It appears that the eyewear company that I featured in this video has entered administration and is being restructured. Please DO NOT order any glasses from them. If you have ordered and not received them and you paid by credit card then your credit card provider (bank) should be able to reverse the charge.
At some level, premium economy reviews are the most interesting now (even despite the aircraft with premium economy typically having fewer premium economy than either economy or business class seats), simply because while longhaul economy class is basically completely standardized across airlines and there isn't that much of a variation in business class products, airlines are still figuring out what exactly premium economy means. Some airlines treat it as economy with a better seat (same catering etc.), while there are some that have almost treated/do almost treat it as business class but with a recliner instead of a lie-flat, with the remainder somewhere on that continuum.
Your new videos are a highlight of my day. You're always so warm and friendly but softly spoken and it is a great way to wind down. You come across as a great travel companion - someone with fine taste but also enjoys the simple pleasures. As a father of a 2yo and a 3mo my travelling days are behind me for quite some time but I enjoy living vicariously through your reviews. So glad you got through the pandemic.
Thank you, that's so lovely. My kids are at the other end of the scale at 21 and 24 but I remember the younger years fondly. Enjoy every moment and thanks for your support. cheers D
I must try this. Good Premium Economy like this is like Business used to be. Emirates are good and I love the A380, easily the most user-friendly aircraft in the skies. Emirates deserve their success.
Looked like a nice flight. Did Singapore a380 premium cabin last week to London and the two main differences I can see were that the food looked better on your flight but I had better headphones provided on Singapore air. We also didn’t get a hot towel. Little things I guess. Still was pleasant too. Thanks for the video!
Good to see you looking well , the resurgent travel industry is good for you and it shows in your face 👍. The cabin looked really great and one to consider on my next flight to the UK from SYD . All the best Dennis and here’s to continuing good business .
EK413 has always been my favourite flight out of Sydney. For years been using this flight. I think nothing compares to the vibe of Sydney Airport at night and an all night flight. Its been interesting for me to see how the economy seats on the A380 have evolved over the years since I first started flying this route!!
Hi Dennis.I’ve just watched my first video of you’re trip to Dubai from Sydney.Very well presented and very informative and done with a smile too. Keep up the great work 👍
Great video Dennis! Good to see the PE product on Emirates. In a couple of weeks I’m doing ORD-LHR via the American 787 PE product and the return on the BA A380 PE product. Looking forward to both, especially the A380!
I was looking forward to finding out more about the Emirates PE, so thanks for posting this. I have used the EVA PE a few times from the UK to Thailand, so this gives me a chance to weigh up whether to stick with what I know, or go for an alternative (although I do prefer a single flight rather than having that half-way stop).
It's been a few years since I flew EVA's PE, back then they were about the only airline offering it. The food was horrible, I learned to order a Kosher meal as those were always very good.
Love Dennis' teaser for his next review Air France La Premier. The seat head rest and lamp gave it away prior to Dennis announcing it. Keep the reviews coming Dennis love your work 👍
Love Emirates… was upgraded to Business Class pre Covid… really enjoyed sleeping from Perth to Dubai… the food was amazing. Dennis, you are so handsome…❤❤❤😊
Very nice review from Sydney. Australia to Dubai flights on Emirates are always excellent. Done it many times from Melbourne all on the A380. I find it hard to sleep on aircraft's which is why I prefer the 5-6am departure than the 9-10pm departure on this route, becuase it gets me to Europe in the night where I can have a good night sleep on arrival in Europe.
That's my main complaint with premium economy: Passenger in front of you reclines and you're completely stuck. Had a Virgin flight where the guy in front reclined from take off to landing, even while dining. Horrible experience. Now I only fly either economy, business or first. If they had an exit row in premium that would be great (recline disabled)!
I concur, it’s totally horrible if the person in front of you reclines. Tried to ask the guy in front of me to put his seat up a bit and hissed at me.. ha ha ha! That side I will avoid economy by all means.
