London to Perth - Qantas' longest flight in business class

- It’s the first scheduled direct non-stop service between the UK and Australia and when it launched Qantas hyped it up like nothing else. So now that it’s had a chance to settle what is this ultra-long-haul flight really like? And how does flying non-stop compare to the traditional one-stop services via the Gulf and Asian hubs? Join me to find out.
At just over 9,000 miles the London to Perth route is the 3rd longest flight in the world. What makes this one unique is that it links two previously unlinked continents - Europe and Australia. (I assume in a post-Brexit world the UK has not declared itself a separate continent yet!)
I fly from London to Perth in the comfort of Qantas business class on the 787. This business class flight review on the Qantas 787 covers the entire Qantas business class experience from the Qantas lounge at London Heathrow right through to the inflight service and landing at Perth Airport.

You are such a chilled out, honest and extremely polite and kind man! Best flight reviewer by far!!!!!
Thank you, that's really nice.
Look dick wad, we don't want people moving around and spreading diseases. We want the suburbs locked down, we want state borders locked down and we want countries borders locked down. Only a hater of the Aussies would want otherwise. Keep the borders shut and stop the mass movement of peoples otherwise your children will suffer you piece of shite.
I agree!
When your Scottish living half way around the world, gives you goosebumps hearing a wee Scottish accent from the hostess x great video x
She was really lovely too.
@@DennisBunnikTravels I bet she was... eh, EH?
😂👌🏻
That was a Scottish accent. But cannt think where.

**TWO** “cheers, here’s to a great flight” in this video?!? We’re blessed
Okay, this is one year later, Dennis , in early October 2020, after 8 months of non flying. I cannot help but notice how rightly positive this review is, like most, if not all your reviews. To fly is a positive experience, regardless of some of the shortfalls, as travelling is privilege and a joy which if shared with likeminded people is a delight. Note your videos with Jeb and the Wollongong medio Paul, which I reckon have the same message: enjoy while you can and thank the people who look after you in the air as they are working whilst you are not.

Oh yes, Skippy! Was also a HUGE star here in Norway in the 70s. Still remember running inside whenever the iconic words rang out on the telly: "Skippy, Skippy, Skippy the bush kangaroo!" :)
Same here 😊
I’m from Perth (like if you are too!) I completely agree with Dennis, if you live on the west coast, it’s a no brainer, but if you’re from the east coast, It would make more sense to go via Singapore, Dubai, Doha or Bangkok as you have to change no matter what
Blah, blahhhhhh

Just had to watch this as I so need a long haul flight fix. This is a great way to cover the distance. We had to be virtually dragged out as it was so comfortable!! Roll on 2022😷
Love your reviews, one of the best airline reviewers on youtube, very thorough (hand showing space beside seat, prefer warm nuts to canape etc) and clear. Love it!
American here. Looked up Skippy the Kangaroo. Did not disappoint, especially the fact he was so beloved in Norway that a chain of shopping centers(!) were named for him. For a kangaroo.
I was brought up in the UK in the sixties and I remember Skippie. I like the way you touch the aircaft on the right of the door before you enter as a good luck token. I've been flying for over 50 years and I always do that. I was spotted once by a cabin steward who said " So that's your good luck charm then" I said yes, and it has a 100% success record so far.
Another great review, pleasant, succinct and to the point, best flight reviewer out there.
Skippy was big (for a Marsupial) in the UK too!
I seem to remember another kids' program about time stopping when somebody threw a Boomerang!
I tracked it down, it was called The Magic Boomerang! 2 seasons, 1965/6.

Good morning Dennis,
No I wasn't brought up in Australia in the 70s and 80s I was brought up in the UK in the 70s and 80s, and sadly, I am all too familiar with Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. In fact when I am walking with my dogs that annoying earworm of the theme tune often comes into my head! Great video Dennis, keep them coming. I don't get a lot of chance to fly, so I have to enjoy the flights along with you.
Cheers, many thanks.
Thanks mate - that tune knows how to burn into your memory! :)
Dennis, Wonderful review. Thanks
Greats videos as always Dennis. Keep up the fantastic work.
7 and half hours sleep on any flight is phenomenal. Tough to manage that even in first class.
zolpiden?????
I swear that's the only way people manage the 17-hour economy flight from London to Perth. Good lord what drugs are they on to sleep in those 17-inch wide seats? I want some ony my next jaunt from Vancouver to Brisbane.
agree indeed. I once flew business with emirates, on a A-380 (i was just lucky enough that I got an upgrade at the airport) and i probably slept 1-2h on a 14h flight.
Even though I was in business, I still hated that flight. I hate flying, it's the most uncomfortable experience and way of traveling.
Out of all 1st & business class pajamas offered on any major carrier Qantas nailed it with dignified appearance and soft comfort! Well done. ☺👍
Another great vid from you, my friend! 👌 Looking forward to your next vid 👌 Hope you enjoyed that QF flight
Awesome review. I enjoyed how it was so down to earth and still interesting.
Great review, comments, heck - everything Dennis. The nod to mom was classic!
2019 is the year i will finally make it come true, thanks for that extra motivation, you have no idea how much this motivates me to hustle & focus even more! Enjoy!
I sincerely hope your plans where successful. I've planned to go May 2021 fingers crossed. Saving the extra to travel BC totally worth it. At 5ft beds and leg room more than ample.

