PT.2 Raptor painting my entire van campervan

- Here's my Volkswagen campervan Lt35 having a complete makeover.
The wrap was removed with a heat gun . The rust was sanded down to bare metal, treated with Kurust and etch primered.
fully sanded van with 120 grit sand paper , cleaned and ready to go with upol Raptor bed liner stone chip paint.
These are ready mixed so just add hardener to the bottle .
paint code - 7016 Anthracite Grey

Jawel paints is where I got the Raptor kits delivered from , colour - Ral 7016 Anthracite Grey.
Equipment used was a 100 litre compressor running at 50psi.

Savage paint job mate!! Totally bulletproof, stone chips are no longer an issue. Great idea too. Hides a multitude of sins on the body work.😁😁😁

I don't know how this got into my feed, but I am glad that it did. I have a Chrysler minivan that I use occasionally as a camper van, but mostly it's a suburban family vehicle. Maybe after the van ages a little more and is exclusivly a camper van, I would consider the Raptor paint job.
Just found the channel. For those who don't know the LT35 are the most reliable vans ever, nothing better before or since. I've run 3 LWB to over 500k with little more than oil and cambelt changes with the odd vac pump. I still have 2, both just run in at 150k each. Roof not high enough for a camper for me so I'm converting a L4H3 Iveco Daily which I already know won't be anywhere near as trouble free.

Hi Tommy, great job on the van I've just prepped my own lt35 xlwb and have 12 bottles of tintable and it's going midnight blue/black pearl so hopefully it will come out good as I've never sprayed a van in my life haha how many bottles did you use? although mine is the xlwb model i do have more windows than yours so hopping 12 is enough 🤷♂️ cheers, col

I had 16 bottles and used 14, 12 grey and 2 black for bumpers .

Yo the glue remover you used in the previous video looked awesome, can you let me know what it was I’m struggling with some on my van 😩
It's called 'sticky stuff remover' they sell it in most diy shops, screwfix etc
Spray it on thick and leave it 10 mins 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Hiya how many litres did it take to do the van..also where you sprayed the outer door rail...where the side door slides...has the paint started to scratch off?

Nice. I am curious what it is like to keep clean in the winter with road salt etc. does it simply jet wash off ? any comments on how it is holding up appreciated mate. thanks.
Hello mate, I use the brush and jetwash at the local Tesco .
I don't own the van now but up to when i sold it it was still all good 👍
I raptored my campervan 5 years ago. All still good here 👍

There's no issues with sliding the door but the paint do eventually wear out inside the runner due to lots of use.

Looks great, I have an lt35 lwb I'm currently doing up for a campervan (needs a lot of work) how did you remove the rear bumper? It looks like it's just clipped in but I don't want to break it as they are expensive. Any tips would be much appreciated. Cheers.👍
Possibly start by taking off the reflectors on the rear bumper, I think there are bolts there for disassembling the bumper.

Yes you can mate, I personally haven't but lots do.

Pretty sure it was 14 bottles of grey and 2 black for the plastics, door shuts was done at a later date with a rattle can 👍🏼

What is the texture coat?
It's just a final coat for anything missed, imperfections etc 👍

The paint and all materials cost around £400 and the labour was at a mates rate as we help each other out 👍👍👍