Yes, Sydney’s First Class lounge is wonderful. Been there 3 times now. Flying Emirates in 2 days from Melbourne. Interested to see this vid. Glad it popped up. 🇦🇺
Great review. I have booked 34J and 34K to Paris in May. Booked as soon as available in September by phone to get these seats. All sectors Premium Economy seats are all booked out now for my dates. Partially available ( eg. not all sectors ) cost another $2000 more than I paid. ??? So if you are thinking of booking Premium Economy you need to get in as early as possible is my recommendation. PS. Economy seats on my dates are now $2500 less than I paid for Premium Economy, up $1500.
I just flew the same route, the price tag upgrading from economy to premium economy $3500 is not justifiable, and that was just to Dubai! Overpriced definitely!
I checked the airfares with Emirates from SYD-DUB around May ( should not be the peak ) and these are the results ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$1,973.00 without travel insurance $236.00 PREMIUM ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$4,149.00 without travel insurance $236.00
Love your videos, you cover all the bases I and most likely everyone wants to know about. Food, lounge's, flight and yes in that order. 😃 Thanks and happy travels.
I’ve sat in a slightly older version of this seat recaro pl3510 vs 3530 and it is very comfortable. Flew it on iberia from MAD to ORD and it was very comfortable and I’m a big man.
Thanks Dennis great vlog about PE class on Emirates A380 ...Im doing the 18hrs trip from Auckland to Dubai in Sept so now looking forward to this ...Cheers
Looked awesome Dennis. Having discovered BC there is no going back lol. We did Emirates A380 BC recently from Singapore to Dubai, then onto their 777 BC. We found it to be too big and impersonal. Much preferred our A330 Qantas BC flight to Singapore if I'm honest. Food and service was much better which surprised me. But it feels wrong to complain if flying BC. I'm sure you would have, but if you haven't try Turkish BC. Blew all the other BC we have flown, including Singapore Air. Singapore A350 would have to have the hardest seats for sleeping going around. Never again.
Yes very difficult to go back once you've flown business. Have only flown Turkish short haul but heard great things about their food. Agree that the SQ long haul business class seats are poorly designed - unless you only have one leg and then they are pretty good.
Great to see you in the air again. Congrats on having the row to yourself. Your experience with the seat reminds me of my last international flight pre-pandemic in Dec 2019 when I was flying qantas business from Johannesburg to Sydney. I’d used 37,500 points to upgrade my flight. My seat was broken and couldn’t recline at all let alone into the flat bed. When I got home I requested a refund of my points. Qantas gave me 7,500 points back. So in their view the seat was worth 7,500 and the food and wine was worth 30,000. Very disappointing response. I miss the first lounge but I’ve spent the intervening period getting virgin platinum status. When my qantas platinum expires next year I won’t be aiming to renew it as I have now had multiple problems with qantas domestic flights in the past two years. As soon as I use my remaining flight credits I’ll be avoiding them. I do really like Emirates though. Loving their version of premium economy.
Just flew Emirates A380 from Gatwick to Bangkok via Dubai. Just could not imagine doing a straight 14 hours in economy on this flight . Especially if it was a full flight like ours was .
Oh, been there, done that around a month ago. 6 hours Zurich to Dubai, then the reverse of this flight (14 hours Dubai to Sydney), then still had the 3.5 hour hop across the ditch home to Wellington. The flights were better than I was expecting (winning empty seat roulette on ZRH-DXB helped!), but still absolutely shattered by the time I got back home. If you're looking for a really tough 14 hour flight, QF63 from Sydney to Jo'burg is it. It chases the sun: departs SYD 09:30, arrives JNB 15:30. Good luck getting any sleep on that one.
Dennis Bunnik, Thank You for sharing this lovely video. The interior aircraft setup looks comfortable. Am sure you had an enjoyable flight experience with delicious food and excellent inflight service. Hope to get a chance to experience one day.
