Being unbiased as much as possible, what is best between fusion 360, FreeCAD, and this Blender/Sketcher? I've Never made anything to go into a 3D Printer, or a CNC machine. I've looked at blender didn't go anywhere with it, or learn it at all. I've used Fusion 360 for a bit off and on, somewhat learned it, I could make a few things (took forever) to get my thoughts worked out. I've messed with FreeCAD Just Enough to do some extremely basic stuff. I'm not ready for a learning curve, but willing to put myself through what ever is needed to learn! I've got several inventions I want to get created, I might be able to use a 3D printer for very little of it. But more that most of what I need made will need to be done with CNC machine. I will also need to simulate fluid dynamics (gas & liquid) with my models. No matter how complicated or how long it takes to learn, with that out of the way... What is my best route to take, preferably free software, but not considering cost. But if the best choice involves cost, then what is the second best option that is free of cost?
The CAD Sketcher modifiers sounds like an amazing idea, especially the lofting one! (part of me hopes revolution will be part of them too!) I do have to ask though, especially with lofting in the horizon: do you expect NURBS surfaces to be a part of CAD Sketcher's rendering options (alongside meshes and Bezier curves) for the models made with the add-on?
Hello there! Is there a way, while drawing a sketch, to actually SEE the snapping between two points? Like, if I wanted to draw a line from a point on a circumference. Thanks guys
Hi, I really like the CAD sketcher add-on however I do have a question, is there a way to create a sketch on an angled face using the CAD sketcher add-on? thanks in advance.
hey mate cool stuff. 2 questions - coming from the architecture world. 1. Is there plans for linking sketches together soon so we can make assembly like things? 2. Is there a way of locking the sketch to a position in 3d world space? As get a lot of jumping around of elements after doing minor tweaks to them, eg we created a portal frame in a building, then instanced it across the space, however, changes led to it jumping around. ? cheers. keep up the amazing work. Love the energy.
Just found your channel. You doing very interesting stuff. I was wondering if you ever tried to compare you end results from Blender with Inventor/SolidWorks results or if you ever sent it to cnc and cut something in metal. Are you planning to add to your addon in the future the similar functions for assembling parts like in Inventor/SolidWorks? Well done, I'm already very impressed.
I already have Blender 3.3.1 and a number of add-ons, including Sketcher. I downloaded 3.5.1. My question is, do I have to re-download all the add-ons including the new Sketcher 0.27.2?
the user interface (no rtfm) is still unbelievable unfriendly, expect to be able to put down a sketch plane, then draw to it, but nothing happens when you try to draw to the sketch work plane
why do you have to stuff some/all stuff in the add menu on the toolbar, then the "one" sketch is what, you can draw but the "add work plane"s do not seem to work
@@Jkauppa Hmm well your best bet is to press N then click Sketcher and everything has a button there plus tool tips if you leave your mouse over it. Also please keep in mind that this is 1000% still in development only been around for like a year and FreeCAD has been around for 20+ years. Hell even the "TOP" CAD Sketcher users have no idea what we are doing as this a brand new fusion of Solid and Mesh modeling there are no standardized workflows. So perhaps rather than criticize a tool that is not even actually released it might be better to join the community and make suggestions for further improvements.
@@Jkauppa Also please reald the mission of CAD Sketcher and understnad what the tool is before saying it has to be somthing it never said it would be: www.cadsketcher.com/

Great work! This is one of the few add-ons I'm constantly checking the development of!
Actually it's awesome add-on . I wish they will add parametric bevel in the future.
Brilliant! Update and congrats on your contribution to the open software development in the CAD community.
Looking forward to being able to loft between sketches. That's exciting!
this is fantastic work you all are doing, you're efforts will be worth every bit of agony

Thanks for addressing the Mac Metal/OpenGL issue
All thanks to the community for pointing that out!
I really hope this blender bug is sorted out sooner rather than later.
That bug was a sneaky one - (eventually) I found the answer on discord - but great to have it more discoverable on RUclips!
Cooool! I was waiting for this recently, glad to see this update
5:37 awesome! You are doing great job! Thank you!

wow....great idea....
thx... happy blending
Very interesting. Looking forward to where this is heading to!
(Fusion 360 user) this looks great. would love to see a reskin of blender into fusion UI. This looks very promising.

great job with it.. im sure you will catchup with the other CAD softwares... then we wont have to keep practising others as well 👍

Hi, just going through this video and my line does not show (or circle) With the shortcut or the icon on the left? Any suggestions?
Hello, how can I generate g code for cnc router using blender CAD Sketcher
Cool and please add control in Bevel to be inside or outside change bevel in cad sketcher
Your best bet is to make a feature request out of it: github.com/hlorus/CAD_Sketcher/discussions
Stupid question- once you install the add-on, how do you open it? lol
why do the trim tool delete some pieces and dont delete some couldnt get the difference between deleted and non deletet lines

AFAIK you can make a kind of assys in Blender. Objects can be linked one to each other... They can be grouped and etc. So what is this then? :)
@@KiR_3d the array works fine it’s just the position of the arrayed object after changing the sketch. @makertales ?

I have problems trying to draw a STRAIGHT line. Why can you draw a line locked it on one axis?
can't make the measurements show up...blender 4.0 Macbook air M1 cad sketcher 0.27.3

is it possible that CAD Sketcher broke down on Blender 3.6.1?
"Hidden features" is a keyword here ;)
Seu conteúdo é maravilhoso, uma pena que não é em português, poderia usar IA, seria mais confortável aprender se fosse em português......
I think plasticity is currently blown the market...
Anyway , cad sketcher is bridging the spline gap of blender.
seems not to work on Apple's M1 Macs.
it is not visible workplanes after click add scatch...
cad scetcher or palsticity? it is the question
the user interface (no rtfm) is still unbelievable unfriendly, expect to be able to put down a sketch plane, then draw to it, but nothing happens when you try to draw to the sketch work plane
functionality seems to be so well hidden it seems not even be there, same for freecad btw, obscuring functionality on purpose
why do you have to stuff some/all stuff in the add menu on the toolbar, then the "one" sketch is what, you can draw but the "add work plane"s do not seem to work
where are the cad features, measure perfect, not freehand tools, accurate grid drawing, grid snapping etc, very confusing interface
