I wish the kids were adopted, it would be a cute explanation for them not having powers and it could generate some emotional conflict (them not feeling like real Justin's children because they don't have powers), but then they discover they indeed have powers and that their (or one of their) parents was also a wizard like Justin, surprising both them and Justin.
@@HanielCN I also thought the show could have worked with Justin being still the headmaster of WizTech, maybe he could have his family living in Long Island while he lived in the magical world or maybe he could have a double life only going to the magical world for work but then his sons manifested their magical powers so he would finally tell them the truth so Roman and Milo could go study in WizTech where they would meet Billie, or maybe Justin and Giada could be divorced parents we don’t get to see many of those in Disney shows
I think stepkids would have been good too, given that Justin had very little time between the series ending and their birth to meet their mother and create them.
the fact that this is one of the rare cases where ALL of the cast would've jumped in and they still decided to make it all about Justin really bothers me. I mean, Jennifer and David created a whole podcast about the series to just be guests in the sequel
@@SiabeysmentI doubt it. They probably thought he was the safe choice. Since they’ve been speaking openly, Selena’s had drama and a huge career outside of Disney, it makes sense to me
to be fair before the original show came out it was supposed to be about Justin as the main character and then they casted selena as his sister and felt like they’d get more viewers with her as the lead. so this show was supposed to his second go at it where it is “finally” more about him
Agreed! It could have even played into a "found family" type of thing, if they wanted to. (Him helping out some ~troubled kids~ at the school. That would even play perfectly into his goody two shoes thing, as well as his relationship with Alex!) Or if they really wanted, just make his kids attend as his students and get into hijinks. What we got is just so generic, there's no major reason for it to be set in a magical world at all
Honestly tho even Max awakened his powers during the show, so it's def possible. Although I don't really mind if they don't have them since it creates some different dynamics than we've seen before.
Max was written in around 12-13 so I think the chances of Roman getting his powers is still very possible it came with puberty/maturity. This is also Roman and Billie perhaps he's a "late bloomer".
Glad someone else felt the same way about how open and loose they are using magic in public They took forever to tell harper they were wizards and Billy told willow after knowing her for a couple hours
tbh it could be what differs Billie from Alex, Alex was raised in the human world and therefore, understood her limitations bc despite her usage of magic, she knows that she's in a world where that isnt used, whereas Billie having grown up in the wizarding world, is used to using magic daily.
@@paintingdreams290 yeah I think this is it, in the original we met a family that had kept that secret for years and was careful about it, they were more aware of the risks, in this new show we meet a girl who didn't have to live hiding her magic and kids who didn't know magic existed until recently so they don't know much about the rules yet, and Billie just randomly revealed to them that she was a wizard by making a monster appear in their bedroom.
My explanation for Justin's kids not having magic was that Justin wasn't supposed to have powers because he lost the competition, so he can't pass them down. Then, they gave us the "magic sometimes skips a generation" explanation and I was like "I think my theory made more sense, but okay". Maybe his kids will manifest magic in the future as a plot twist and that's why the explanation is so simple.
Didn’t they said magic skips every other generation? Which to me doesn’t make sense cause if Kelbo, Jerry, and Megan have magic, then Alex, Justin, and Max shouldn’t have ever had magic. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen the show but I could have sworn they said magic always skips a generation
i wonder if that comment by Roman was meant as a joke, bc Roman isnt actually well aware of magic and therefore, mightve made assumptions. I believe it's probably bc Justin wasnt supposed to be one which also would explain why Justin, Max and Alex ended up w magic despite Kelbo being the family wizard, he wasnt meant to be.
@@Ella_A_Starthat's why at first I thought Justin's kids didn't have powers because Justin wasn't the family wizard. But then, they say that powers sometimes skips a generation and I was like "sure....."
@@noemicp I don't know where people get the idea that just the family wizards can have wizard children, I never heard of that and in the show neither Kelbo nor their aunt have kids, but in the italian side of the family there are kid wizards according to the Alex vs Alex special, I honestly thought and still think that Justin did something to supress their powers either on purpose or by lying to them it delays the development of their powers
@@patax144 they didn't clarify it in the original series, but Jerry was the family wizard before he gave up his magic to marry Teresa and they still had 3 children with magic. And because Justin wasn't the family wizard and his children don't have magic, I just assumed that only the family wizard passes the magic down. Until they said that magic sometimes skips a generation.
honestly all of these “plot holes” can be explained so easily imo… i wish they’d just take the time to explain it… it’s been 12 years and magic in that show changes constantly, it could easily be explained why portals have seemed to be replaced by mirrors, or why justin got to keep his powers… people were already fighting to end the wizard competition, what if the competition doesn’t exist anymore?
I kind of hated Billie and Winter’s friendship because it was obviously supposed to mirror Alex and Harper’s friendship but their relationship was so well-developed that comparing Billie and Winter with them feels almost insulting, Alex and Harper were friends since they were little and always got each other’s back and even so it took Alex a whole season to decide to tell Harper that they are wizards, but Billie just met Winter and decided to tell her she was a wizard right away, and I also think it’s messed up how she was introduced as Roman’s best friend but then she ditched him the moment she met Billie so she is definitely not as loyal as Harper, actually seeing Winter ditching Roman to spend more time with Billie felt more like when Alex ditched Harper to spend more time with Stevie
Every time a recorded audience cheers at someone the adults knows, I always love to think about the ACTUAL target audience’s reaction. “Huh? Why are we cheering? Are we supposed to know who this guy is? Did he win an Oscar or something?” In the case of the pilot, I thought “oh, he’s the dad? There’s this other show I was watching and no one cheered when the main characters’ parents walked in the room in the first episode.” And it makes me remember all those times it happened when I was a kid like Dolly Parton’s first appearance on Hannah Montana.
There was an episode of iCarly where Emma Stone was crazy extra and they did one of those cheering pauses when she came into the scene. When I was younger I was hella confused and when I rewatched it I finally got it 😂
I’m really disappointed that they didn’t reveal that Justin’s kids are wizards too, because the show would be so much funnier if they were, I thought there was going to be some sort of twist when they used some magic object and they would find out it wouldn’t have worked with them if they weren’t wizards, specially in the 9th episode when Billie gave her powers to Roman for 1 hour, it would have been the perfect opportunity to reveal that he is also a wizard by having him successfully making magic and to realize right after that the time was up and he did that using his own powers, they said in that episode that “wizard magic might skip a generation” but it really doesn’t make sense that if so they wouldn’t have mentioned that in the original show specially because their father Jerry gave his powers to his brother Kelbo so he could marry Teresa and he was already a mortal human when his kids were born and they were all wizards, but Justin married Giada who is a mortal and he is still a wizard and his sons aren’t? Did the writers just decide that Roman and Milo wouldn’t be wizards so they wouldn’t have to worry about a Family Wizard Competition in this show?
I 100% agree, I still hope in season 2 they reveal that they do have powers but that they took more time to manifest, because Justin lied to them or something. Or that he somehow turned them off just to keep lying to them, and when Billie showed up he didn't unlock them, because he felt guilty about lying about them having powers. Justin's lie has to be the culprit somehow.
