Well, no scp agent ever shot at him, since he was pretty cooperative hadn't many issues with the scp foundation copperating with him. But when everything went down and he didn't get more help he go back to his old manners, so this last agent could shot him if the ocation shows up

Imagine how sad Murphy must be after the deaths of the eye pods. Sure he got rid of 049 and got control of the whole facility again without 049’s creations (maybe). But now he’s all alone…

I like how everyone is talking about how sad the eyeballs dying was, but then there's me, chuckling at the idea that 049's grand come back after being shot in the face, was to just trip Murphy over lmao

I only saw SCP-049 attacked by his "Zombies-turned-flesh-monsters", but not getting turned himself. Small chance he survives. I still want to see him in a future entry.
SCP-049 with half his face missing, all his creations gone and probably a really insufficient body from that stock to his side...
Yeah it'll be cool to see him in an entry after this event (if he survived (I hope)), and he may have finally found the perfect cure for whatever pestilence thing he's been talking about AFTER the re-containment of SCP-001.

@@fawkewe he is an SCP and despite how much the foundation learned about him he is still somewhat surrounded by mystery, who knows what kind of things he could make to survive, its not like he had hundreds of years to create his cure to the pestilence we still dont know about
@@fawkewe I would have to agree with Erwann. If you had followed this series, in one of the older entries, the "Old Man" was also unaffected despite being bathed in the "Sunlight". I wouldn't exactly call the clothes he wears as "completely covering". Being an SCP, the Plague Doctor's physiology might be affected differently or not at all. Unless they give an outright statement he was affected, he's "Schrödinger's Doctor".

Bad news: Since SCP-999 is realy friendly and makeing contact with humans and befriend them is it's primaly source of happines it means it lost all of it's friends and it's wery prolably all alone.

This was nice and all, though there were some things that are odd.
1) SCP-049 was noted to be resistant to bullets. That gun did a very large amount of damage.
2) SCP-049 was also noted that as long as you were not deemed "infected", you were fine since he wasn't a hostile SCP until then, and even when deemed infected, he acted as a doctor and regretted the outcome most of his patients have. That's where I'm a bit confused with how 049 has acted here.
Where in his article does it say he's bulletproof?
Perhaps after When Day Breaks happened this was the pestilence he was always talking about. Therefore everyone was deemed infected. And he used his zombies as tools to get people to try and cure. Curing meaning the sun no longer harms them?
I don’t know. I would’ve liked to see the Plauge Doctor’s reaction to When Day Breaks. How does he interpret it according to his worldview with this “pestilence”
I am sorry that you have a very rose color glasses view of 049. The only thing that he cares about is his research about "finding a cure". Just because he speaks politely and is normally cooperates with staff. Doesn't mean he's a good person. Hannibal (from the movie/books silence of the lamb) was polite and was cooperative. That doesn't make him a good person.
049 used live humans for testing, and they were aware and fully awake and could feel everything that was done to them. Even after all that they went through they can't even die and are turned into one of his creations with no free will of their own.
So please tell me why you were surprised by him being the "bad guy" in this story?

Honestly, i didnt expect 049 to be a villain in this story, i kinda imagined him using his touch to murder the flesh monsters and try to rebuild them into humans. Like you did an amazing job with 106, now i am curious what happened to 096 in all of this.

I kinda feel bad for 049, simply trying to continue work on his cure. I don't think he even knew what was going on considering how surprised he was when his creations melted in the light. And he was given a horrible fate. having half of his face destroyed has to be painful along with seeing all of his work destroyed in seconds. Also it wasn't 049 who killed the eye pods, it was the huge cured that destroyed both of 131.

I have to admit, after seeing how you've used 049 in other stories, this was a bit of a surprise. Like, I wasn't expecting him to be the hero or anything, but the fact that I can genuinely say that I like 106 as a person more than 049 in the context of this setting? Really wasn't expecting that.
Though frankly, I get the impression that this was deliberate. This subversion of expectations made 049's villainy all the more memorable here.

But I don't understand? If the plague doctor was aware of the situation then why does he need to kill everything and everyone? There's no point in curing the pestilence when 98% percent of the people with pestilence were killed by the sun

Yea I mean we know he can communicate with others telepathically, maybe he can convince a flesh blob to take a humanoid for so he can fully possess it. After that what would he do next? I was hoping that SCP 049 would have been the good guy in all of this.
I was kind of hoping there would be a twist at the end where 049 reveals the creatures he makes are immune to the sun, and that the inherent pestilence in humans is what allows the sun to melt them.

Saddly 053, 096, etc even with their regenerative abilities, they can't change like 682 so they are part of the flesh out there :'(
All non-biological scps maybe are not affected by the sun and they still out there, that means 079 and 173 still alive :D and maybe 250 too

I love the day break's stories, all of them have a simple premises but amazing execution, if I could recommendation something, I'd love to see what Samsara is up to, being the most elite Mtf and all
Just as good as the other parts, I honestly love this one to be honest. It’s nice to see that not every SCP is now friendly. I also love the fact you can see that Murphy was pretty mad once the 131’s were killed. Also love the fact that 049 isn’t seen being.. y’know.

I love the fact WDB has so many fun and interesting angles for you to work with. All the SCP you can bring into this always cruel and dangerous world due to the sun. I hope this series continues for a while and you give tin bits of hints on what caused it as well.

This is the main issue I had with this story too. I first thought 049 was acting like this because he was already sunlight touched. That sadly wasn’t the case.
Well his one and only motive is to just "cure" people and nothing else.
@@ember2933 We dont really know why he cures people or what he is trying to cure them from. The relation between him and the mask he wears is also interesting since that other scp(which is a sentient mask) says that the guy wore him previously,
I feel like 049 is Volgun’s territory. I know it’s not but I just don’t feel like it’s my place to expand on 049’s backstory like I have with 106 and 682.

Who would've thought that scp-049 was the person who started Gene editing to make the thunder warrior prototype that the Emperor would later perfect.
That was amazing, so intense, I love seeing more of these. It really puts things in a fresh perspective on how “When Day Breaks” affects everyone including the SCPs.
That was so good, the illustrations practically made an animation in my head while listening to the story.

@@sebastiengendron6427 doesn’t the sludge want to convert people? I mean they’re basically dead but that conflicts with his whole nature maybe his mind gets replaced with the hive or he operates in some other fashion or doesn’t get affected by the sun I dunno

@@feralmonsterlover8421 The flesh is guided by collective mind, and it's trying to change the whole biomass of earth into part of itself. It's quite similar to SCP 610. Also that's undoubtfull that people turned into SCP 001 A, are keeping some parts of their personality, but wasn't said how much, so in that form they are more primitive, and unable to create culture. Of course, the main clue is fact, that SCP 001 A is a giant blob of flesh, and sarcitic cultist are trying to spread flesh

I think the sarcitic's would view it as a bastardization of the flesh, there goal wasn't for people to become a hive mind per say but instead become for instinctual, what the flesh mass is is more of a hive mind that's unhinged and subservient to the sun itself. In every dimension where the sarcitic's win they then build the world to their liking, but in this one nothing is being built, it's all just a dead world with a tide of flesh on it.
Damn... I cant even imagine that little ones pain... Poor little guy...
