Well honestly I've been met with the same kind of friendliness on board a BA flight to JFK before. The flight attendant and I had some really nice chats about being a flight attendant and how great it is to fly etc.
Watching this video stirs up all kinds of emotions, from the flight number, to gate 1 being the Concorde's gate at JFK. If ever my wife and I can work hard enough to afford this route it would be an amazing treat. Thank you Sam! All of your videos give us AV geeks a lot of joy!

One of my friends got nerve damage from such a long flight in a terrible seat. We did however get to sit in the jump seat for a while and chill the pilots, both cool dudes. Will never forget it.
I've always wanted to try this service! London City Airport is a small field but the service on-board makes up for it & the short runway makes for fun landings. Great review as always. You got me more excited to try this service in the future!
London City is my favourite airport in/out of London. usually prefer to land in Dublin and transit from there into the City if I must. saves on Heathrow landing taxes.
@@dansnn8378 which I'm aware of. However, landing in LCY obviates the incredible landing taxes of Heathrow and one of the easiest transits to London is landing in DUB --> LCY. Usually can save around 300-400$ that way.
It's really shabby these days. I mean easy to please RUclipsrs might like it. But actual business class travellers know that it's been going down hill for a couple of years. The plane and interior is so tried and the general service is lacking. Unless you really must fly from LCY, departing from LHR you get a much better product.
Sam chui you are great at what you do brother. Your aviation vlogs are so inspiring. I am starting my Pilot dreams! Let’s travel together. Jordan and Malaysia vlogs coming soon!
Hi Sam. I try and keep up to date with all of your travels. This one particularly drew me, as my wife and I traveled on BA0001 out of LCY to JFK via SNN back in 2011. It was one of the most special flights we have ever taken. Back then, there was a small Club City lounge at LCY too. That day, there were a total of 12 passengers on board. Clearing US customs and immigration at SNN was so easy, simple and fast. By the time we had completed it, the A318 was ready for boarding again and as you said, arriving into JFK as a domestic passenger was heaven in comparison with the normal wait due to the large number of international arrivals. Our return from JFK was on BA0116 a B747 on the Upper Deck, which we both loved, but the A318 and BA0001 will always hold a special place in our hearts. Keep up the great work.
Now this is a flight crew I would love to fly with. Thank you for this video and showing the exceptional customer service from this British Airways staff and sharing your experience on this beautiful plane.
For pilots both were quite vague, the other captain when asked about it being the smallest commercial transatlantic, answers "Oh I;d say so.." after thinking for a while...
@@NidgeOSullivan Probably is as well A318 transatlantic is something you do see everyday but only by British Airways. I don't think a smaller plane would fly this distance. This video touches on a couple of points of wider relevance: Dublin, Ireland's main airport is positioning itself as a hub for people from parts of the UK who might otherwise have to fly to and through Heathrow. Flights are cheaper, avoiding the high UK air passenger tax, and, well, it's not Heathrow. And travellers to the USA from Ireland (Dublin or Shannon) go through US customs and immigration very quickly and easily before departure [my maximum waiting time - less than five minutes] and avoid the lines on arrival.
I just love how intimate this flight is! I flew out of City Airport once, to Zurich, and I loved it. Everything was done fast: check in, boarding and takeoff, even though it was crowded. I wonder why this flight is not landing at LaGuardia Airport instead, since it would be a great advantage for business travellers. Great job, Sam!
You know I just love this idea of all business class. I do hope other airlines like Emirates would offer an all business class A350. The one regional All Businesses Class I would love to see is the Airbus 220.
