Morgan Freeman named Clint as his favorite director with no hesitation. I can't think of a greater compliment.
The way he smiles when talking about him, you know they're good friends.
I find that absolutely baffling, myself.
@@drum253 Why?
@@joxyjoxyjoxy1 How can I possibly answer that?? I've absolutely no idea why he can't be better, it stumps me too, given the amount of time he's been at it.
Listening to the admiration a legend like Morgan Freeman has for the director and man Clint Eastwood is wonderfully heartwarming.
He lets great people do great things
Probably one of the best actor directors of all time. Nothing speaks louder than accolades from accomplished actors. Imagine Morgan Freeman saying you’re his favorite director.
“Do you feel lucky punk?”
Yes, very lucky we had Clint Eastwood in our lives!
Hate to be that guy, but that is one of those lines that was not actually said.
@@marcd1981 "You got to ask yourself one question. 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do you punk?"😎
@@sheldonfFor years many people thought it was said all in one sentence. It happens a lot with the popular lines over time.
Eastwood is what Hollywood needs more of.
Clint Eastwood is a wonderful actor, director, producer, musician, writer AND a super sweet human being 🥰
Uh I love him as an actor. But he's not the beat father nor husband. Also basically ruined sandra locke's career.
But if you separate artist from the art, he's one of my all time favorites.
@@brennan4159and you know this how? Because you read it in apaper somewhere? Or because maybe someone expressed a negative situation involving him? Immediately made him a bad father and husband? 👌👍 hes certainty not perfect because hes human , but that to make hik a bad person somehow? Hmmm
@@BillieScarvelliWell, no one really knows who Clint is, but if that's her observation to him, you can't do anything about it.
nice guy unless you were dating him from '53-83
Not a fan of his Trump support, but people are dynamic.
Clint is the real deal. Calm, cool, collected. And, he's like his characters. A real man. And, a real, human being. And, as an American, he has real, common, sense. Something so many actors and, Americans lack these days. You know what I'm talking about.
Morgan Freeman is also such an excellent actor!
I truly admire and respect Clint Eastwood as an actor, producer and a man.
CLINT EASTWOOD is an AMAZING person. He appears (to me) to be a very complex, introspective, real man who just navigates life with No BS. He chooses to work with actors who seem to be no drama, hardworking people who possess Real Talent and just show up, get the job done. RESULT = SUPERB FILMS EVERY TIME!
Don't forget most of his kids were from affairs. YOU NEED BETTER HEROS!!
@@tysonkonken-jj3vdAnd? We are talking about the actor and director aspects of him, not his personal life. This is an acting and directing appreciation video by actors who worked with plenty big name directors and actors and so can tell the differences in those fields. None of them dated the guy so they are not discussing this. So go back to yer tabloids.
@@tysonkonken-jj3vdOK, Mr. Perfect
I hate when people are fake and try to give half hearted compliments and blow smoke up people's butts. But here you have people being genuine in their admiration for Clint. And I have always loved the way Morgan Freeman is always no nonsense and right to the point and you can see he actually thinks about what he's saying.
I appreciate all the input from the different actors, even Eastwood's daughter, but Morgan Freeman's testament spoke the most of Eastwood's character.
Well Said my friend 😊
This is unbelievably fascinating. Hearing Morgan Freeman discuss his admiration for Clint is so interesting.
I grew up in Southie. When filming Mystic River some of my friends and relatives were lucky enough to meet Clint Eastwood. He walked among the crowd talking to people like he was just one of them. They couldn't say enough nice things about him. Lol, they didn't have the same nice things to say about Sean Penn though.
From Dorchester represent! Heard nothing but good things about Clint amazed at how the movie is almost word for word the book he did a great job.
So basically, Clint Eastwood is the Bob Ross of directors. That would explain why he frames scenes like portraits.
That is brilliant!
Clint Eastwood is the Greatest American Icon ever!!
As if I didn’t love Clint Eastwood enough this makes me love him even more which I never thought was possible
Pale rider and unforgiven are some of the best movies ever made.
He is ,and has always been my favourite movie star.
I grew up watching all his movies
Clint has such breadth and depth ,scope and abilty to adapt in all character situations.
To me Clint is the definition of what a true movie star and celebrity is.
He is the last vestige of old Hollywood .
Once he is gone ,we have lost an ICON of American culture
Thank you Mr CLINT Eastwood for the great movie memories
I've never been interested in Hollywood, actors, movies to speak of, but one day I was watching television and on comes Clint Eastwood in The Good the Bad and the Ugly. I was hooked. I was mesmerized. I believe he singlehandedly got me interested in film. I still don't care much for celebrities, most of woke Hollywood and it's nonsense, but watching this had me tearing up, and then listening to Morgan Freeman (another of my favs) speaking about Eastwood so reverently, that was hit. Give me the damn tissues, Martha, I'm gonna lose it.
While watching this video, I felt exactly the same!
@Frankincensedjb123 Curious...how do you define woke? What does it mean to you, and why is it good or bad?
