my life, until listened this song and realized I wasn't the one behind the wheel, I wasn't in control of my destiny; it was fear. Addictions are the "cure" we find for deeper traumas. I've been sober since I listened this song for the first time, eight years ago.
this song always makes me think of Surfs Up and it was one of the best parts of my childhood. growing up in a family where my mom and dad always fought, i would grab the dvd and play the movie in my room. when i went to the beach with my older stepbrother i would always put on the Surfs up playlist. i know its cheesy but this song and the others from that damn movie helped me cope and learn to love all kinds of music. thanks.
First heard of this song in highschool. I just turned 30 and i appreciate this song more than ever. With all the big decisions, responsibilities, risks, commitments etc, there really is a fear of uncertainty. Fear gets me stuck sometimes and this song snaps me out of it. When this song plays, i like imagining myself marching on to "adulthood", braving whatever comes, with a beer in hand.
My favorite song of all-time. The best songs have a deep meaning to them, not some empty BS like most songs. As a former Uber/Lyft driver and current long-haul truck driver who was once penniless, homeless, jobless, and directionless in life, this song speaks to me.
+kirwi kirwinson Music in general can be an incredible source of inspiration. Music is Art. It holds so many complex emotions and themes, and much like a painting, can be interpreted by the one enjoying it. From this particular song, I noticed themes of overcoming weakness or perhaps addiction if the wine metaphor is to be taken literally, growing as a person, and most importantly seizing control of one's future. That's some pretty powerful stuff, and the raw emotion people draw from music makes an excellent reservoir to tap into when working to produce the necessary creative "building blocks" that we artists need to work with. As an aspiring writer, I can tell you right now that I cannot write without music. It gets my brain moving and into a mode that identifies words and their meanings, and it helps me construct metaphors easier. When I need ideas, I listen to very powerful music that evokes strong and intense emotions. When I need to write about something and describe it, I listen to Hip-Hop/Rap of the complex lyrical variety because hearing complex rhymes and language skills helps me to construct better sentences. I know a lot of people dismiss Rap as mere audio pollution, and don't get me wrong a lot of it is, I'm a serious Rap snob, but don't underestimate the power of the mind and the complex rhymes it can create. Story-Telling Rap is my favorite kind. I love hearing someone paint a picture in my mind with words. The moody and/or eclectic beats, the artist's raw emotive speech, the complex language skills uses to produce mesmerizing stories... there are some truly talented individuals out there. I couldn't imagine what my writing would be like had I never discovered such a powerful source of inspiration. So don't limit yourself or others to a particular type or style of music when immersing yourself in the creation of art. People seek inspiration from so many different sources; music, their lives, other forms of art entirely, all of it valid and immensely powerful.
21 years later. Most of will be fine and survive this bye the way, it will just be crazy for awhile. Then it will be in the history books and life will go on
This song is so profound. I loved it when it was released in 1999. Now 23 years on, I wonder if we have learned anything about letting our fears and addictions control us?

Lyrics Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear And I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear Take the wheel and steer It's driven me before And it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal But lately I am beginning to find That I should be the one behind the wheel Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there with open arms and open eyes Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there, I'll be there So if I decide to waiver my chance To be one of the hive Will I choose water over wine And hold my own and drive? It's driven me before And it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around But lately I am beginning to find That when I drive myself my light is found So whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there with open arms and open eyes Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there, I'll be there Would you choose water over wine Hold the wheel and drive? Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there with open arms and open eyes Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there, I'll be there

What I find hilarious about all the people who post negative comments about Bands or other entertainers on RUclips is that they take the time out from their "So called" busy days and important lives to come online searching through numerous video's of artist they say they don't like for all the comments where others post what they find good about them and dump their nasty comments and outrage out as if other's are not entitled to their own personal opinions about what they see as talent and great songs to listen to, we are all entitled to our own opinions just as they are. Why should anyone fear expressing their opinions because the internet is filled with bored and brazen bullies? It just show's the mentality of someone who hasn't grown up, or doesn't have their shit together enough to show respect. Ignore the A**hole's, it pisses them off more to see that it does you what their opinions are... Remember why you're here, to enjoy the music, not for the entertainment of Bored Bullies... Namaste and Have a great day... ;D

To the Classicals such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky!!!!! And of this generation Hanson, Duncan Sheik, Seether, Fuel, Evanescence, Hoizer, FKA Twiggs, Eric Benet, Carl Thomas, India Arie, Glenn Lewis, Erykah Badu, Van Hunt, D' angelo, Angus & Julie Stone, and of course Incubus!!!
I'm 36! I agree Bud!
hey,a tleast you had some best days, not everyone is as fortunate as that
38 years
It all depends on you!