I really wish the new show was at Wiztech. I feel like an interesting conflict would be that Justin didn’t win his wizard powers from the family so he couldn’t pass them down and now he, as headmaster, has to pretend his children have powers as they grow up in the wizard world and attend Wiztech.
If they get a season 2, I would love if Justin's wife and Alex had a conversation like "hey alex, thanks for keeping my secret." "sure thing harper, that's what friends are for", revealing that Giada is actually just Harper and Alex had changed her appearance or something lol
@@IdeasBecomeVideos True. It’s not impossible, I can just see why they didn’t go the Harper route (plus Jennifer Stone doesn’t seem to like David Henry all that much 😅 which might have played a part).
I agree with the relationships that it could’ve been done with a mention to Juliet and why they broke up and I would’ve like it in the first episode if Alex had mentioned Mason and if they were still together, also with Giada yes I do agree that it’s a little weird that Justin would marry a Harper lookalike and as we saw in the future harper episode we got a glimpse of Harper’s future and saw that she would go back to crushing on Justin
I have a theory that giada is the big bad wizard. Because she seemed a little TOO cool with finding out justin and alex are wizards. And that would explain why justin didn’t have to give up his powers when he married a mortal like jerry did with teresa. Or did the wizard world make a new rule for that?
About the lair i was under the impression/assumption that its the same lair just different portals like you can enter the room both from the mirror in the russo house and the freezer in sub shop.
That’s what I thought too. Especially since the door that led to the sub shop seems to still be present. It hopefully might lead to possibilities of the characters ending up there at some point; since I think Jake T. Austin has confirmed he will return at some point.
I know it was confirmed that Jake T Austin is coming to the show at some point, same with Maria Canals-Barrera who plays Teresa. So I will be interested to see them when Part 2 of the show comes out.
@@Neo-Queenserenityt2l from what I remember it’s been a huge rule that a Wizard in general can’t marry a mortal. Same with a mortal dating a vampire, or a werewolf, etc. I could be remembering it wrong, but from what I remember mortals aren’t allowed to know about the existence of magic or magical creatures.
27:01 In season 1 the “Wiz Tech” episode part 1 when Alex got to the school for the first time she said that Justin with his glasses & robe looked like “Barry something Larry something” but then said “O never mind” I believe that was the first & last direct reference to “Harry Potter” in the OG series
I kinda like what the show is doing dynamic wise to both connect to but also set itself apart from the original. Because yes, in the original, despite all the magic and wizards and stuff, at its core it really was about the sibling bond.(Particularly between Justin and Alex but yes also Max.) That was the driving force of the show and some of its best moments come when that dynamic is done well. It made it more than just a show with 'magic' that it easily could've been without that grounding. This show seems to also be holding to having a familial dynamic as the core. Only if they did the same thing it would feel like they were just doing the same show again. And if they don't have it, the show looses its grounding. So, instead of having a dynamic between siblings be the core, it really seems like a more parent/child dynamic is the focus. There's real potential there with Billie and Justin's dynamic considering the fact that he essentially just adopted her without legally adopting her. How does she feel about suddenly having a parent figure who is also her teacher?(Because presumably, she seems to have been an orphan for a while. Since Alex said she has no one.) How will Justin balance still taking care of his two biological sons while also helping Billie? How will Milo and Roman handle having to suddenly share their dad with Billie? How does Giada handle all of this? Will we get some girl bonding with them? I understand that it's Disney so they are a bit limited with how much they can do but there are kids in similar situations, minus the wizard stuff. So i think there is a unique opportunity to do something that really resonates with them. There is so much potential here and if they do it well, this show could be amazing. Now here's hoping they do it well. Haha
i thought the casting for justin’s oldest son (i forget the names im sorry) was so PERFECT like something about this little guy is so justin-y, the acting like all shows with kid stars i hope will get better as the show goes on, because the line delivery in scenes where there are no adults feel so awkward. i dont think i let out one laugh during the kid’s scenes but when justin was in a scene i was laughing so much, he is such a funny character im so glad david henrey could channel that energy again after so long. another thing i found really strange was by episode 2, the girl wizard (im sorry again) and justin’s oldest were already so close and i mean both emotionally and physically (like theres scenes where i was mentally telling young justin MOVE BACK AN INCH GIVE THE GIRL SOME SPACE) like if this random girl just moved into my house and was doing magic i would need a lot of questions answered first before getting that close with her. i am kinda sort of excited for more of this show especially if the writers take the criticism and fix some things
I so hope that Justin’s kids get powers in Season 2, then have to go to WizTech to learn the basics of magic that they never got to learn unlike the other students, and possibly allow Billie to have a second chance at WizTec, and maybe have Justin get his job back
We watch all of the same things I see you EVERYWHERE from IG to RUclips lol but no I feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!! I’m not gonna lie although I enjoyed it something feels like he didn’t really want the old cast back like that
At the same time I’m excited for some of the revivals/sequel shows, I’m also peeved at how badly the ORIGINAL shows got treated. In the case for Disney Channel, there was The Owl House, The Villains of Valley View, The Ghost & Molly McGee, etc. This era for children’s media in general has been crap since Andi Mack got cancelled and the live action Lion King became the highest grossing animated movie ever. Thank god Inside Out 2 outgrossed them! As is, the show is decent overall but it’s definitely struggling to make sense of its’ existence. I AM glad they kept up with SOME edgy humor because I’ll never forgive Disney+ for canceling the Lizzie McGuire revival and then making a parental control option to allow R-rated content😡🤬
This is a pretty good reboot! I have been following Wizards of Waverly Place for a long time sans a 4-year hiatus from 2012 to 2016. Plus, we all have been following the Music Support Group Academy Turtle Creek Marching Band since these characters and our Pittsburgh’s Perfect Parties clients are members of the marching band, however, the drum majors look almost exactly like the junior/senior drum majors from my freshman year at Highlands High School. Plus, “Malagueña” was one of the songs featured in the halftime show this year.
I'm so peeved VOVV got cancelled. Truly VOVV is one of the best things to come out of Disney Channel. And while it was nothing really special, I'm also upset about Pretty Freekin Scary getting cancelled too. It was a fun thing to watch and I really enjoyed the creativity. I also loved all the characters. Could've easily been a classic for a whole generation of weird kids, but it's potential was squandered. Disney has lost its magic for me. They've all but given up on Disney Channel and only focus on pumping out shows for their algorithm on their streaming platform.
