    In Premium Economy there is a trick with the pillow. The pillowcase is designed with a long slit across the pillow. This means you can put the pillow ONTO the headrest, so the pillow won’t drop out of place. It will even stay jn place when you curve the headrest in. Also, if you have a aisle seat, the external wall can drop down which makes it easier to enter & exit the seat, you can turn to out your feet into the aisle before standing. Saves you grabbing the seat in front of you as you stand.

    My father tells the story of being on Qantas in the 1980s. It was a massive 747, and he was the only one in the steward's section. Every 45 minutes, the steward kept offering my father a beer. He became rather insistent.
    "Sir, are you SURE that I can't offer you a beer?"
    Not wanting to put up with it every 45 minutes all the way across the Pacific, he caved. The steward gave my father a beer, then sat down next to him to have a beer, himself.
    Apparently, it was Qantas policy that you're not allowed to drink on the job, but you're also not allowed to let a customer drink alone. The steward REALLY wanted a beer.

    • @JE-dv2ms
      @JE-dv2ms 17 часов назад

      Even in the 80's flight crew were not allowed to drink even 8 hours before duty and never on duty. So either this was embellished or the steward wanted to break the rules.

      @@AnneMB955 Flights are usually not bad, however trying to sleep in their Business class is like being rolled in a sleeping bag with no room to move. Many airlines with more space for business and first.
      However, that's not the main issue. The customer service is abominable. Just look at all the horrendous reviews of people waiting on the phone for sometimes up to 6 or 7 hours. And you can't send them an inquiry because they don't respond for weeks and sometimes months, and by that time it's too late. If you are not able to make changes online/app, then you are screwed. I fly a lot and have been experiencing this for the past few years. I did like QantAss about 5 years ago, but naw, compared to other airlines they are pitiful.
      Good for you to have loyalty and good experiences. But when flying dozens of times per year, just having to deal with their customer service even once or twice repels you.

      I’m glad he doesn’t show the price because at the moment they can fluctuate madly within hours. I booked two premium economy seats for Melbourne Australia to LAX return a couple of months ago with QANTAS, while I usually fly business I couldn’t justify the costs of the ticket for a 14 year old. Today I was able to upgrade for both of us to business for AUD$1200 each in addition to the original booked seats. Outcome thousands less than it was when originally booked.
      If he told you the price of the tickets it may either put you off all together or disappoint you when you can’t get the same price. A little bit of research and work can make a real difference with any airline at the moment.

      Edit: worth noting... for my London-Singapore leg, is was in the bulkhead seat, row 31, and the entire rows screens had no audio. The row rehind row 32, was empty, so after takeoff i popped back a row. The row was empty because those screens were broken. So i read & slept my way to Singapore.
      I asked about changing my Singapore to Sydney seat. I was given an apology, and comp'd some FF points, and moved to 32F (same seat Liam had). On that flight all six defective seats were sold to unlucky customers. I was disappointed to see Qantas knowingly selling those tickets.

    There is a trick with the pillows in PE. There is an opening on the back of the pillowcase that is the length of the pillow. You can slip the back of the pillow case over the wings on the headrest. This way, your pillow won’t move or fall down. Also, for the aisle seats, the outer wall can drop down, so you can turn & put your feet into the aisle. Makes it easier to get up & down out of the seat… reduces the need to ‘pull’ on the seat in front of you for leverage.

Sure i've had a few cancelled flights between Canberra and Sydney, which is not ideal, but better than other airlines who have cancelled flights and can't fly til a day or two later. Then there was a LATAM flight that got cancelled while taxiing on the runway and i was stranded for over 24 hours. I had no issues with refunds or credits during Covid either. QF has just recently (and controversially) banned filming on board without “prior approval”. They have said they have done this to protect passenger and staff privacy, and actually stated that they don’t want their staff to be filmed during an incident and to go viral. This will be detrimental to the reviewing community - as all future reviews of QF will be pre-advised, and therefore staged &/or sponsored. Which I suspect this video is anyway. There are currently some real problems with QF service and dated hard product in some aircraft - none of which are mentioned here (no mention of the filthy tray table in economy - yes we saw it)- just glowing praise. And what luck you got a brand newly refurbished A380 on all of your flights. Amazing luck. Please confirm if this trip was sponsored by Qantas?

    • @kierannelson2581

    • @mangoes-corn
      @mangoes-corn Год назад +8

      I don't think this video was sponsored per se, but there would have been filming approval and "assistance" of some kind - i.e - getting a cleaner, newer A380 vs others in the Qantas fleet. And as evidenced by the empty cabin when Nicky did the seat tour, pretty obvious he was given advance boarding to film while the crew were probably doing their pre-flight checks.

    One thing I like from Qantas whether I am in which class is the sense of Home. The cabin crew treat the passenger like part of the family. Especially, the cabin announcement.