This is what a review should be like. Simple and nice. Thanks:).
For a 17 hour flight a double "Cheers! Here's to a great flight!" was definitely needed lol Awesome vid Dennis! I really want to try flying Qantas now. Especially for that coffee.
Re watching. Loved watching Skippy on tv. Hi from Scotland
Really enjoy your videos. Very upbeat and honest. Good pace and editing too.
Love your vid, great footage. Thanks for sharing mate! :)
I just saw your review - wow! so good! Mate, merry Christmas and keep up the reviews! :)

Great video review Dennis really enjoyed it 👍. I'm definitely wanting to fly that long haul non stop to London.
"Flying Downhill" Well done. At first, I subbed for the "Cheers, here's to a great flight". Now, I'm just in it for the dad jokes.
Koppy i loved thattoo, flying downhill 😂
you get so lucky with the weather. Your views out of the windows are
so clear.
Dennis great vlog !
One of the few I missed over the last year of binging !
Thank you for sharing the direct flight.
Respect to the amazing cabin crew.

Finally flying British Airways from New Orleans to Heathrow next week. Not as long as your flight, but one I've been waiting to do. Enjoy all of your videos very much!
Just discovered your channel. You’re fantastic! Amazing review. I can’t wait to one day fly Qantas business class!
I like your reviews funny and honest.
Nice Dennis. I always love flying into LHR and especially seeing that Concorde. Apparently it's just used as a storage bin inside, though, and it's full of crap :( Nice seeing those three QF tails there too!
Thanks mate - yeah that view on the way in is sensational. Pity about the Concorde - it needs to be put on proper display within the public areas of Heathrow so people can get up close and really check it out.

Detroit-Amsterdam-London-Perth-Adelaide, honestly Dennis you're a trooper!
Thanks - actually started in Vegas the day before and overnighted at the airport hotel in Detroit. Won't be doing a milk run like this again in a hurry.
@@DennisBunnikTravels for your youtube channel have you considered upgrading to a Sony Mirrorless camera that films in 4k (1440p minimal) like a Sony A7Sii or Sony a6500 with a good external lens attached that has a low ' f ' number? Sony mirrorless 4k cameras film much better in-low-light than your current Panasonic HC-VX1 and (the Sony) has an external audio port to put a 'Rode external Mic with DeadCat Cover' for better audio. Aviation travel videos surely has to be in minimal 1440p so the viewer can feel like they are actually there with you
Skippy in the 60s in black and white in N.Ireland. Used to take six weeks by ship from the UK to Adelaide for a tenner. Many, including my Aunt spent over a decade saving up to bring the family back to the not so sunny UK. Still cant get my head around you can be in Oz in less than a day. Great video Dennis.
Thanks for great video.
What an awesome review. I’m taking this exact route to/from PER to LHR January. Business class it is. I was hesitant, but the benefits outway the costs. I am officially subscribing. Thank you Dennis.

I’m about to take my first overseas trip which will be business class from Australia to Denmark and your content on flights I find to be excellent. So happy 😃 days, thank you for a job well done
Would like to try this. Great video upload.
Always entertaining as usual. Flying downhill on a red tail with a roo is the best feeling on Earth.
Never seen the BA Concord there, just left last week and Always love the mass of wide body BA aircraft there
what a great flight sir,, really enjoy watching this
I love your video, Well done!!! super video I enjoyed it very much.

Brilliant presentation..would love to do this way to travel
Great video and very informative. Thank you. Will check out if you have any videos from Seattle to Adelaide via Qantas business class.

Excellent review Dennis. Starting out in Vegas and ending up in Adelaide. You are a tough one. Most flyers would not try that run. Thank you for doing this for us. I guess Skippy didn't come to the US.
Riesling!? On a flight?? I’d lose my mind. My favorite!
Get that with Lufthansa in short flights in economy
This trip is on my bucket list.
QF crew are the best . Loved flying for them..28years of fun laughter. Retired now
The connection to Melbourne from Perth on the same plan made it easier heading home from London 2 years ago
Doing this flight in Y in 3 weeks. Excited. I’m short & used to the economy seat body concertina.
Did the Perth - LHR back in Autumn, and was looking forward to seeing how it was.
Very popular flight I gather and I ended up in an Economy middle seat. But didn’t think overall it was too bad. 105kg & over 6 foot. Got out for a stretch and took in the fluids.
Very sensible and substantial main meal. Fell asleep approaching the Southern tip of India, and awoke at the other side of the Middle East.
Landed at LHR during a quieter spell, before the rush hour, and it felt an extraordinary experience disembarking having done this Journey non-stop.
This is the way to go…
Great video once again.
Hi Dennis, This is the 1st time i have watched your channel and may I say how professional and informative it is, this has been a good insight into Qantas and how they operate. I am hoping that maybe later this year I will be able to go to Australia for some R & R, and with it being so far away I would go Business Class, I am currently in Middle East Working so not as far as UK but far enough. Thanks again for your review. I have also subscribed to your channel.
Great review…..great video! We are doing this flight shortly! Do you get to keep the pj,s….love the pj shirt 🙌🏻
Fabulous you have a new subscriber!😍

It amazes me the time we live in ( yes i know we have been able to do This for decades) but being able to travel across the world, severel hundred people, eating stunning food, drinking and sleeping, while travelling at almost 1000km/h.

Thanks Michael, really appreciate it.
Hey Dennis great video. Just wanted to know if you can do a video on the same sector but in Economy ?
That pre-meal libation had you half in the bag. Your eyes were looking pretty droopy, mate!
