I dread the day that I hear that Clint has passed. I’ve grown up with the guy and he’s just the best that Hollywood has ever given us.
No doubt
I, like you, grew up watching this man do his thing,
@@oldgoat142same 💯
I've been dreading it for 20 years.
100000000% Accurate
Clint Eastwood has unknowingly helped fathers and sons bond for over 50 years.
Yes! My first memories are those of my dad and I watching Eastwood movies!
Same ❤
You’re right, never really thought about it like that before. It was always great watching one of Clint’s films with the the old man
That’s evocative , my dad took me to movies in the 70’s. Saw Zulu and The Man Who would be king in the same year, I was about 8. Left a lasting impression and they’re in my top 10. Spend a lot of the time thinking of my late dad while I’m watching them.
He was away on a training course when he watched outlaw josey wales, I was too young but he told me all about it.
Lord I miss him.
@@issyjas3309 Miss mine, too. In the 80’s, every time we went to the video store, I would bypass the kids section and pick an Eastwood movie instead because I knew he would watch it with me.
Even Clint as an old man is legendary... Unforgiven and Gran Torino are amazing films.
And million dollar baby.
I still want to see the movie where he’s a drug mule.
The train fight movie sucked, but it was a rare miss for Clint
In the Line of Fire and Space Cowboys also
Even the one where he's a drug mule was good...even a 'Bad' Clint Movie beats a modern day CGI flick like Marvel Avengers etc...I mean Clint shared billing with an Orangutan, but actors these days share billing with CGI Racoons FFS...
Nobody will ever do what Clint has done . One of a kind, in a class all by himself. Legend .
"That's right. I am William Munny, killer of women and children. And now I'm here to kill you, Lil Bill."
That was the Eastwood swan song -- and it was almost 35 years ago.
The all time greatest. No better example of a true screen icon.
yep, hes number 1.
Clint Eastwood is the kind of man other men respect and admire. And that’s the biggest compliment I can give him. His work will be watched, loved and studied a hundred years from now. Legend.
My son is 25 and a big fan of Clint Eastwood, he literally has all his movies on bluray/dvd, including the ones he's directed without acting in it.
Of course I introduced him to the man.
I recall that Clint was very supportive of Pulp Fiction at Cannes.
Quentin should have cast Clint in a movie.
Will never be another like him. Simply awesome .
I just love the passion Quentin has for movies. I've always loved Clint, but hearing Quentin speak about him has me fired up. QT just has a way of describing movies that hits differently than anyone else.
One of my favourite film watching memories is… one night me and my brother stayed up late and watched “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”.
It was next level for us… the best thing we’d ever seen, and heard.
Eastwood more than an actor, he is a wonderful director whose movies never get old, so I'm amazed by his capacity to continue making movies despite being a 90-years-old man. Regarding his films, my dad, who passed away, was a big fan of Eastwood's movies and especially, from The good the badt and the ugly. In fact, a few days ago I saw Million Dollar baby and I found it so meaningful, I apologize if I get emotional what happens that sometimes I wish I had been that movie with my dad.
The Good,* the Bad* and the Ugly.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 What's your favourite Eastwood's movie?
@@sebastianalegria3401 I'm not the person you asked but I would say either Unforgiven or Gran Torino because of how well he was able to portray a leading role as an older man.
@@pricklypear3625 what you think about Million Dollar Baby as a film?
Mystic river is one he only directs but its an amazing movie.
No one has ever been able to replace him as THE western icon. (Along with Lee Van Cleef, obviously)
Clint or the Duke?
John Wayne was on equal ground.
@@Gamevet John Wayne hated Clint Eastwood. He didn't like the "anti-hero" and violence portrayed in his westerns. Wayne wanted westerns to be more positive and people should be cheering for the correct character.
@@WingsandBeer Yeah, I know. Eastwood had brought that up in an interview.
Too many over 100 years to pick just one.
Clint Eastwood is a legend!
I am glad he brought up Firefox, I loved that movie as a kid. The special effects do not hold up today but its a fun movie.
And while most consider it a forgettable movie, in any action flick dealing with futuristic fighter jets these jets looks exactly like this Firefox jet.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 honestly the dogfighting scenes are such a small part of the overall movie it doesnt really matter how they look on the screen these days, and it doesnt take anything away from the movie.
Firefox and Bronco Billy are two of my favorite movies. Both are at the top of my yearly watch list.
Clint Eastwood will be like John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart; he will always been in the culture and his movies will be talked about in 50 years.