I was hooked on the Eastwood westerns as a kid and have seen everything he’s done in front of the camera or behind. I was lucky to have a brief encounter with him when he was the Mayor of Carmel. He was warm and gracious, it was something I will never forget. He would be the famous person I would love to sit down with and talk over a meal.
Trying to name your favorite Clint Eastwood movie is like trying to recall your favorite I LOVE LUCY episode
My partner has had a crush on this man since she was 11 years old, she is now 59 and nothing has changed! I've learnt to live with it!! Lol
Clint Eastwood..."I've directed everything that walks or crawls one time or another, I'm here to direct you Little Bill". 😵
All the actors that love Clint is amazing. There will never be anyone that will be as great as Clint. True Legend.
Was watching million dollar baby last night. So good
Clint Eastwood is the real deal, always has been ! Great upload, thanks for the info.
If you knew nothing about Eastwood's past, and you just watched Morgan Freedman's interview. Wow!
I was f***ing disappointed when i found out, but I ain't no saint myself and i like the characters he is playing more than i like him even before i found out who he was, so it is not hard for me to separate art from artist!
What has he done that's so bad exactly?
Clint is the boss!
Man Mr Eastwood is a good role model
If they ever make a movie about my life, Kathy Bates has to play my mom
I saw Him in Savannah, Georgia in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. I yelled out "Filo Beddoe", He smiled and waved to the Huge Crowd of People. It was Me he heard.
When we think about `cowboy movies`we think of Eastwood. Or SHOULD BE. Who als is a great dircctor...one of the best helping create high quality films. Can`t imagine the moovie woorld without him....what if he didn`t end up in filmÉÉÉÉ :) He IS an ìcon :))
In the video they made a godo point...Eastwood doesn`t yell at actors or berate them. Always soft-spoken and to the point. It`s worked for him. :) aNY TIME WE KNOW THE FILM WAS DIRECTED BY HIM WE CAN EXPECT A HIGH QUALITY FILM. ...
i've been a huge fan of Eastwood because of my dad, who loved watching his movies and especially, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Besides, if I could choose a Clint Eastwood's movie as my favourite one, it would be "Million Dollar Baby", what a beautiful picture, that movie let me know Eastwood was also a filmmaker. I apologize if i get emotional when I talk you about Million Dollar Baby, what happens it's a meaningful movie to me. Furthermore, sometimes I wish I had seen that movie with my dad, who passed away at the age of 58 when I was a 11-years-old kid.
Clint is the sort of person who checks his baggage at the door when he's working. That is the sort of man you want to work with, period.
8:44 "Charlie Bird" Oh, dear!
Wait, you mistook John Hamm for Clive Owen?
Last of the Hollywood greats!
I imagine that an actor sitting down while receiving directions from Clint would find himself wondering at times if he was speaking to the chair or to the actor.
Unforgiven is probably the best movie Ive ever seen.
That’s Jon Hamm, not Clive Owen
There is no actor in the world I'd lose my composure to, but if it were Clint Eastwood, my inner voice would scream, "Keep it together, dummy, he's just a cool guy." Now if it were Michelle Pfeiffer...
One's who say bad things about his style of directing.. got their feelings hurt while making a blockbuster movie with a legend. ❤ Clint Eastwood
He’ll always be Josey Wales to me…….
Love that movie.
As much as I love Blondie, I love Tuco more.
I love Mr Eastwood im 37 and watched a fistful of dollars....going thru my YT shorts brought me here and im flabbergasted to just learn his actual daughter played in MULE!!!
My mother took me to see “Play Misty For Me” as a ten year old. I thought to myself while watching that movie was what the hell were you thinking bringing me to see this.
When Eastwood passed half the planet will want to eulogize this man who was the epitome of the phrase "larger than life"
Eastwood is awsome
Did I miss Scott Eastwood and Hilary Swank?
The goat
The world is a better place because of people like Clint Eastwood.
the 1st time i saw Clint on screen was on a Mister Ed show with the talking horse
I didn't see Hilary Swank.
I just imagine Clint Eastwood saying, through gritted teeth, "ok guys" and "that's enough of that".
I'm sure that's not how it went, but it seems like it could have.
i took a film class and the instructor comes into the classroom and says, "Good morning. What makes a great movie?" Without thinking i blurted out, "Clint Eastwood." We ended up talking Clint the entire time.
I'd love to be directed by Eastwood.....but I"m not an actor so that may be an issue. :)
Clint Eastwood will always be Rowdy Yates to me.
I could shoot you I could stab you or I could let you Go , it's All Up to You - I remember that quote perfectly as it were Yesterday
I didn't see Scott Eastwood, or Hillary Swank.
i love clint since i first saw dirty harry back in the 70s and i wasnt a big fan of sondra locke. to be honest what i know of he was pretty mean and hurtful to her and her career . but yeah hes an awesome legend
Where’s Hilary? My favorite actress ever. Because of Clint I met her once and I couldn’t say a word
Clint was a STAR....DIRECTOR.....PRODUCER......COMPOSER.....CONDUCTOR.........WRITER......and just ONE COOL GUY!
There's a saying for ground floor workers.
The best Forman's are the ones that used to be ground floor workers.