Dennis thank you so much for your fabulous reviews. So well done & thought out with loads of info. When I’m sitting in my pjs dreaming of my next flight, your videos are a balm until that happens. Btw what headphones do you have? I have to say Emirates look like they’ve got a winner here as far as PE. 14 hours NOT in J seems like torture but this seems to be a great product. Thanks for the lounges as well. Xx
It’s funny that the seat - the focus of all the advertising - is actually the worst part of EK PE. We also did the SYD-DXB leg, and had problems with the leg rest and found the seat cushion to be quite unforgiving (surprisingly, the economy seat is actually more comfortable, albeit marginally smaller). Service and soft product was excellent - But they really need to get the seat design right if they want this to be a winner. Service 9/10, space and layout 9/10, food 8.5/10, seat look 10/10, seat functionality and comfort 7/10.
Love this video as allways. I hope to fligh one day with Emirates again and hope to fly premium. Everything Looks Great! Love from the Netherlands Dennis😘🇾🇪
Having flown Emirates twice in their business class. And found the onboard dinning at best rubbish. Was interesting to see their new Pre-Economy food. Defiantly and improvement on the B/C food I was offered. Maybe they have pulled their socks up. Did find their lounges food very good though. If only they did a non-stop to where I travel, I might use them again. Until they do, having to be stuck for hours in Dubai for a long hall flight it isn't going to happen.
Until PE on any airline is in a shell that does not impede passengers behind I don’t see the point , especially as PE fares on the higher profile carriers seem excessive compared with BC on some others. Also The pitch is better than economy but not by enough , not anywhere near enough . PE has a place where it’s priced say 30 percent more than economy because I reckon you get about 30 percent more for your money
Great video, as always! The Emirates lounges really are under recognised. I was in AKL a month ago and the food especially was lightyears ahead of the QF and NZ lounge. I've possibly forgotten what the food is like in the QF First lounge but while you have to serve yourself in the EK lounge, there's probably more variety. No booze on boarding? But otherwise it does look like a really good product! As you said, the food was well presented!
I agree mate, the EK lounge food has always been well above that served in other lounges. The no booze before take off was an interesting one - from what i remember SQ served sparkling in plastic cups so at least these drinks were served in real glass.
Hi Dennis, a belated thank you for your tip about access to the Qatar first class lounge when flying in Qatar J from Doha to Cairo. Is the same true when flying from Doha to Madrid, also in J. Your presentation of an A 380 flight is always worth watching ( at least a couple of times) Trust you were on this trip with at least 50 clients!?
Great review. Looks like a wonderful product. The light leather seats look stunning, but I can't help to think about what they will look like in a few years. You'll see every little stain on it I can imagine.
Interesting video - thanks. I fly out of Manchester (UK) to Asia, previously with Emirates in economy - I happen to fit comfortably-enough into an economy seat. Recently my wife and I flew to Singapore direct from Heathrow, and we did find the long flights - 13.5 hours there, 15 hours return - very hard and uncomfortable (we're both retired). So I'm think that when we do another trip to Singapore we'll use Emirates Premium Economy, both for the comfort on board and the break in Dubai. It'll have to be from Heathrow, however; no Premium Economy from MAN. Maybe one day they'll it - there are 3xA380 to Dubai daily, and they fill them.
I love it this video. I've flown first, business, and economy but never premium economy. This certainly looks more like business than economy but the key factor is the price. Is it worth the upgrade from economy or downgrade from business? I suppose it depends on the deals. I love following Dennis, Jeb Brooks, Paul Lucas, Josh Cahill, Noel Phillips and now Steve Marsh is doing flight reviews. Never a boring weekend.
Well worth the upgrade from economy to premium . Just did the London to Dubai route in the new premium class.very comfortable and the food is great. The legroom was the big plus for me. Highly recommend..
