Unreal right!? I think he looked at one reference for spider man and drew everyone else from maybe photographic memory and experience ....a true master!

The grid is to divide the image into 8 different comic book covers. The variant covers were sold in comic book stores as an incentive to the regular covers.
I think what sets Kim Jung Gi apart from everyone else is just his work ethic. All the guy does is draw. He does it so much that he’s developed a level of confidence most artists just don’t have. Think of something you draw a hell of a lot, like an apple. I’ll bet you can draw an apple with a brush pen about as well as he can. Difference is he’s been at it so much that an apple is just one in thousands of things he can draw without worry of making a mistake.
Dude is just drawing this, not even sketching and trying to figure out forms and space. Its like hes a human printer. I did not once see him waste a single stroke of the pen. Must be a super power.
+Tou Xiong He did some planning. At the beginning of the vid you can see the rough sketch he used to plan out the drawing. As great as he is, he might have needed to create a layout, since the piece is going to be split into multiple covers.

Wooooow. He is the Efren "Bata" Reyes (the billiard "Magician") of drawings. All his practice is seen in his works. No pencil lines as guard. What a waste that he left us too early.
The most impressive thing to me is he did this in one sitting. Why hasn't marvel tried contacting him to illustrating their comics. He is better than literally all their artists.
it's probably because he's a world-reknowned artist who makes his own comics, illustrations, hosts seminars, and travels the world doing painting shows and art galleries... imagine how much money it would take to have this guy on your payroll.

Kim Jung Gi, the Eight Wonder of the World!
Angles, perspectives, proportions, character and imagination. Gotta be the hardest to inject in the mind of an artist.