Jennifer was also super clear on the pod that she hated that Harper was forcibly shipped with Justin. Idk that she would take a role where Justin and Harper were married if she doesn’t even ship the two
@@Kobe24brady12 Not really. Sure, three characters appeared and it's set after the original series but the focus isn't on it being an actual continuation. It's on giving Justin his own show. That's the literal definition of a spin-off. It's Wizards of Waverly Place...Just with Justin in the main role
@@Kammmmmmmm he was kinda funny, but not as hilarious or eccentric as the other character. We need another original character to counteract Justin’s energy
I also have a theory about Billy: my theory is Billy is either a Orphan or foster home wizard i mean think about it, Billy has trust Issues with people & she get kick out of all of places & she said she never had her own room before so my theory soud very possible & we did have a orphanage wizard before with hugenormous
*I don't know what it is, but all sequel shows or seasons where they change the decor always end up being worse & okay at best.* These are: - Hannah Montana S4 (new house) - So Random! (spin-off of Sonny With a Chance) - The Suite Life on Deck (spin-off of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) - Bunk'd (spin-off of Jessie) - Girl Meets World (spin-off of Boy Meets World) - Jonas LA (spin-off of Jonas) - A.N.T. Farm S3 (boarding school) - Raven's Home (spin-off of That's So Raven) - Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (spin-off of Wizards of Waverly Place) - Lab Rats: Elite Force (spin-off of Lab Rats & Mighty Med) I just wish they could've stayed at the same place/used the same decor for all seasons and re-use them for the sequel series. Also let the actor explain why he/she will leave instead of coming back to it later on. I know it's focused on a new generation now but even for them it would be cool if both original & reboot/spin-off series had the same lore/decor/details. Probably the scripts, where they hire new writers and don't know all the lore..
It's hilarious how Sydney to the Max is the only show that did keep the same setting even tho one half of the show is flashbacks in the 90s. Man, I could be here all day talking about all the shows they screwed over from The Spectacular Spider-Man all the way to The Villains of Valley View.
This is how i would’ve write the show: Justin is raising his kids with his wife. He gave up on being a wizard and lost his powers after the accident. His wife knows that he used to be a wizard but not the two children because he was too ashamed to tell them. After that Alex arrive with Billy, like in the original version, but Roman also start developing his magic powers. He freaks out and after some shenanigans monster of the week appears, they beat him and Justin explains the truth to his kids and accept to train Billie and Roman. In the next episode we will get introduced to Wynter and Billie is gonna join the trio and they will hide it until Roman is ready to tell her. I feel like she wouldn’t understand at first and hurt him but she end up being a good friend. Since Roman and Billie share the lead i would imagine that they have a similar dynamic to Alex and Justin but since Billie knows magic better she is the one who fixes Roman mess. Also i think the final should be about the kids finding that the accident was staged and prove Justin’s innocence so he can get his powers back
I know it’s just a show but I have MANY issues with it. 1. The kids not having powers is silly & their reasoning like you said is absolutely lazy. 2. Alex just dropping off Billie at Justin’s place is so random. It makes no sense because does she not have parents or other relatives? Idk I just hate that she just shows up at Justin’s place out of nowhere. 3. Justin & Giada don’t really sell me as a married couple idk maybe it’s just me. 4. The original series made it very clear that marrying someone who’s a “mortal” meant that you lose your powers. So for him to marry someone who’s “normal” to still keep his powers, just ruins the lore of the original. 5. Justin not telling his family about him being a wizard bothered me. I get not telling the kids but his own wife? I really wanted her reaction to be more upset so upset that she even considered leaving him.
I have the same problems (among others)! 3. I think they sell as a married couple, but not as good, happy one (as show think they are). Especially since they married young and quickly. They are like couple that got married because of pregnancy and is together because they have kids and don't want them to have divorced parents, but not very much love each other or are happy with this situation 🙃 5. That's the biggest one for me. You telling me husband lied about his identify, whole childhood and teenage years the entire relationship. His whole life was centered around magic and it was the most important thing for him in the world. Job experience, love life, social life, home life. Everything was about magic. "Yeah, honey, I lied about that for +13 years". And she's just like "fine, no biggie"? In real life it could easily mean divorce. There would be shit ton of voices in her head "So about what other stuff he lying? Can I still trust him?" etc Also his family helped him lie to her? And no one had a problem with the fact that Justin is living in one big lie? I think it's also teach kids very bad lesson. Justin lying for years about something huge is treated like nothing. Gida isn't even a little angry!
One more comment lol but I do agree that them being married is giving me nothing. They don’t give those vibes at all to me! The chemistry ain’t chemistry’n 😂
@@olakeska7908 exactly I feel like she was a little to forgiving where it didn’t feel realistic enough for me. It just makes their relationship feel so forced for the sake of plot armor.
I just wish it was abt Billie and Alex instead. Have Alex teach Billie since they are more alike. Yes still have them get in trouble constantly but that’s when Justin comes in to try and save the day with him still being the principal. Have the kids think they will never get powers, but surprise they somehow gain powers and becomes a whole family thing. Keep one the goody two shoes
I feel like everytime they try to gear towards adults, they just throw together bland adult tropes from the 90s that removes the life from the characters. There's a reason why some of the old kid shows still hold up for a lot of us. I think just removing the lid on some of the things the shows can do, while keeping the tone in line with the originals is enough. Balancing tones and energy. Adults these days seem to be kids even more than the last generation, so that's something showrunners need to keep in mind
I am enjoying the show so far . I was a fan of the original series and I think that this spin-off/ continuat is good . Also Jake t Austin is returning as max ,they confirmed that
I don’t really like the new Wizards show very much at all. It doesn’t feel even remotely similar to the original show in my opinion. I know a lot of people think that Alex and Justin didn’t change and they have the same chemistry and stuff, but I honestly disagree. I don’t think they really feel like the same characters. For example, there was that one scene where Alex and Justin were sitting on the couch and Alex put her head on Justin’s shoulder. I always thought it was sweet when there were scenes like that in the original show, but in the new show, it just felt awkward. I can’t really describe it, but it just didn’t feel like the sweet scenes in the original show where Alex would put her head on Justin’s shoulder. Also, I didn’t like how the lair didn’t feel the same. I agree that it felt smaller, and of course, they acknowledged that it was smaller because Jerry mentioned that the lair felt smaller. One thing that bothered me was the Wizard world portal door. It looked like a completely different door, and something that some people might not have noticed is that the portal door opens the wrong way in the new show. In the original show, the door opened on the right side, but in the new show, it opens on the left side. I know that’s a pretty minor detail, but it just bothered me. I honestly don’t like any of the new characters that much. I think at least 1 or 2 more of the original characters should’ve been main characters. Since Justin is the only original character that’s a main character, it does feel like a Justin spin off show. I know it’s technically a reboot and a continuation, but I think if it was a real continuation, more of the original characters would’ve been main characters. Anyway, that’s just a few problems I have with the new Wizards show 👍
I really hope that Roman and Milo do have powers. Or something else happened. My personal theory being that Justin wanted his family to have a normal life so he kind of got rid of their powers, like taking the power thingies that was in the episode where Jerry and his siblings had to retake the wizard competition. Also they don’t have to do the wizard competition, I mean if they keep to four seasons Milo wouldn’t be as old as Max was when they had their competition. Edit: I think a lot of the new stuff could just be explained simply with-Time has passed. Pocket elves were never reliable so why not replace them? Using wands to teleport kind of gets repetitive with using their wands, plus mirror travel seems cooler than just a spell. Second Edit: Jake might not be in the series cause he’s on the list with other predators Third Edit: I think Alex just used magic to make the mirror teleport to the og lair.