@Bewlay Brother yes, I forgot to say it was the Emirates “big mother” A380.. as I call it…the foot and calfrests were fabulous touches too. The cocktail bar is in the business class in the upper deck at the rear. Have made a couple of friends from my last travels sipping champagne up there.
Ive flown Emirates Premium Economy in 38K. One thing to mention about the window seat is the distance between the seat and window. Row 33 and 40 have a small gap between the seat and the window, but the gap increases on rows 36/37 due to the curvature of the plane. I am 6'4 and had trouble reaching the window to sleep. The passengers behind me mentioned how lucky I was to just reach. They tried and couldnt.
Thanks for the review, we are flying premium economy from Auckland to Dubai later this year - can’t wait. They don’t offer this though from Dubai to Amsterdam -😢
Great review Dennis, love your coverage of regular things. I'm 6" 2 and find smaller planes uncomfortable for leg room at times. Can I ask how tall you are as you seem to have heaps of knee space in your videos ?
Great video, will be very tempted to use premium economy.we are off to Dubai in January from Manchester, but they don't have P E on this flight.but in the future, let's hope they put it on the A380's that run from Manchester (UK) Giving us some great ideas Dennis.👍
On a 14 hour flight, I think seat functionality and internet are pretty big issues. For that particular flight, I would have rated it 1 star less. However, I'm sure Emirates will get those issues sorted out. I was very impressed with the catering and the overall design and layout of the premium economy cabin. I would definitely consider it. Also, I love flying A380, any chance I get to do so, I take it.
Premium economy is basically what economy was 20 years ago, people now just pay more for the same experience. As a backpacker 20 years ago flying economy in the cheapest seats money could buy I got hot towels, amazing service and lovely food. You still get amazing service and good food but flying now depends on your focus, do you want an experience or is it a means to an end? For me I want a convenient safe mode of transport that gets me to my destination, I’ve paid the extra for premium economy and honestly it isn’t worth it.
Great review Dennis. PE looked very empty, so less people is a good thing. Having en empty seat next to u, also helps a lot with comfort levels. U didn’t mention Seat Pitch ! Is it 38” or 40” As u said, if u sit at window, and person in front of u, reclines back, it’s very hard to get out, without needing the person on aisle seat to get up. No Internet working is a big fail. A lot of footrests and seats not working properly either, is far from ideal. Emirates need to fix all this asap ! Your attached link that reviews Qantas A380 in PE, was from 3 years ago. This is the old seat configuration. All Qantas A380 coming back into service have had a full upgrade of BC & PE. ✈️ 💺
Wow, very nice video, another level than mine very well mounted. Interesting is that the lounge is very similar to the one in Milan, but in Milan you can access directly from the lounge if you travel in business or first class
Thanks for great video Dennis. I find Premium Economy to be hit or miss but this looks great. In your opinion, is this worth the usual 60% up charge versus normal economy? Lastly, was this a media flight or normal scheduled service with paying passengers? I won’t ask if you paid for or Emirates invited you as most bloggers don’t like to disclose this.
It is not 60% upcharge , according to Webjet a flight in May ( the height of their summer ) is below I checked the airfares with Emirates from SYD-DUB around May ( should not be the peak ) and these are the results ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$1,973.00 without travel insurance $236.00 PREMIUM ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$4,149.00 without travel insurance $236.00
Touching the fusalage and thanking the jet was touching. To all the hard working people at Airbus, and sub contractors, who designed, built and maintane it. Planes might be inanimate objects, but they have a life and character of their own.
My husband and I travel often and always fly what we call “cattle class”. Yes, there’s nothing outstanding about economy but the way I see it, it’s 24 hours of being cramped and then we’re in Europe again. We could stay in a really lovely 5 star hotel in London for a week on the difference in price between economy and business class. Business class in Emirates entices me because I always want to sneak up those stairs at the rear of the cabin but to me it’s the massive jump in price that really sets it apart from economy. It’s a big price hike. So in that regard PE interests me too. The food definitely looks more appetising and I like the addition of bubbles but there still isn’t much more space in PE. It’s still not a flat bed and it has no privacy. Is it really worth the extra cost? Would I pay the extra $$$ for slightly better food? I don’t think so. Good review though.
