The best part about fishing here in the states is everywhere you could possibly go has its own uquine ecosystem with different types of fish, I I'm from Illinois and I do most of my fishing in Wisconsin nearby the U.P. and it the best bass fishing you could possibly get it.

I also have the right to say what I want about the government (that doesn't work out so well for Chinese and North Koreans), and I can pursue my goals and ambitions. Funny story: circa 2003 when my nephew Nick was 8 his parents picked up him, his brother and sister from school and headed toward Baltimore.
Nick was so excited because there is a huge Bass Pro Shoppe there and he thought that was where they were going. When they didn't turn off on the exit to it, Nick was saying over and over "You missed the turnoff. You going the wrong way!"
They reached the airport, parked and started unloading suitcases. The kids had no idea what was happening. My sister then told them they were going to Disney World for spring break. Nick started crying and saying " But I want to go to Bass Pro Shoppe! "

One of these stores has been near my town for over ten years and just a couple of months ago I finally went to it for the first time. The store I visited had a bigger fish tank. It is rather impressive if you are one to browse and all that. It used to have a restaurant in it. Still, I went for one little thing and it was sold out.

If you fly into Austin, there is a bass pro shop at what used to be the small town of Buda just outside Austin, roughly 20 miles. Been years since I was there, I'm sure the area has grown up by now.

If you ever do visit the US, you can also visit a store called Cabella's. This is also an outdoor shop owned by Bass Pro Shop and are pretty much identical to each other. Even share the same products. So if the area you visit dont have a Bass Pro Shop, look for a Cabella's. We got one here in Noblesville, Indiana. Feel free to stop by.

Good to see a father and son connect like this. We're too short lived and too long gone... enjoy it and make PLANS out of doors. This world was meant to be seen, felt. Funny side is... well i didn't get much time w my dad but i still drive by and drop into the local east side (poor side of my city) bait and tackle shop basically run out of a house with the shop down and the living upstairs and back... and can remember the smell of the place decades on. Same for the local deli. Same for the bowling alley. The fair grounds. The camping on cold wet ground just to wake to a glorious day on the water tossing lines.

Even though the bass pro shop is expensive compared to other shops they have a huge variety from 30 dollar rod combos to thousand dollar combos. You can pick up cheaper baits than 5.99 there those are average prices for top name brand. Yeah you can spend 280 on a nice bow setup or a thousand but that thousand dollar bow shoots like a rocket and is probably more accurate than the average gun.

The pyramid store is in Memphis, TN (Tennessee). It formerly housed the NBA team the "Memphis Grizzlies". I don't know how or why that relationship ended, but I'm sure it's an interesting story. The original store is in a not very large city called Springfield, AR (Arkansas). I would frequent that store quite often as a child riding along on my Boy Scout(s of America) "camp outs", if it was on the way to or from where we were actually camping, we'd occasionally stop. There is quite a large location close to me in the suburb of Broken Arrow, OK(Oklahoma). To be fair, there are many "big box stores" that would occupy an airplane hangar in my area. It's just how it is.

Garin is absolutely adorable. You must be so proud of him. I hope you have him on more videos as I love hearing what young people think. My grandchildren are all grownup and have flown the coop, so there are no youngsters left in the family, which makes m a little sad. Anytime I can hear a child’s reaction to anything, it’s a good day. Can’t wait to see what you react to next. 🤟🏼🙏🏼🤗

This brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes. Back in 2001 my father and I made the journey from a tiny little town called Jackman in the furthest most northeast state of maine, all the way to Fort Worth Texas. We visited the Bass Pro Shops there and it was truly a magical place. We were also blessed with the opportunity to Fish Lake Fork, one of the best bass fishing spots in the world! I truly hope that you and your wonderful son get here and get to experience the same if you haven't already? So promising to see a young man so keen on the outdoors! Good bless you mate!

During those times I was in the bummed out mindset being so far away that I now look back and cherish those times. I still get caught up in the NOW and probably still ain't enjoying things that I'll realize were truly enjoyable times.
With all the crazy out there, content like this gives grounding and hope. Thanks mate!

The thing you asked about, deer or elk? It was an elk. There were 8 of them in my backyard this morning. Those combo boxes are good for putting snacks in for the day, toss it in the cooler. Sales tax in Austin is currently at 8.25%. May vary outside the city. We don't have sales tax in Montana, just on tourist activities like outdoor things and hotels. If you went into one of these in Montana, no sales tax.

It is such a pleasure to see a father and son who enjoy hunting and fishing like y'all do. That, my friend, is a way of life down here in the South. When you walk into a Bass Pro Shop, you think where has this place been for all of my life. Texas is it's own part of the South. Bear in mind, Bass P S are all over the the South. Glad y'all are visiting Texas. Austin is top notch. Whatever y'all do, find Texas B. B. Q. Brisket and Ribs. It is incredible and found nowhere else on earth. I'm down here in Alabama. Great pork, pork ribs, and smoked chicken like you can't imagine. Try the Alabama white sauce. Now, don't be offended if people come up to you and greet you. Also, you will hear a lot of "Sir and Mam"...yes sir, yes mam, thank you mam/sir. We were raised that way. Most all of us are courteous, and friendly. Totally different than in other areas. So, Welcome to our great South...y'all come back now!

I worked at the Bass Pro Shop in Lawrenceville Georgia (about 40 miles NE of Atlanta) for 3 years in the Hunting department. The Lawrenceville store is definitely one of, if not the, smallest stores in the chain. Despite it's small size it does a lot of business. It's busiest time is just before Christmas and it was normal to have the entire length of the gun counter (roughly 25-30 yards/meters long) people shoulder to shoulder 5 to 10 deep. Every one of them wanting to buy a gun.
    I don't miss it.

Our Louisiana Bass Pro Shops not only carry fresh water fishing gear, but saltwater as well. We have easy access to the Gulf of Mexico and several large brackish lakes like Lake Ponchartrain. We also have specialized boats and gear for the bayou fishing, crabbing, and gator hunting.
Yes, we have a federal and state sales tax here. In Louisiana it ranges from just over 8% to over 9%, so that 10.99 box would incur an additional .98 tax.
We also have a few smaller big box type sporting goods stores here as well as multiple smaller establishments: My livestock feed store carries fishing tackle and bait. The other two sporting goods stores we have Academy Sports and Outdoors, and Dick's Sporting Goods, but their outdoors sections are smaller because they also carry sports gear for football, baseball, soccer, and golf.