Ever heard of Every Witch Way? If not I suggest you watch it ^^ It seems like your cup of tea :3 and if so I would love to see your analysis on all the canon ships ^^
Every Witch Way was so good. WITS Academy too. Honestly all those shows Nick were doing back then where they aired an episode each weekday for a month were really good. I'm still in love with The Other Kingdom. It's been nearly a decade and that show getting cancelled still makes me upset.
@@GraceGoodrich5715 Were you watching these shows as they came out? They were the same era. The Other Kingdom is about a fairy who gets a crush on a human guy. She wants to visit the human realm. She's a princess so her dad is against it, but her mother gives consent. Fairies have a "human walk" where they spend 90 days in the human realm. Then they decide if they want to stay in the human realm but lose all their powers, or return home. The girls from Make It Pop also cameo in this. I think they play pixies.
I listen to the wizards of waverly pod where the Harper and Jerry actors discuss how the original was made. I agree that this was a Justin spin off. None of the past writers or producers were asked to return. None of the old characters are a main part of the cast other than Justin. I wanted wizards to return my whole life and I’m disappointed with the way Disney (David Henrie) continued this story. Wizards is one of disneys top three shows ever. It’s sad how Harper and Max were never asked to return when they were much better characters than Justin lol
I really thought that it was Harper in the commercials and I'm really glad that Justin didn't marry her. Even as a kid I thought that Harper's obsession with him was creepy and I'm glad it wasn't rewarded.
Issues I had about The Wizard’s Reboot (I watched the first half of the first episode): 1. The show already had a trajectory of where it was going when the original series ended so it doesn’t make any sense for the reboot to not pick up where they left off and instead make Justin version 2.0 of his dad Jerry. Total lack of creativity 2. Why did Justin marry a Harper look alike? 3. the special effects and house in general felt very corny to me, especially in comparison to the original show
I was initially excited about a *Wizards of Waverly Place* reboot, but the show ultimately left much to be desired. While it retains some of the original world-building, many elements have been altered to the point of losing their charm. The magical world feels less like a cool, intriguing place and more like a string of gags. For example, making Halloween the equivalent of Christmas for wizards feels nonsensical and unnecessarily forced, bordering on cringe. The acting, though occasionally decent, often comes across as overly exaggerated and over-the-top. I understand it's a sitcom, but there’s a way to deliver comedy without resorting to cheesy, try-hard antics. As I like to say, just because it's kids' media doesn't mean it shouldn't aim for quality.
I have a lot to say about how they made the Wizarding World feel more artificial than it already did by the end of the original show but I don’t know where to begin. I should start by saying, *“THE FUCK YOU MEAN, SUE?! HARRY POTTER EXISTS?! HOW?!”* following it up by, “O.K. I could buy the Halloweentown ripoff vibe the original world had, but the Halloween standin for Christmas thing feels forced and unnatural because it’s just one in a stilted gag string instead of actual worldbuilding.” And three, *”If Harry exists, and the Wizarding World in this show also exists, what the hell does that say about the Wizarding World in this show that they needed to rip off their world?! Or, is it autobiographical?!”*
Not having Harper and Justin be married is SUCH a miss! Like you said, it'd make the show feel much more like a sequel series and I just know that the two characters would have great chemistry that would make the show that much better. It would also add such a fun new lens with which to rewatch the older series with -- like imagine watching WOWP knowing they end up together Also, while I would love a mention of Juliet in the show as well, I wouldn't want it to come at the expense of Giada. I'm kind of tired of the "pseudo-cheating husband" trope that I feel like we see so often in sitcoms. Juliet is definitely important to us as viewers and also Justin as a character but I'd much rather have him remember her fondly but without the "she's number one and Giada is only second to her " vibe
i am of two minds when it comes to who justin married. i can see why people would've liked it to be harper, especially since giada is similar to harper in many ways, but honestly to me, harper and justin never had romantic chemistry that way. I'm not saying they couldn't have done it, but in my head, i see harper more as a sibling to the russos. especially when they wrote out her crush and had her and justin hanging out as friends, i thought that's when they were the strongest. and by the end of the show, when harper moved in with them and she started dating zeke, her and justin really had siblings vibes to me, she started treating him more like alex does, like annoyed at him being stupid, the same whay she would treat max. that being said, i think they can definitely bring back harper as a guest role. i think especially since she did move in with the russos and became part of the family, she could relate to billy that way. like i see her being kind of like aunty harper, like her and justin stayed close surprisingly. or they could subvert the trope of like, thinking that her and giada wouldn't get along because harper had a crush on justin as a kid, but they actually really like each other and are like what you thought we would fight over you, please justin, we're adults lmao, and i haven't liked you since i was a kid. also, i really would like to know more about billie and giada as characters, i know it just started, and we're getting glimpses here and there, but yeah like i wanna know about their past, their family. and this might still happen, but i thought that the show would reveal eventually that the boys do have magic. because there is no way they don't have a magical family, having only billy makes it be more like other shows with like one magic person who is the fish out of water, wizards was fun because it was an entire magic family who lived in both worlds
It looks like they'll get caught up airing the show on Disney Channel tonight and will also be airing episode 10 there. But Disney+ says part 2 isn't coming til 2025.
When Billie gave her powers away it could have been an easy call back to Merlin's hat or the wand that only opens things but obviously i know they needed her to lose them for the plot point
28:36 this episode annoyed me because Billie just casually saying “I’m A Wizard” especially with no consequences. Even without her wand y couldn’t she just snap her fingers & make a cupcake appear? In the OG series they were allowed to use hand magic. In the first episode in this series Alex told Billie that the council wants to take her wand away instead of saying that they want to take her magic away which makes no sense. I’m all for new stuff but u can’t make new rules & break the rules of an already existing world
Even those who lose their Family Wizard Competition still get to have wizard kids, there was that guy PJ who studied with them and I always got the impression that his parents were mortals (maybe they were wizards who lost their families competitions) because he wouldn’t be that careless with the way he used magic to do whatever he pleased if he had an authority figure who was more powerful than him, also in the “Alex VS Alex” special episode we see that the Russo family have relatives in Italy and they have wizard little cousins which wouldn’t be possible if only the Family Wizard got to have wizard kids (in that case only one family tree branch would be magical)
@@lauracerqueiramachado8979that it is somehow related to Justin lying about being a wizard and the existence of magic in general, that it either delayed the manifestation of their powers or that in order to keep up his lie Justin did something to suppress their powers. I mean Justin just lying hoping that maybe they wouldn't get powers doesn't seem right to me
I honestly don't have an issue with how certain characters turned out. It makes sense for them to progress the way they did. Alex has always been the type to do good and set an example even if she tried her hardest to be a rebel. I also saw that the Tribunal was in the original series and it made it even more fine with me. The only thing I don't like (aside from it feeling even more for kids than the original) is the lore. I can understand trying to explore a different side to Wizard Lore with Billy actually not being from the normal world. However, I feel like they would have done so much better if they worked with the material from the original and leveled it up a bit. Theres so much that could have been explored from the original, why not use that material instead of making new stuff up?