Emirates is always the best flew Melbourne Dubai Zurich London dubai bangkok sdy During my Europe Trip, should say it was a phenomenal experience Lots of other destinations with Emirates Flying across the Globe … EK makes flying easier and feel good 😊
Toilets, Dennis, toilets! I notice that your friend Jed even managed to say toilet in his review of a bus trip I have just watched, and he has been brought up on bathrooms. Seriously though, an excellent review. PE on Emirates looks very comfortable though I am not good at sleeping sitting up, so I am not sure it would work for me on an overnight flight.
It appears that the eyewear company that I featured in this video has entered administration and is being restructured. Please DO NOT order any glasses from them. If you have ordered and not received them and you paid by credit card then your credit card provider (bank) should be able to reverse the charge.
Oh dear...
Are they the same with hexagonal ones you normally wear on your videos?
I love winning ‘empty seat roulette’. Nothing better than hearing the announcement that the cabin doors are closed.
Hahahah yes it’s belly tingling 😅
😂😂😂
Another great review
I enjoy being a magnet for 'poor man's First Class'.
So true and the greatest travel gift 🎉
At some level, premium economy reviews are the most interesting now (even despite the aircraft with premium economy typically having fewer premium economy than either economy or business class seats), simply because while longhaul economy class is basically completely standardized across airlines and there isn't that much of a variation in business class products, airlines are still figuring out what exactly premium economy means. I have Flown with Emirates for over 20 years over 50 flights, I cannot fault one, they are the Best,

Its been interesting for me to see how the economy seats on the A380 have evolved over the years since I first started flying this route!!
Dennis you do the very best job of describing the flying experience! Well Done!
More like Qantas J class seats - very good
Hi Dennis.I’ve just watched my first video of you’re trip to Dubai from Sydney.Very well presented and very informative and done with a smile too.
Keep up the great work 👍
Great video Dennis! Good to see the PE product on Emirates. In a couple of weeks I’m doing ORD-LHR via the American 787 PE product and the return on the BA A380 PE product. Looking forward to both, especially the A380!

Dennis is such a nice guy. And his reviews are thorough and super interesting to watch. I love it when ever there is a new Bunnik Travels video out.
Thank you, that's really nice, appreciate the support. cheers D

Love Dennis' teaser for his next review Air France La Premier. The seat head rest and lamp gave it away prior to Dennis announcing it. Keep the reviews coming Dennis love your work 👍
Great review. The colour scheme is very well done, it looks comforting. The food looked appealing and plenty of it.
Love Emirates… was upgraded to Business Class pre Covid… really enjoyed sleeping from Perth to Dubai… the food was amazing.
Dennis, you are so handsome…❤❤❤😊
Wow that cabin looked stunning! Thanks for yet another inspirational review
I love the Sky couch on AirNZ, nothing better then lying flat on a flight. The food was excellent as well.

Another class review mate! Flying premium from LHR to DXB in December! Hope the service is as good as ur side of world was!
Excellent video as always! The Emirates premium economy service is very impressive. I hope you had a wonderful time in Egypt :)
Thank you Dennis for that great video on the Emirates A380 premium economy. I am considering flying to Europe in the next few years. Thank you.
Great premium economy review and products. Thanks, Dennis.
Very enjoyable review :) blown away by the premium economy meals! They look better than some business class catering!
I can assure you that their not. Business class food is a thousand times better than premium economy
@@TheWelwyn21 of course :) but I have seen some reviews of dodgy business class. Wouldn’t want to be paying premium for some of the meals I’ve seen
Looks like a great Prem Economy product. Thanks Dennis as always

Great video. Thanks for flying with you. One question : which music are using during the descent part ?