John Wayne was a phoney, one-dimensional actor who only portrayed The Duke. Not in either of Jimmy or Clint's league, in terms of talent. Fame doesn't equate talent...unfortunately, much of the general public's blinded by hype & including their bad taste...Garth Brooks is another example.
@@loilt5091 That is one opinion, but John Wayne did some great movies and had some great performances.
@@EddieHenderson92
Granted, but WAAAAAAY overrated‼️
@@loilt5091 Just to throw this out there, I'm not a huge John Wayne fan but I like some of his movies and I respect his career. I don't see him overrated because nobody is saying John Wayne was the best actor but he was a hell of a movie star and not too many actors have as many iconic movies as him.
@@EddieHenderson92
Let’s agree, to disagree…I’m in my 60’s, a film buff, with eclectic tastes, well beyond the Western genre. So there’s a multitude of greats I’d place well ahead of him, both men & women. Generally, I find many of his more famous films, entertainingly average, hardly Criterion, critically acclaimed or of any cinematic significance…Stagecoach is likely the only one I’d place in that category. And don’t get me started on his lack of range & real acting chops. He sold lotsa tickets, made the studios lotsa money & gained tons of fame…that’s NOT important to me.
Many actors & actresses have all kinds of iconic movies on their respective resumes. Based on that bias/limited statement, it’s likely safe to say you have a V E R Y limited scope & perspective when speaking of cinema. Let’s see…mostly action flicks; generally, with simple, cookie-cutter dialogue, all kinds of chase scenes, lotsa guns, explosions, fighting…
🇨🇦
Absolutely!....I saw that opening scene as a teenager in A Fistful of Dollars & was blown away & been hooked ever since to Clint.
The story is that in "Where Eagles Dare" Richard Burton was drunk most of the time and Clint was literally holding him up.
Parents took us to see Richard Burton some play on broadway. Burton was smashed and fell off stage.
The original script had lots more dialogue for Clint.
He said, "Burton's got a great voice. Let him do all the talking, I'll do all the killing"
My friend and I used to have a Clint Eastwood night every week back in early 90's. We would rent 2 -3 Clint Eastwood movies Westerns and Dirty Harrys were always the choices, sit back have a beer and some good whiskey and just watch non-stop till they were all finished! One of my movies icons hands down!
It’s clear that Quentin is passionate about great film and great actors and because he knows his craft so well, he’s one of the best to pay tribute to an iconic actor and director like Clint.
When you listen to a student of film like Quentin speak on these matters, not that there’s an abundance of these… It’s the analysis that matters, the analysis that cuts through. This a true student recognizing one of his true masters in the art form. It’s great stuff.
They didn't even need to give Clint all that many lines because he says more with his eyes and facial expressions you definitely get the point he's making. He has some of the most iconic lines to this day though. An absolute legend.
Mr. Clint Eastwood is the most iconic and most badass actor that ever graced the screen, one of my personal heroes growing up and a living legend, there is no other actor past or present that enjoys respect and admiration as much as he does.
And to top it all off he does movie scores too! Absolute Legend!
One of Clint Eastwood’s finest films is “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot” and he gets outstaged by a legendary performance from his young co-star; Jeff Bridges.
And the great Michael Cimino
And George Kennedy was great in that one too - playing a bad guy this time.
@@kevinfroude8679 Yes, my favorite Kennedy performance. Geoffrey Lewis was also noteworthy as Kennedy’s rather dopey partner in crime.
@@tommaxson9798 I forgot that Geoffrey Lewis was also in that movie - a great Stalwart of several of Clint's films.
@@kevinfroude8679 High Plains Drifter and Every Which Way films.
"Josey Wales" was his best western.
Yep.
One of my favourite of all Westerns - and I have seen a lot of Westerns as it's definitely also my favourite genre as well.
@@kevinfroude8679 _"It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life ... ore death."_ - Ten Bears
@@0-by-1_Publishing_LLC After which they made peace - classic movie scene....👍
I think that honor goes too Unforgiven, the High plains drifter.
My favourite scene in Firefox is when he's jogging in Alaska and starts sprinting towards his log cabin when he sees the military helicopter triggering his PTSD. The film isn't his best work for sure but it's certainly still above average and enjoyable for the most part.
Clint is the man.
this the greatest channel ever. James Whale Bake Sale youre my hero
Where eagles dare is amazing
Unforgiven is the best western i ever saw. Praise well deserved & earned.