8:09 yes because it is the only mirror travel plot line. So making mirror travel such a thing in this show makes no sense. Especially since the OG series mirror went to a parallel universe
I think it's ok, I enjoy the dynamics between the children and all of the characters, but would like Justin's kids to have powers, just Billie in the wizard classes gets a bit boring
I watched the Wizards of Waverly place reboot on Disney + and I loved the series so far for having both Justin and Alex for the first episode, for having callbacks and references from the original show, for reminding me of the old series because of Justin, Alex and the wizard lair also I love Billie the new girl because she's very funny and because she reminds me of Alex. I also love the new theme song because it sounds a little like the original theme song and it's the same song with the same lyrics but it also sounds kinda different. I love the rock tune the song has. Also I am a big fan of Wizards of Waverly place i watched when I was younger and it was one of my favorite Disney Channel shows. I also thought Justin's new wife was Harper when I saw the trailer she looked kinda like Harper. I didn't like the sixth episode either because it was too creepy.
I don't understand how Justin could've possibly gotten away with marrying Giada while keeping her in the dark about magic. Like, it doesn't make sense from the perspective of who Justin is/was as a person, first of all (didn't he say in the movie that he basically doesn't know who he is without magic? It's such a huge part of his life, I don't understand how he could connect with somebody enough to _marry_ them without even being able to _tell_ them about it, even if he really is determined to never actually pick up a wand again. The original series went into some detail about the kind of strain it puts on the Russos' close friendships/relationships when they're not able to tell the other person about wizard stuff). But not only that, it just seems... really unfair to Giada?? Because there's no way Justin could've _known_ that his kids wouldn't inherit powers. Sure it "skips a generation" every once in a while (apparently, and even then that's obviously just something this show pulled out of its ass and wasn't part of the lore before), but like? He obviously couldn't have been _counting_ on that. By all accounts, his kids being magical would've been the expectation! Justin seriously didn't think it would be a good idea to clue his wife in that magic is real and their children might have it someday??
the skiping the generation thing seems stupid indeed and I don't think it is real, I think Justin did something to supress the kids's powers and is just covering it up
@moviemelody2210 I wouldn't say so. Jerry didn't lose his job. He gave up being the family wizard. He never lost a job he was passionate about. He never regretted it. Justin's arc is he lost what he was passionate about. It is clear that teaching gives him purpose and he had closed himself off to that due to feeling like he failed. They don't feel the same at all.
@@lafirecracker3249 I think the problem is twofold: First is that they did away with everything the original show's finale set up (as far as Justin is concerned anyway) _before the spinoff even started._ Like, we're going into this show with certain expectations about what we might see (Justin's life as the headmaster of WizTech, him and Juliet being married) and it immediately hits us with: "Oh, that? Yeah no, that all happened but you missed it, we're doing something else now." It's jarring. Even if Justin was headmaster for the first several episodes and then lost the position in the first season finale, that would've been one thing. He still loses the position, but in a way that feels less... insulting? The second problem is that they got rid of EVERYTHING the original finale set up in one fell swoop. It might not have been so bad to learn that he and Juliet didn't work out (again) if he was still working at WizTech, for example, and we still got to see that. Or that he lost the job at WizTech if he was still with Juliet and the show was about them and their vampire-wizard family. But losing _both_ at once, again, feels jarring, like they pulled the rug out from under us. The original writers wrote checks the reboot team couldn't cash, so to speak.
i feel like this show is supposed to be Justin's show only bc David was originally supposed to the main star of the amazing Omalies (idk how to spell it) knowing the history behind the original show and knowing that it was supposed to be David's show until Selena got brought on, it feels too forced. either they should have recast Juliet or they should have brought back Jennifer. I can understand Justin and Juliet being an issue as lovers seeing how he ages and she doesn't, but the name Roman is too perfect for their son to be named. it fits the kind of name Justin would pick while also being a sort of inside joke as Alex once referred to Justin and Juliet as Romeo and Juliet. It really would have been interesting to see what Justin and Juliet's vampire-wizard hybrid kids would look like seeing as Alex might have werewolf-wizard hybrid kids with Mason. Or same story but Justin and Harper are trying to keep the secret from their kids. We know that Justin and Harper get along great as friends and having them end up together would have fit in why future Harper was still obsessed with Justin. However its safe to assume that current Harper is in the past writing about their stories right now.
I dont think its explained yet why Justin kids dont have powers, cause roman says its probably better that magical powers can skip a generation he was saying that in a whitty manner. We we are talking about a kid that has no idea magic even existed. I do think justin kids has powers cause many of the wizards have always illuded to justin kids as wizards, or it can be they were just confused but i feel that they do have powers just not manifested yet
One minor detail: Justin moved to STATEN Island, NOT Long Island. . .completely different setting. Otherwise, I completely agree with Caitlin that if they were going to do a "sequel/reboot/spinoff" of the classic show, that they would do an "iCarly" and gear slightly more toward the now-adult fans of the original series, the ones who were the "target demo," who are now grown-up. But Disney Channel is now essentially a kids' network, geared toward preteens, tweens, up to around 15-17, so that's understandable. . .which makes me ask exactly who was asking for a reboot in the first place? Another thing is that Jake T. Austin's credit and picture is on the Google Search page regarding this show, so I assume that Max will make an appearance in an upcoming episode, if only as a cameo. (HUGE prediction, MAX is the "Angel of Darkness" under that cloak!!) I would also love to see former cast members get involved with the series, even if it's behind the camera. . .let David DeLuise return as director of an episode, same with Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Stone. Perhaps they could also be contributing writers. But that's just me. Unfortunately, as of now, I don't see this series lasting more than, maybe, two seasons. With this storyline, they'll be lucky to last that long before the series starts going stale.
Never rlly been too into this show aside from watching a couple episodes as a kid. That said the alex meyers vid on this was entertaining as hell and I need some background content rn so this video is perfect
I didn't realize until maybe E2... as a former foster kid (age 24) I truly see Billy as a "foster kid" within the wizard world cause Alex told Justin "she has no one else helping her". The episode that Justin is really upset she ran away to the bus station cause she can "save Justin" by dealing with leaving his family before experiencing heartbreak by an additional person giving up on her again. I literally cried cause many shows that capture "foster kids" don't necessarily capture thar type of perspective and I felt people like me were heard (finally). Another note, it's disappointing that magic can skip generations. You would think some of the producers wouldn't do that cause it literally doesn't connect to the original. Lastly they overuse laugher Side note: not every kid has parents.
After that Halloween episode with that ghost and those Latin monsters in the previous show I prayed this show would be jump scare free but when billie summoned that floogie and that was the final straw for me but there were funny moments in the show I guess
I really don't get ppl thinking giata should have been Harper. She was with Zeke when we last saw her and we also know from the original series that she ends up going back in time to become an author. Which wouldn't make sense if she had a whole family in the future. It also wouldn't make sense since the plots of the first 2 episodes depend on Justin keeping his magic a secret. That's just my opinion tho. I've never been a big Harper/Justin shipper. He doesn't appreciate her the way I do. Also I don't have as big a problem with Billie not keeping magic a secret as most people seem to. In the og series a lot of the other teen wizards we met (i.e. Stevie or that guy who spelled his own parents) were also very lax about showing their powers. Billie prob doesn't care bc she has no siblings and will naturally become the family wizard (similarly to prev mentioned guy and Stevie ran away from the power transfer come to think of it). Also the tribunal is more like wizard senate or wizard politician.
