@Dolimoe-vh9kq You can look at any channel, any channel on RUclips and all will need a method of profit unless they are doing exclusively as a hobby or profitless vlogging. OrdinaryGamer recently been sponsoring like crazy shit he once warned about, nevertheless he is one of reliable information. There a extremely few people/groups who can survives without profiting their information. It's up to the watcher to follow up their research on what this channel provides. This world doesn't allow for non-profit, nor has jorunalism ever been about not being paid. I'm not sure what to tell you. @Dolimoe-vh9kq very well summarized, matter of fact. This reminded me of the hipster era of the 2000s where single-origin coffee snobs hipsters would avoid buying and wearing mainstream clothing, but they ended up looking all alike from miles away; the hipster beard, all-unique tattoos covering their body, single speed bicycle, acetate reading glasses or Ray-Ban sunglasses, the scarfs and beanie hats in the middle of summer.

@Dolimoe-vh9kqmost people already have 1 or multiple of the items this channel does videos on. Adding to that consumerism would make absolutely no sense. While you might not NEED stickers, it's a low impact way to support the channel and people like to show off their interests. The price is high literally because the point is primarily to support the channel. Which you are welcome to disagree with, but they shouldn't be selling medium/large physical objects that their viewers don't really need.

And then it was vacant for over 10 years, sporadically being used as a concert venue between 2005 and 2015. I think theres another reason people like bass pro so much these days. There is no pretention to the brand whatsoever.
Me and my gf are both pretty outdoorsy. We love hiking, camping, floating, and I love fishing and hunting. When it comes to outdoor brands there can be a big pretentious vibe to the people who wear it, especially with the big brands like Patagonia, north face, mountain hardware, arteryx, ect. We love bass pro so much because we can still get the clothing and gear we need for a fraction of the price and we don't feel lumped in with alot of people who wear all of these expensive brands that have almost become luxery brands at this point.
We live in a very outdoorsy college town and those brands become very trendy where we live. Buying bass pro brands kind of makes us feel like normal people and we save money by not buying the big outdoorsy brands. We wear some of that stuff but the stuff we do wear from those brands we've had for a long time and we rarely buy new stuff them.
We've also stayed at the bass pro pyramid and it's awesome

I think it's funny how people virtual signal about not liking Bass Pro when the liberal-coded alternative, REI, has an insane markup and poor customer service.
In my experience, Bass Pro has more USA-made products than REI. You would think a company that virtu signals about being a co-op would want its products made in a more ethical country.
Also, @MS-sr6mj, most hats come with logos, that style of hat is specifically made to have a logo. Unless you are anti-hat this is a silly question.

@@smarmar400 I understand the insult you are getting at but it just demonstrates your ignorance on steak.
No prime-cut steak is served plain, it is seasoned in pepper and salt, it is dry aged or dry brined, and its is based in butter.
It is often served with a reduction sauce, something that contains tomato paste and vinegar, like ketchup.

@@woodchuck003 I live a blissful life, overflowing with ignorant knowledge of steaks, especially of the non-prime-cut variety. I am a connoisseur of steakery and of all fine, red meats. I consistently order my steaks plain so that I may savor the restaurant's choice of table ketchups. One simply needs to ask their waiter for the variety of tomato-based condiments from their "hidden menu". Every fine steak establishment worth their salt has one. But hear this: one must ask for the "hidden menu" thrice---not once---not even twice. It's an ancient tradition among steakeries. Below I shall include the universal code of menu-ordering conduct. It goes something like this:
      Three is a magic number
Yes it is, it's a magic number
Somewhere in that ancient mystic trinity
You get three as a magic number
The past, and the present, and the future
      Faith, and hope, and charity
The heart, and the brain, and the body
Give you three as a magic number
Little-known steak fact: If you poke a cow many times with an ice pick before slaughter it's meat will be pre-tenderized and juicy on one's palette.

I miss the days of Cabela's before it merged with Bass Pro. Cabela's started in Sidney, Nebraska, my home state. Prices were competitive, people loved the credit card program. To me, the thing that was done best, but was lost in the merger was the customer service call center out of Sidney. They were super helpful, and very friendly. Bass Pro got rid of that call center and customer service sucks! Also, Cabela's used to have a room in the back of the stores called the bargain cave, where they would collect all items that were at a higher discount than the normal sales they ran. It was awesome, but it seems that has all changed. I don't think Bass Pros improved Cabela's, instead, they ruined all of the friendliness you would experience if you traveled to Nebraska in the sake of searching for more money.