He's one of a kind. Never copied anyone and no one attempted to copy him and pulled it off. He's a legend and a directing genius. Easy to work with
In my childhood I was a die hard Rambo fan but when I watched Where Eagles Dare I was blown away, Eastwood mowing down nazis with two submachine guns is the most badass action scene that I ever watched and Eastwood made Rambo look like a pussycat
To each their own. Always hated such scenes and still do, no matter who's the hero and no matter how "bad" those who get mowed down might be. They're just utterly stupid because nobody keeps running into a never ending stream of bullets.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 then why bother to watch the clips from the movies you think are stupid? For example I vehemently hate Barbie type of stupid "feminist" movies but neither did I ever watched the trailer or the movie clips simply because as per your words "each to his/her own" I think those type of movies are utterly stupid so I don't waste my time
@@einundsiebenziger5488 When the americans stormed normandy beach they litterally kept running up on machine gun nest. Its more realistic than you would think
I am 46 now and my father passed 3 years ago. When I was a kid my dad loved Clint and we watched all his movies together. He is my favorite actor of all time and his movies give me such fond memories of my dad.I now watch them with my son and hope that someday he feels the same way.
So glad that 🎬 Quinten who’s from my generation of filmmakers gives Clint his props in this RUclips documentary 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸🏆

Clint Eastwood a true living legend. There will never be another.
Great editorializing really nice thanks
I saw the spaghetti westerns when they first came out. Each went on to become a second feature staple at drive-ins for the next 10 years. They never got old.
The Outlaw Josey Wales…my favorite and best western ever!
Best account on youtube. Thank you.
my favourite characters to me, embodies him, Inspector Callahan and Josie Wales🏴🇬🇧🏴
Hello fellow welshperson. I enjoyed tightrope too. A dirty Harry knock off but good.
Next week, Andy Warhol rates Leonardo Da Vinci.
When Ennio Moricone died I cried all day, Clint Eastwood gone , and I will just die with him!!! I own the 36 DVD movies pack , and I am never tired of hearing his voice and name! ❤❤
I too dread the thought of Clint passing! I’m 65 and still have about all of his movies and actually watched the good the bad and the ugly last night! His movies just are timeless masterpieces!👌
good, bad, ugly , , , , , i saw that movie when i was a little kid in the 60s and i never forgot it , , , clints old westerns are the greatest ! ! !
Nails it on storytelling directors….
Eastwood is probably my fav actor ever. I’m 55 and watched him all my life. Thanks Clint for your sexy, righteous guidance. Kick ass and cool under pressure ❤
He was my boss at the hogs breath inn in Carmel ! We all loved working for him. 👽
I like how Quentin is yelling from 27 feet down hallaway
One of my greatest heroes growing up in the 60s.
Thanks for this!Tarantino on Kurosawa's works a dream🎌
One of the last of the golden era of Hollywood. Few actors draw and audience like Clint !
Love it!❤
Very generous of him- true respect. In my new book Becoming a Writer I namecheck him as one of my artistic heroes. You csn order it from Charlie Byrne's Bookshop, Middle St., Galway, Ireland. Thanks for letting ne plug it and thanks for posting this video🎉
Well as a fellow Galway man I’ll certainly be checking that out
I hate it when I’m wrong about the number of coffins to get ready.
The goat, period.
I remember 24 hours of Eastwood on TV growing up in the early 90s. My dad and I would annoy the hell out of my mother (who doesn't really like Eastwood movies) and we'd not only watch everything that they put on TV for us, but we would recite pretty much damn near all of the words, and even the music too!
Best part of where eagles dare is when he’s just towering over everyone in the background with his 6’4 frame lmao!
The greatest presentation of how cowboy should look like. He was born to be Man with no name.
I came here for Eastwood and I get ice cream? WTH
Clint keeps his movies simple and entertaining, it’s what movies should be two hours(or less) of an escape then back into the light !
I think it's a scene from 1517 to Paris. Generally considered a bit of bizarre direction.
Awesome 👍
Eastwood is simply put, the greatest all time
Everything about the good the bad and ugly is amazing
I never liked western movies till I sat down watched this masterpiece
Different league to the rest.
Unforgiven is my favorite.
🎬 It’s a NeoWestern masterpiece 🎬
Best ending in the history of cinema
This is so true. Whenever I'm scanning Westerns on any streaming service, I see if there are any Clint Eastwood films. If there isn't any, I just move on. That's not to say there were still some great movies with Henry Ford, John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Kurt Russel and Lee Van Cleef, but for some reason Clint just set the tone and is forever burned into the minds of Western movie lovers
This was great. I would have also like to have seen a bit of Play Misty For Me squeezed in there. Also, and maybe I'm missing something obvious, but what was the point with the ice cream store at the end? What's the connection, if any?