I understand that Justin and Juliet still being together was unlikely for a number of reasons, but I feel like even a "young love doesn't always last" wouldv've been better than them not even mentioning her
I would be so interested to hear your take on Dani's House and Sadie J cause theyre like britain's questionable take on a disney channel sitcom. Also Naomi Scott is in the first episode of Sadie J LMFAO
Okay, but it also makes sense to the character. While it's not satisfying to see what has happened to Justin, it's not like it's out of his character. Something went wrong Justin panicked, it makes it worse, he beats himself up and I bet we will learn that Justin stepped down because he felt he wasn't good enough. Tell me, does that not sound like justin? Also, I like the idea that he followed in his dad's foot steps and gave up his powers for love. Also a very Justin thing to do, the hopeless romantic that literally fought mummies, angles and other creatures for the girl he liked? I see people sad and disappointed, but again, nothing seems out of character, it is logical for him to end up in this situation based on what we were told. Also, can we stop with "well it was said in the media so it must be true" like, no way it skips a generation. If you honestly don't think that they won't make a whole season long subplot of the older son getting and hiding his powers till the season finally where he uses his powers to save his family then you haven't watched enough disney sitcoms. Honestly, I'd be more surprised if they don't do that.
But when you think about it once his wife found out (rather quickly) there was no consequences or anything after. It was just “Oh okay my husband is a wizard” and then they moved on like nothing.
My theory about the lair is that its still in the sub shop because it still looks like it has the gap where the door was and they just made a portal through the mirror so they can get in to it easier
My issue is… we all know in the original that Justin’s father had given up his powers for a mortal…. Why didn’t Justin? He married a mortal. They seriously should have kept to the original information and story so that they a BIG flaw like this wouldn’t happen.
Tbh the original show had a lot of plot holes too… they kind of made up the lore as they went along aside from the wizard competition and plastic being the weakness to magic.
I don't take Roman's comment about "skipping a generation" as canon. This might be a long comment, and I will jump around a lot. I really hope they make Milo and Roman wizards because, aside from the Wizard Competition as a story arc to look forward to, it would allow them to have story arcs as characters. So far, it is focusing on Roman and Billie's relationship, which is fine as she is the main character, but like in WOWP, Alex and Justin would have shared plots but also solo adventures. I feel Roman can't be his own/have his own storylines without it being tied to being around Billie. The 9th episode is my favorite because Roman (Alkaio) performs well as if he were a wizard from the jump. It made me interested in the story tenfold because it gave him something else to do and we get to explore clearly how he has thought of being a wizard before. Also, letting Milo and Roman be wizards will provide more of that sibling relationship. Besides the episode where Milo wanted to build a fort, the brothers don't have many scenes together, and I don't get a sense of their close brotherly bond (as mentioned previously, it's always Roman following Billie and involved in *her* magic hijinks). If Milo was a wizard, it would also involve him more in the show as he is relegated to most B/C plots, and I'm bored by them. Here is another point you mentioned. I hate how easy it is to tell people that Billie is a wizard. She told Winter, Milo, and Roman in the span of three days. Meanwhile, in WOWP, Harper didn't find out until season 2, and Zeke in the last season. It gave the show stakes and funny ways the family tries hiding wizardry. Hiding the wizard secret could have given more exciting episodes. I also agree that some of the spells don't give as much as an homage to WOWP. I think the spells in WBW are lame in comparison. The WOWP spells were innovated, as some of the spells were the staff/directors' names. The episode when Billie said, "Slayus all dayus" and she changed her outfit gave "cashmeresus appearus" but it is trying to be more hip. Finally, I want to say that the overarching "Billie has to save the world" does not feel like the same caliber as the "Family Wizard Competition." Of course, it is something to build up to, but as I have mentioned, it doesn't involve anyone else but Billie. The smaller villains are weak and unconvincing. Since there are only 9 episodes, those are my thoughts so far. Thanks to anyone who actually read this. :)
The thing i like with Raven home is the fact that they always have two characters from that’s so Raven in the main cast. At the beginning Raven and Chelsea could’ve interact together and recreate that bound they had in the first show and after the soft reboot it was the same with her dad. I really think they should’ve kept at least one other character since the episodes where Justin interact with one of the old cast are the best
they completely ruined the cores of the og characters and gave no development to justin while making the new characters a 2.0 version of the old ones only without the charm that originally made them so facinating and loveable! i personally think its not worth wasting time on. clearly seems like a bait watch for a quick buck grab and im not here for it. (its cursed child all over again imo)
I watched the first episode and was so weirded out by the Harper almost clone wife o-o She even says things and acts in ways that Harper did. It's very odd.
The only reference to Harry Potter in the original series I remember was in the wizard tech episodes and Alex makes a comment about the uniforms reminding of her someone but she gets bored trying to remember who
I totally agree that its more of a spinoff about Justin. It doesn`t feel like a reboot. So I`m not calling it that. I also heard that the girl who plays Harper Jennifer doesn`t act anymore. But who knows
A reboot is when the original show isn’t canon to the timeline of the new continuity… for example the Ben 10 reboot is not in the same continuity as the original show. It’s a reboot as in it starts over the characters journeys..

This would have been so much better!
@@HanielCN I also thought the show could have worked with Justin being still the headmaster of WizTech, maybe he could have his family living in Long Island while he lived in the magical world or maybe he could have a double life only going to the magical world for work but then his sons manifested their magical powers so he would finally tell them the truth so Roman and Milo could go study in WizTech where they would meet Billie, or maybe Justin and Giada could be divorced parents we don’t get to see many of those in Disney shows
at first watching the first episode i thought they were Giada's kids, and Justin became their dad when he married Giada
I think stepkids would have been good too, given that Justin had very little time between the series ending and their birth to meet their mother and create them.
@@PelafinaLievre yeah I actually thought they were stepkids before the show came out, cause the timeline seemed a bit short
the fact that this is one of the rare cases where ALL of the cast would've jumped in and they still decided to make it all about Justin really bothers me. I mean, Jennifer and David created a whole podcast about the series to just be guests in the sequel
I lowkey feel that’s what Justin wanted
@@SiabeysmentI doubt it. They probably thought he was the safe choice. Since they’ve been speaking openly, Selena’s had drama and a huge career outside of Disney, it makes sense to me
to be fair before the original show came out it was supposed to be about Justin as the main character and then they casted selena as his sister and felt like they’d get more viewers with her as the lead. so this show was supposed to his second go at it where it is “finally” more about him
such a weird choice. justin is so boring lmao
It also bothers me Justin’s wife looks similar to Harper.
your outfit matching your mic is so iconic
literally came to the comments to say this! fr its so cute
I feel like a series where he’s the headteacher of wiz tech would have been amazing
Agreed! It could have even played into a "found family" type of thing, if they wanted to. (Him helping out some ~troubled kids~ at the school. That would even play perfectly into his goody two shoes thing, as well as his relationship with Alex!)
