Great overall assessments! Given that the chassis is solid mahogany, for a small investment ( pickups, full-size pots etc) you could have a stunning instrument at a fraction of the cost! it’s a shame they place the Gibson logo on them, they deserve ( imo) a brand name all of their own! Thanks for enlightening me! 😎
I just got a angus young sg thunderstruck ( chibson) junk tuners, junk wiring, junk pots and switch, and jack, however the wood is good, the frets are good no sharp edges, i put in new harness, new pkups, shielded the control cavity, graphtech bridge and tail piece and graphtech locking tuners, now i have a sweet guitar!!!! Still under 1000.00
Cathy Zhong is still building guitars. Her group builds and stock builds are really quite good. Her one-off custom builds are still good, but you can tell her shop is quite busy, and the attention to detail has suffered a bit.
Hi there. How about anti-feedback anti-microphonic noise with stock China P90 PU? Do you think usable for loud clean tone chord work in a big band jazz rhythm play?
@@Chibsonchannel-k7q For example P90 ES-125 jazz guitar. I'm afraid of microphonics because monitoring amp very close to me in rehearsal room. But seems to no need worrying. Thank you.
Chibson is bullsh-t!! it's a rip off. If they want to sell guitars label them "Chibson" Instead they want to rip people off. People who buy them and then try to pass them off as the real Gibson just so they can rip someone off for a thousand dollars. It's a cheap Chinese knock off and your bullsh-t for trying to promote them!!!

That's great. And proves a good point. The basic husk is all good. I'm sure it plays great now too👍

I had a custom built earlier this year. Good quality build. I've been also getting guitars from P4M, their builds are very good👍
Wow!

The P90,s on the guitars I have here have fairly high output. Certainly not microphonic. They may be little hot for Jazz tho?

So you're saying they're easy to pass off for a real Gibson, at half or even a third of the price. Wouldn't that make Gibson the rip off?