I'm starting to feel it might be the same for directors. The ones that used to be actors knows the drills, knows how the actors feel. And do a better job with the actors.
Course this isn't true in all cases, and there's many good Forman's and directors that do amazing work having never been ground floor workers or actors.
I literally clicked on this for Hilary Swank, and funny enough, she is not in the video. Thanks for paying attention.
More than likely, that portion of the video was claimed and had to be redone
Rowdy yates
They should talk about someone when they're dead, only!
That's Jon Hamm in the first clip, not Clive Owen.
First glance I thought it was Eugene Levy with trimmed eyebrows.
The man with no name!
Where was Hillary Swank?
Come on guys, this is Hollywood. Surely somebody can put him down.
Clint Is Always...Da Man.No Better Human Being..& Actor 😅😮😊😊😊🎉😂❤
The whole world will mourn at his passing.
The WHOLE world 🌎??? The WHOLE world??? 😁 I really don't think so. US yes, but, it's a big planet. Even in the US its certainly not going to be everyone, let alone the rest of the whole planet! 😅
I love his movies. Always have. Always will. I hate new movies. To much cgi. But I’d also say I’m sure Clint is a very controlling person. Look at all the ladies he’s been thru. And look at what he did to Sondra. He has a ton of power and he’s used it every day of his life.
And the stupid women should have known that.
THIS MAN IS THE MAN THAT EVERY AMERICAN MAN SHOULD WANT TO BE!!!!
There has never been a film better than Unforgiven.
It’s not Charlie bird. HIS NAME IS CHARLIE PARKER.
First interview I've seen from Morgan with any kind of excitement. Some actors aren't worth the interview, Freeman,De Niro etc.
I don't care much for newer actors. I think actors from a long way back leave their mark on us because they cut their teeth in a different era. Their era of movies required longer takes, fewer takes, and more actual acting. Newer actors takes are shorter, less memorization, and the director cuts and pastes all these tiny pieces..........and it shows in the movie because there are no scenes longer that a few seconds before the camera jumps to something or someone else.
Plus the movies back then were more memorable
Of course Clint did the Mule, he likes tackling the gritty topics that gnaw away at society.
He’s also a sucker for an underlying moral story. The Mule was disappointing, back peddling to not be a hard-faced man and husbands have to be humble to wives. All a tone of regret on his own life. Not allowing forgiveness to himself that people are humans and make mistakes or choose pathways that work at that time. So his lone hard style fits for some people - the softer ending to Mule wasn’t fitting. Gran T on the other hand was well delivered.
I love all his westerns. And I’ve tried to pin why, because watching his acting it doesn’t seem all that special. Other no-mark actors have done the same roles, say the same types of lines and become nothing. Clint has something!
He can be so plain, single type, yet it works. Not one dimensional exactly, but not far off. He delivers messages very well. He fits a grumpy old man and often humble, flawed.
I wouldn’t ever put him in many movies - but the ones he did worked. Very relatable.
Favourite quirky film has to be Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
His films would have to be in my desert island collection if pushed.
Take. ALL OF THIS.....now consider the man of the moment... and HIS TRUTHFUL WORDS on #44. just sayin
I'm convinced everyone says nice things about Clint because they're truly terrified of him
Did he play any other roles than a tough guy young or old?
Yes.
Morgan Freeman mentioned "Play Misty For Me" (1971). Clint also starred in "Paint Your Wagon" (1989) (a musical), "Bronco Billy" (1980), "Honkytonk Man" (1982), "The Bridges of Madison County" (1995), "Trouble With The Curve" (2012), and probably some others that were borderline "tough guys".
@@milescoburn1845 Thank you very much.
Say what?
Is Sondra Locke her mother? Gotta be.
Whatta great Man and true human being. I believe his spirit and aura transcend through the process like an ideal father, nurturing and guiding with no tricks and tactics generally brought on by ego and insecurity, having been on both ends of the process. Even better he understands that movies are stories meant to elevate and illuminate the human condition like very very few others. I’ve always been a fan of his since I was a child and this video is a confirmation of my hopes and dreams of who he is. An ideal imperfect but sincere human being offering himself wholly and freely to any and all through his craft- God bless him!!’
Never rated him myself. Hes been in some really, really god awful films..Dirty Harry is an obvious one. He's also been in a FEW very good ones. Looks great in the brilliant The good the bad and the ugly, but, completely wooden as an actor..really wooden. Cant understand why anyone can think he's a good actor, let alone a great one. I find him really poor and one dimensional, personally, exactly the same character in every single scene of every single film. One character only and thats it. Amazingly, despite the years he's got worse instead of better, in my opinion, which is quite an achievement in itself.
"How was working with Clint?"
"What was it like being born?"
Nobody remembers being born but everyone remembers working with Clint. I don't get the point of your comment.
Tom Hanks is a good dude??? These people are sick..
Not one said how much of a womanizer he is. Truth is a funny thing!
Really? wow
And took care of all of his family
Extremely hilarious because women initiate 80% plus of Divorce and are the largest mass murdering species on the planet, since everything belongs to them.
So