Or if they really wanted, just make his kids attend as his students and get into hijinks.
What we got is just so generic, there's no major reason for it to be set in a magical world at all
@the-inatorinator I didn't watch this reboot but your idea is an awesome idea. Very boy meets world + wizards
One of the kids will DEFINITELY descover their powers in like season 4 if the show doesn't get canceled until then
There's a chance it could happen in 2025 since they are going to air the rest of the episodes on Disney channel weekly
Glad someone else felt the same way about how open and loose they are using magic in public
They took forever to tell harper they were wizards and Billy told willow after knowing her for a couple hours
tbh it could be what differs Billie from Alex, Alex was raised in the human world and therefore, understood her limitations bc despite her usage of magic, she knows that she's in a world where that isnt used, whereas Billie having grown up in the wizarding world, is used to using magic daily.
or maybe it was someone like Stevie from WOWP that didnt really care about getting caught in public
Winter*😂❤
I’m enjoying this spinoff but you can tell this is done by a different team. Wizards had a unique vibe to it, especially with the New York setting.
I agree, her ditching Roman that fast was messed up
Every time a recorded audience cheers at someone the adults knows, I always love to think about the ACTUAL target audience’s reaction.
That's what I was like when I first saw girl meets world. And the parents came in. I was like "why are we clapping?" 😂
@@Mr.Murasakino thought of that too! Lmao
To be fair it’s Selena Gomez
Me too. It’s hilarious.
There was an episode of iCarly where Emma Stone was crazy extra and they did one of those cheering pauses when she came into the scene. When I was younger I was hella confused and when I rewatched it I finally got it 😂
14:05 he also opened the sub shop to the Wizard World & was running it successfully. No one ever remembers that episode
Justin's lie has to be the culprit somehow.
yeah it's really weird that justin's kids not having powers logistically
LOVE billies hair every episode so cute
Agree I like how her box braids have a unique style in every episode. I personally head canon that Billie uses magic to do her hair every morning.
@@madisonyour5369 omg my heart and winters curls too ugh so cute
I love her hair so much makes me wish she was in a different show so I could enjoy how much style and flair she brings
I really wish the new show was at Wiztech. I feel like an interesting conflict would be that Justin didn’t win his wizard powers from the family so he couldn’t pass them down and now he, as headmaster, has to pretend his children have powers as they grow up in the wizard world and attend Wiztech.
Thats a good concept cause then we can see the development of Justin and his soon to be wife
If they get a season 2, I would love if Justin's wife and Alex had a conversation like "hey alex, thanks for keeping my secret." "sure thing harper, that's what friends are for", revealing that Giada is actually just Harper and Alex had changed her appearance or something lol
YES or ANYTHING to include Harper
That’s crazyyyyy I love it lol
That would be crazy. A little creepy but Harper has always had her moments so it's not completely out of pocket for her.
@@ren.x I think even if Alex changed Harper’s appearance Justin would still realize it was Harper because of her personality and the way she acts
they alr filmed a season 2 so it's happening soon
I thought the same exact thing about Giana and Harper. Like it should have been Harper. That would have made it far more iconic.
But Justin never liked Harper and Harper got over her crush on Justin during the show so it wouldn’t make sense to me personally.
@ things change tho. It’s been at least 12 years since wizards of waverly place. A lot can happen in that time.
@@IdeasBecomeVideos True. It’s not impossible, I can just see why they didn’t go the Harper route (plus Jennifer Stone doesn’t seem to like David Henry all that much 😅 which might have played a part).
This is the first time I'm hearing of your fiancé! Congratulations Cait! So happy to see you happy
10:20 and harper is like FAMILY jerry and theresa love her just as much (if not more) as their real kids
Do they ever answer why Justin was allowed to keep his magic even tho he married a mortal?
Pretty sure it's because he's not the family wizard that's why he's allowed his magic still while also being married to a mortal
I was wondering that too
No they did not
I’m assuming that they just never asked for it back? I was confused about that too.
Haha
1:27 and bold of them to think i wouldn’t watch an entire show following the headmaster of wiztech!!
36:35 oh fun!! an evaluation that sounds nice- PENELOPE GARCIA????
Criminal Minds mentioned 🙌🔥
i thought the casting for justin’s oldest son (i forget the names im sorry) was so PERFECT like something about this little guy is so justin-y, the acting like all shows with kid stars i hope will get better as the show goes on, because the line delivery in scenes where there are no adults feel so awkward. i dont think i let out one laugh during the kid’s scenes but when justin was in a scene i was laughing so much, he is such a funny character im so glad david henrey could channel that energy again after so long. another thing i found really strange was by episode 2, the girl wizard (im sorry again) and justin’s oldest were already so close and i mean both emotionally and physically (like theres scenes where i was mentally telling young justin MOVE BACK AN INCH GIVE THE GIRL SOME SPACE) like if this random girl just moved into my house and was doing magic i would need a lot of questions answered first before getting that close with her. i am kinda sort of excited for more of this show especially if the writers take the criticism and fix some things
I so hope that Justin’s kids get powers in Season 2, then have to go to WizTech to learn the basics of magic that they never got to learn unlike the other students, and possibly allow Billie to have a second chance at WizTec, and maybe have Justin get his job back
This is the Justin Russo show let’s keep that real. It feels like David Henrie pulled strings to become the star and get this show going.
We watch all of the same things I see you EVERYWHERE from IG to RUclips lol but no I feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!! I’m not gonna lie although I enjoyed it something feels like he didn’t really want the old cast back like that
He is the executive producer so probably.
@@akrzton1It's not a reboot
@@giovannigiovanni.7220 Yes, it is. Happy holidays!
@@akrzton1No it isn’t, it’s a Justin spinoff. Please learn the definition of reboot:
Jennifer was also super clear on the pod that she hated that Harper was forcibly shipped with Justin. Idk that she would take a role where Justin and Harper were married if she doesn’t even ship the two
Exactly, it's a Justin Russo spin off, its NOT a reboot or a continuation
It’s literally a continuation
@@Kobe24brady12 Not really. Sure, three characters appeared and it's set after the original series but the focus isn't on it being an actual continuation. It's on giving Justin his own show. That's the literal definition of a spin-off. It's Wizards of Waverly Place...Just with Justin in the main role
@@mimicsforge yeah it's very unfortunate since Justin no offense is the least entertaining character, I wish Max or Harper were at least in it
@@growingupwithdisneyhave you never seen the original show because he was literally so funny and entertaining
No when Alex said she missed it that wasn’t Alex, that was Selena Gomez and you could feel it
*I don't know what it is, but all sequel shows or seasons where they change the decor always end up being worse & okay at best.*
These are:
- Hannah Montana S4 (new house)
- So Random! (spin-off of Sonny With a Chance)
- The Suite Life on Deck (spin-off of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody)
- Bunk'd (spin-off of Jessie)
- Girl Meets World (spin-off of Boy Meets World)
- Jonas LA (spin-off of Jonas)
- A.N.T. Farm S3 (boarding school)
- Raven's Home (spin-off of That's So Raven)
- Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (spin-off of Wizards of Waverly Place)
- Lab Rats: Elite Force (spin-off of Lab Rats & Mighty Med)
I just wish they could've stayed at the same place/used the same decor for all seasons and re-use them for the sequel series.