I see a movement overall with younger (mostly liberal) people moving towards "appreciating" the more rural parts of the USA more. For example, the newest iteration of "indie sleaze" music is a lot about rural america and how it's cool (whereas before it was moving out to big cities and partying). Especially with WFH or remote work increasing (or even less jobs in more metro areas and being forced to move back with your parents or an area that is more affordable to you) I think we will see this trend continue, even if it's roots are in irony.

I watch a lot of non-U.S. content and any family that has an inkling of interest in the outdoors salivate at the dream of coming to the U.S. and visiting a Bass Pro shop, many have. I think you underestimate how many outdoorsmen are in need the products they sell and the selection they offer. Note things like outdoor wear and products are often made with sturdier, higher quality materials because it is actually going to get used in rough conditions. You want a tough, rugged piece of clothing or any outdoor product, BPS would be a good place to start.

"Cabellas if you're from canada" gives me a weird feeling. no shade to the vetting process, which can't be perfectly perfect. it just like activated childhood memories. We have (had?) a Cabella's in the Kansas City Metro and it was weird when we learned they got bought out. My parents had a credit card there. We went to see the catfish in the aquarium. It ruled. Cabellas was great.

I come from a demo that wears a lot of brands/products for style over functionality or to be representative of said brand. So to add to the fashion convo in the beginning, there had been a surge in the trucker hat trend within the last 4-5 years. Von Dutch had a moment within this same period after a minor resurgence around 2016. You can find an assortment of trucker hats in Urban Outfitters right now, as well as beer company and nature themed snapbacks. Pharrell Williams iconic N.E.R.D. trucker hat from the early 2000s also made a resurgence.

Around 2005 it seemed very popular with the hip tattooed kids to wear mesh trucker caps (logos didn't matter, just had to be an old school trucker cap). That didn't last long, though. I think they cool kids moved on in a couple years to whatever else was fashionable. Wearing Bass Pro hats probably has a short shelf life, unless you're the kind of person who loves the store for unironic reasons.

Johnny Morris's nephew was my best friend in HS. It is a nice myth. His father's "liquor store" wasn't just one, but a chain/almost monopoly of stores called Brown Derby. The Brown Derby stores were all over the city of Springfield, MO, allowing Johnny a very comfortable upbringing. What he did with Bass Pro is a capitalist's dream, but like DT, he started off with the back up of family money. That aside, besides being the first to think of this model, he is (or was?) a very genuine man.

Honestly, I am of the opinion that niches are having it harder the longer time goes on. The world becomes ever more connected, societies, groups and cultures get flung far and wide and mix together faster than ever before, and the same mindset that makes things like the cap appear on the heads of people that are essentially not related to the ideas, values and so on the product stands for will come for your particular niche sooner or later. And it will perhaps feel a bit like random people enter your house without permission, dancing on your kitchen table naked and then leaving through a giant hole in the wall of your bedroom they made that can never truly be fixed.

My 8th grade class trip in the 90s was to Branson, Missouri. Stopping at a Bass Pro Shop was planned for the last day and I was made fun of because I didn’t know what it even was, because I was a New York Yankee transplanted to North Louisiana, where Friday football game pep rallies at school were often camo dress up days where classmates would blow their duck calls. Okay yeah youre right I wear that hat and I don´t go hunting. For the simple fact that in Germany it´s hella expensive like a couple thousend euros for your license a gun, an area where you can hunt etc. etc. Also I don´t have the time to do it properly. But at least I go fishing and in Germany you do need a license for that and it´s not like in Canada were you buy it you´ll have to go to a class for 2 or 2 months and then take a test with with 360 questions they will only as you 60 of them but you don´t know which 60 questions so it´s best if you learn all of them. Well and after all that is done you will have to join a fishing club because except from the ocean all the lakes are owned or rented by fishing clubs and they won´t allow you to fish there if you aren´t a member (you can get a guest card but they aren´t really worth it if you live anywere nearby). Okay one thing to add here some of the hats were a gift from a friend in Canada cuz he stoped waring them so they have some special value to me obviously and the other ones are almost falling appart by now xD.
So yeah I do know some outdoor stuff but I gotta say Canada has influenced my a lot there as I bought the had simply because it was such an iconic north american thing a the time and know even though I´m back in Germany stuck with it. Oh and fishing is way better in Canada than in Germany our ponds/lakes are small and overfished with garbage everywere (I had really dirty spots in Canada to put relative to the size of the lakes it was less so keep your lakes clean my friends) and the fees for fishing clubs are super expensive.
Also guys remember if you actually wanna do some outdoor stuff you don´t need all the crazy gear and you should rather safe some money to actually go out and use that gear rather then spend it all on equipment just to have no money left to use any of the stuff you bought.
