      The grid is to divide the image into 8 different comic book covers. The variant covers were sold in comic book stores as an incentive to the regular covers.

    I think what sets Kim Jung Gi apart from everyone else is just his work ethic. All the guy does is draw. He does it so much that he’s developed a level of confidence most artists just don’t have. Think of something you draw a hell of a lot, like an apple. I’ll bet you can draw an apple with a brush pen about as well as he can. Difference is he’s been at it so much that an apple is just one in thousands of things he can draw without worry of making a mistake.

    Dude is just drawing this, not even sketching and trying to figure out forms and space. Its like hes a human printer. I did not once see him waste a single stroke of the pen. Must be a super power.

    Kim Jung Gi is a master at drawing. It's incredible he did it all free hand with now planning or mock ups. just baam on the fly.

      +Tou Xiong He did some planning. At the beginning of the vid you can see the rough sketch he used to plan out the drawing. As great as he is, he might have needed to create a layout, since the piece is going to be split into multiple covers.

      Yes he did plan out the scene but he didn't actually have any sketches on the paper that he was drawing and that is really hard to do without having the proportions messed up.

    I think persons like him have a perfect photographic memory. Like in music, the perfect pitch, artists like him have this hability of recording details and proportions... it is a gift, not just a life dedicated to drawings. Otherwise, any elder artist could be able of doing the same. So... don´t be so self judging... But... a bit jealousy is inevitable...

      +Vasko Comicnews he's done this type of shit a holy shit amount on sketchbook bigger boards and even filled quite big walls....he's done it so much that he reached a point where he dosnt even need base sketches when he looks at the white board or wall or paper he can already see the finished image....he said it in one of his translated interviews

      +Vasko Comicnews Kim Jung Gi pictures about 80 - 90% of the drawing inside of his mind before he draws it on the paper. All the lines, all the placements, almost everything is already done in his brain. He just has to make sure his hands put the lines where he wants them to be.