There's just something about the combination of turntables and acoustic guitars that works so well! Wish there were more songs like this.

Happy to see new Incubus fans, been listening to their songs since I was 15 and Drive is one of my favourites (easy to play solo and sounds great with a band). It sounds fantastic back in 00 and sounds great now still in `23.

Rebecca C I feel you, went through the same, this was my jam when I was a teenager. Still is 10 years later. Love yourself, love life, live without regret!
Rebecca C Why'd you stop?
A.I I stopped because I learnt how to live in the moment and take it one day at a time. I try to see the good in everyday and after a while you realize life really is worth living. I didn't do it alone tho... medication settled my mind... my counselor got to the root of my problems and my family and friends carried me through. I still struggle with myself but I have come so far. things get better... we grow and look back at our old self and can feel proud for being strong enough to get through all the shit we were dealt. Hope that answers your question and helps anyone who reads it.

Danny Koko That is weird there is no reason, I hadn't even heard this song since about 2002
That's what I'm saying. It's been forever, and to both randomly come here to listen to it. Definitely odd!
It's always a fav and one that reoccurs in my mind as well...just a good theme and good spirit to it, a song that has a vibration attuned to my own spirit.
You all do realize that an incubus is a demonic male sexual spirit right? And when you listen to this you are inviting demons into your minds.
This song reminds me of my childhood that's now gone. I would play this over and over and sing and dance in my room. After we moved countries I've struggled to stay happy since, but this songs at least brings me happiness (and a weird sadness) for 3 minutes and 53 seconds. Forever gonna be one of my favourites.

+kirwi kirwinson incubus is avant garde enough my friend
People seek inspiration from so many different sources; music, their lives, other forms of art entirely, all of it valid and immensely powerful.
i have no memeries from 2000 just from 2002

What a powerful message to hear nowadays. I’m listening through the whole album “Make Yourself” again for the umpteenth time, and damn...it’s still so incredible. Takes me back to some great times in my life. Whatever tomorrow brings, we’ll be there with open arms and open eyes. Much love from Texas to everyone.
Must play with Mother Father of all creation our creators incarnate in earth in flesh!❤ Welcome home = joyrains
This has got to one of, if not, the most visually appealing music videos I’ve ever seen

The first time I listen to Incubus I was 16 and I got so obsessed with their music, 3 months after that they announced they were going to Peru, I bought my ticket and all I can say is that that was one of the happiest days of my life. Incubus is all that is good in this life!
Beef reminded me just how much I've always loved this song.
My father literally left songs for me after he took his life .
And this was one of them
He loved this song
I’m so so sorry
@@MariahSueGroulx thank you
If you're dad got into some INCUBUS HE WAS DEFINITELY A COOL GUY,...sorry 4 you're loss
@@lambchopz817 thank you
It was jus so difficult getting a play list after he passed.
I didn't realize hw much he was hurting .
I still feel like I'm trying to put pieces of the puzzle together of his pain
Including everything he highlighted in his Bible
This song lights a fire to my soul and speaks to my heart.
💙
Yes! 💯
I used to chef at the cheesecake factory awhile back
Incubus! Brandon, your lyrics are so enlightened.
This song still gives me the feeling I CAN conquer all the loss and trauma. "But lately I'm beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel."
Yes, this song I found on found on Mother’s Day. It felt like she was speaking to me through this song- she died on 1/29/17, when I was 15.
So sorry for your loss@@zachparker1468
This group is so underrated. One of the best musical groups of all time.
I'm with ya. 101 mill+ views is still underrated talking Incubus :)
Millions sold
Like 2 or 3 top 1 at Billboard 200
So many hits
And underrated? I don't think so. I even read ppl saying they were a one hit wonder...
Malia Laguisa totally
You have definitely overrated them.
You gotta listen to more music
I was 7 when this came out and it was played constantly on the radio and TV. Even now this song still hits home and helps people when they hit rough times in their lives.
Same here