They are like couple that got married because of pregnancy and is together because they have kids and don't want them to have divorced parents, but not very much love each other or are happy with this situation 🙃
5. Can I still trust him?" etc
Also his family helped him lie to her? And no one had a problem with the fact that Justin is living in one big lie?
I think it's also teach kids very bad lesson. Justin lying for years about something huge is treated like nothing. Gida isn't even a little angry!
This is a kids show guys, lol
One more comment lol but I do agree that them being married is giving me nothing. They don’t give those vibes at all to me! The chemistry ain’t chemistry’n 😂
@@olakeska7908 exactly I feel like she was a little to forgiving where it didn’t feel realistic enough for me. It just makes their relationship feel so forced for the sake of plot armor.
@@Siabeysment No Chemistry!! They just feel like people rather than a married couple.
Also Jake t Austin is returning as max ,they confirmed that
I'm still so sad that they canceled the iCarly reboot and we never got a Lizzy Maguire adult reboot.
Revival not reboot
iCarly has been picked up again!
@@giovannigiovanni.7220oh chill lol
Second Edit: Jake might not be in the series cause he’s on the list with other predators
Third Edit: I think Alex just used magic to make the mirror teleport to the og lair.
Not including Harper feels especially cruel considering it was her podcast that drummed up excitement for the show to continue.
@@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops I love WITS Academy! And I have never heard of The Other Kingdom. It sounds interesting. ^^
@@ElizabethMidfordHatesCops Now that you say that, I saw it a little bit of it.
27:33 My question is….what was the room used for before Billie came? Why did the boys share a room if the was a big extra room across the hall!
It’s sad how Harper and Max were never asked to return when they were much better characters than Justin lol
max is coming back
I really thought that it was Harper in the commercials and I'm really glad that Justin didn't marry her. Even as a kid I thought that Harper's obsession with him was creepy and I'm glad it wasn't rewarded.
Issues I had about The Wizard’s Reboot (I watched the first half of the first episode):
1. The show already had a trajectory of where it was going when the original series ended so it doesn’t make any sense for the reboot to not pick up where they left off and instead make Justin version 2.0 of his dad Jerry. Total lack of creativity
2. Why did Justin marry a Harper look alike?
3. the special effects and house in general felt very corny to me, especially in comparison to the original show
Revival not reboot
Smh his wife doesn’t even look like Harper they just both have red hair 😭
I could buy the Halloweentown ripoff vibe the original world had, but the Halloween standin for Christmas thing feels forced and unnatural because it’s just one in a stilted gag string instead of actual worldbuilding.”
And three, *”If Harry exists, and the Wizarding World in this show also exists, what the hell does that say about the Wizarding World in this show that they needed to rip off their world?! Or, is it autobiographical?!”*
Not having Harper and Justin be married is SUCH a miss! Like you said, it'd make the show feel much more like a sequel series and I just know that the two characters would have great chemistry that would make the show that much better. It would also add such a fun new lens with which to rewatch the older series with -- like imagine watching WOWP knowing they end up together
Also, while I would love a mention of Juliet in the show as well, I wouldn't want it to come at the expense of Giada.
I’m all for new stuff but u can’t make new rules & break the rules of an already existing world
I don’t even remember that they explained why the boys didn’t have their powers I thought it was because Justin was never the family wizard
@ your right I didn’t even think about that
@@lauracerqueiramachado8979according to episode 9 powers can skip a generation, which I don't buy, I have an alternate theory.
@@patax144 can you tell us your theory, please???
Happy to see some reviews again, however I still would love love love if you could do a video on any house of Anubis ship, please
Justin seriously didn't think it would be a good idea to clue his wife in that magic is real and their children might have it someday??
the skiping the generation thing seems stupid indeed and I don't think it is real, I think Justin did something to supress the kids's powers and is just covering it up
its definetely not gonna happen but i really want the secret dark wizard to be stevie or someone related to stevie
Justin losing his job kind of mirrors his dads arc tho
Exactly! It’s lazy writing
8:22 that and “Zappo Zap Zappo Zee Zappo Zarea! To light up the lair in the first episode.
I feel like they’ll eventually give the kids powers down the line
Im actually glad that Justin wasnt married to Harper. She was living with the family in the series, it would have been like him marrying his sister
(HUGE prediction, MAX is the "Angel of Darkness" under that cloak!!)
I would also love to see former cast members get involved with the series, even if it's behind the camera. . .let David DeLuise return as director of an episode, same with Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Stone.
Lastly they overuse laugher
Side note: not every kid has parents.
I’m liking the show so far I’m looking forward to more episodes.
29:08 OSCAR MONTOYA? HE BOOKED DISNEY? Good for him holy crap I love that guy on Dropout!
12:00 They couldn’t have Harper be Justin’s wife because then there would be no “Justin keeps being a wizard secret” because Harper already knows
But when you think about it once his wife found out (rather quickly) there was no consequences or anything after. It was just “Oh okay my husband is a wizard” and then they moved on like nothing.
@ I would like to imagine there are no consequences YET
I love this new Disney Channel tv series!
Harper ended up with zeke though so being with Justin would bring a whole bunch of more questions
They seriously should have kept to the original information and story so that they a BIG flaw like this wouldn’t happen.
nobody mentioning that the wizard evaluator is penelope garcia
Tbh the original show had a lot of plot holes too… they kind of made up the lore as they went along aside from the wizard competition and plastic being the weakness to magic.
I heard Jen Stone say she was not gonna be on the 1st Season, but in future Seasons I hope Harper (Jen) comes back
I don't take Roman's comment about "skipping a generation" as canon.
Actually, I heard somewhere that Selena Gomez is going to be a series regular (I don’t know if that’s true but I heard it somewhere)
She's not going to be a series regular she'll just guest star in certain episodes like for example she's returning once again in Episode 21
@ excuse me? I heard it on the internet, and the internet, like me, is never wrong
@@bobjeff5891 I’m just telling you what’s been confirmed no need to start an argument
@ so, I’m right, you’re wrong…. Forever
@@bobjeff5891 you have got to be trolling
Also I really hope you continue to review the show. Would always tune in.
Bold Prediction: Billie is somehow connected to the “unicorn incident” that got Justin fired.
It wouldn't be a reboot but a revival.
A reboot is when the original show isn’t canon to the timeline of the new continuity… for example the Ben 10 reboot is not in the same continuity as the original show. It’s a reboot as in it starts over the characters journeys..
jeniffer stone is a nurse now
I was waiting and hoping you would do a review on this tv show