I read the book Firefox and a follow up called Winterhawk. Great author for the time.
Legend. Alongside with morricone and leone are for me legends. With a special mention to volonte, wallach and van cleef. The last of them.
I was fortunate to see The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at the theater at age 15 in 1968; we knew nothing of spaghetti westerns, and did wonder why so many names in the titles were Italian. Since then GBU has been my favorite film, and we saw all the other spaghetti westerns in theaters on first release in Arizona as well. So I definitely understand and agree with Tarantino and his homages to Eastwood, Leone, and Morricone.
When I was growing up, it didn't matter what the movie was if Eastwood was in it, I was watching. He was one of the first bad, good guys.
The guy can't overact even on purpose.
Greatest living movie legend
There's legends then there's "Clint Eastwood". GOAT!!!!
Just watched GB&U for the umpteenth time and just realised how well Clint is rocking skinny blue jeans in 1966. Viva Clint.
I love going the New Beverly Cinema, Tarantino owns it. I hope he shows more of Eastwood's movies.
Awesome Guy!😀
I have a lot of respect for Clint Eastwood; he obviously learned a lot from working with journeyman directors like Don Siegel. There was a story I sort of remember about the making of Bronco Billy. There was a scene where the characters are pulling up to a gas station with their car overheating. The prop people were using dry ice to make the “smoke,” and it wasn’t enough to be able to see, so they used more dry ice, and then it was too much. They were going to try again, but Clint said, “Forget it, we’re not making a movie about a car overheating.”
One of the greatest actor in the history of Hollywood.
Biggest star ever...a true legend.
Unforgiven is one of the best movies of all time !!!
1:50 I can agree with QT on this. So true.
What I would give to witness Clint Eastwood be in a Tarantino flick, cause you know damn well that man would be up day and night writing the best damn character for Clint to play
What a man
Clint fkn rules
Where Eagles Dare is one of the best movies ever made.
Clint is Hollywood 🙌
Clints run in Hollywood is second to none!
I never really liked westerns until I watched Clint. Favourite is Unforgiven.
There are so many good lines in Josie Wales... I wouldn't know where to start, definitely my fave'. Then Good, Bad & Ugly, then.. Eiger Sanction.
what tarantino doesnt realise is that the arcade scene at this time was huge and they needed clint to be the frontrunner to the arcade game 'firefox' it was the whole 'real life video games you press the buttons hand stick, to engage the next scene type deal. it was cutting edge for the time. A LaserDisc video game is a video game that uses pre-recorded video (either live-action or animation) played from a LaserDisc, either as the entirety of the graphics or as part of the graphics.
Clint Eastwood made fun of his roles while he was presenting the Oscar substituting for Charlton Heston. He said they select a guy to fill in for Charlton that didn’t say 3 lines in his last 12 movies.
Yeah and?
He meant that they replaced the actor (Charlton Heston) who played historical figures who did a lot of talking, specifically 'Moses' in "The Ten Commandments" and "Ben Hur", with an actor (Clint Eastwood) who hardly spoke in his movies, to deliver an Oscar presentation speech in front of thousands of people.
Let me know if you still don't get it, I can explain some more.. Capiche?!@@stevem2323
Clint* Eastwood
@@einundsiebenziger5488 thanks
Indeed
Well, I guess "Where Eagles Dare" is where Tarantino got the inspiration for his tavern scene in "Inglorious Basterds!" I love how QT's films are inspired by his deep love of cinema. I can't wait for the man's final film. I have no doubt it'll be a masterpiece.
Clint provided an excellent entertaining movie, T.V and was a very good human being. What a delight to have the privilege of being able to see someone is human to the core!
Just remember that when you watch Fistful of Dollars ... and you watch that scene with the coffins... remember that was lifted completely, as was most of the rest of the movie, from Yojimbo by Akira Kurosawa.
"Get 3 coffins ready"
"Ah eh uh"
Great writing!
Anything Clint Eastwood did always had his character in it and you always went to see him in his movies no matter what they were
I like when he talks to chairs
Big fan of Clint, particularly in Thunderbolt & Lightfoot.
But let's not forget that Clint Eastwood was one of the judges that voted for Pulp Fiction as best film.
2:45, what is the movie with the cage?
Go ahead. Make my day.