Royal Doulton without the handpainted periwinkles was a bit let down, but still on the bucket list
Can’t wait to fly Emirates again!

Great seats , great food, great staff....equals great flights !😆
Dennis as always fun and informative
Premium looks good except in the middle where it is still 4 seats
Premium Economy is always like that in the 777.
Excellent review!
We booked the same flight same class to Dubai next June . We looking forward to our holiday . Thanks your video
Great video, im on EK415 Thursday, can't wait
Great to see you hope you are ok. Brilliant vlog thank you - Kevin & Cyndy UK
Thanks for reviewing it! It was really useful😉
I enjoyed this video. I have never flown before but was interested at what was going on inside the plane.Thanks.
Great information about this Premium Economy option when Business Class is not affiordable. Thanks - best wishes from Jomtien Beach Thailand.
I hate to admit this, but Dennis’s haircut is really nice…and I’m gonna steal it!
thanks :)
Nothing better than waking up to a Bunnik video!
They are Islamic so you probably have to ask for booze
Looks like a great experience.
I checked the airfares with Emirates from SYD-DUB around May ( should not be the peak ) and these are the results
ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$1,973.00 without travel insurance $236.00
PREMIUM ECONOMY / RETURN AUD$4,149.00 without travel insurance $236.00
Thanks for another great review Dennis!
Thanks for this! Frequent flyer on Emirates. Was wondering how this premium economy class. Thanks!
Great video, will be very tempted to use premium economy.we are off to Dubai in January from Manchester, but they don't have P E on this flight.but in the future, let's hope they put it on the A380's that run from Manchester (UK)
Giving us some great ideas Dennis.👍
On a 14 hour flight, I think seat functionality and internet are pretty big issues. For that particular flight, I would have rated it 1 star less. However, I'm sure Emirates will get those issues sorted out. I was very impressed with the catering and the overall design and layout of the premium economy cabin. I would definitely consider it. Also, I love flying A380, any chance I get to do so, I take it.
Agreed
Great video Dennis. I just made a booking on EK Premium Y!
Question not covered was how much space remains if the passenger in front fully reclines their seat?
Premium economy is basically what economy was 20 years ago, people now just pay more for the same experience. As a backpacker 20 years ago flying economy in the cheapest seats money could buy I got hot towels, amazing service and lovely food. You still get amazing service and good food but flying now depends on your focus, do you want an experience or is it a means to an end? For me I want a convenient safe mode of transport that gets me to my destination, I’ve paid the extra for premium economy and honestly it isn’t worth it.
Flew Emirates Business from Dubai to Kuala Lumper on Jan 6 EK 342 and we sat in 9A/ 9B just excellent on every way !
This looks like a great cabin, especially when travelling on those long 12+ flights
Great video!
Was looking forward to viewing your opinion on this new emirates product before I book it. 👍🏻
Thank you for the video and your happy smile!
Great review Dennis.
PE looked very empty, so less people is a good thing.
Having en empty seat next to u, also helps a lot with comfort levels.
U didn’t mention Seat Pitch !
Is it 38” or 40”
As u said, if u sit at window, and person in front of u, reclines back, it’s very hard to get out, without needing the person on aisle seat to get up.
It is not 60% upcharge , according to Webjet a flight in May ( the height of their summer ) is below

6:13 WHY??????! 😩
Touching the fusalage and thanking the jet was touching.
To all the hard working people at Airbus, and sub contractors, who designed, built and maintane it.
Planes might be inanimate objects, but they have a life and character of their own.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to mine next year from AKL-DXB(!!!)

Thank you this will help me out with my plans.
Thanks mate doing this very soon can wait😊😊
Emirates is always the best flew Melbourne Dubai Zurich
London dubai bangkok sdy
During my Europe Trip, should say it was a phenomenal experience
Lots of other destinations with Emirates
Flying across the Globe … EK makes flying easier and feel good 😊
Toilets, Dennis, toilets!
