For me, Unforgiven came out of nowhere. Had seen every Western movie under the sun. Even the Post-Modern '70's Westerns. Unforgiven blew me away. Mr. Morgan played his role to a T, and carved out a part of cinema history in my heart. The story about Mr. Hackman is pure gold.
It's quite incredible that Clint was able to direct two movies 12 yrs apart that both have this great on-screen chemistry between himself and Morgan Freeman that you can come back to and watch any day!
For me it's Glory. I remember being in my early 20's and when he said "Times gonna come when we have to ante-up and kick in like men........LIKE MEN!" it sent a chill down my spine and I felt like I could run through a brick wall. Inspiring.
It's kind of an interesting question, though. I wasn't sure whether the question was "what was his favorite movie to act in" or "what was his personal favorite resulting film to watch?"
What a brilliant portrayal of a pimp. That was my first exposure to him other than Electric Company. I'm astonished somebody else remembers that movie.
All of those are great choices, but I really liked “The Big Bounce”. A well written story, a great ensemble cast, and a cameo credit as a construction worker by Tony Dorsett.
Gene said to Morgan something like, And when their lies don't match your lies, I'm gonna hurt you; not nice like before; but really bad. Lol Love that movie. My fav all time western with a very very close second if Good-Bad-Ugly.
“Not gentle like before, but bad” (when the audience had just watched Hackman violently whipping Freeman over and over. That line was so subtle but terrifying, and Gene’s eyes and little head nod, and Freeman turning his face towards him out of absolute astonishment and terror, was perfect
Funny how the host asks Freeman his favorite film of his - giving him only a limited number of choices - and then pushes Freeman to choose 1 of that list when he doesn't want to - then when Freeman picks "Driving Miss Daisy" the host changes the subject pretty quickly and pushes Freeman to talk about the HOST's preferred movie, "Unforgiven" - overall, it looks like this host is forcing the conversation instead of just listening to what the actor has to say and exploring that - disappointing

Unforgiven is one of the greatest films ever made, my favourite!

Smaller role but The Dark Knight is one of his top 5 movies easily
Gene, Morgan and Clint are Hollywood legends
Street Smart(1987) was his actual favorite role.

I hate that so few people even know of that flick's existence lol it's unreasonably undervalued!
Watched Unforgiven so many times. The 1st time, I didn’t catch The Kid was full of bs until the end. All the actors were great.
A truly honest gentleman . . . a national treasure.
Glory and Unforgiven

I love MF but Hackman is my #1
I was hoping for him to say “I am God I do not have to choose” 😂😂
Lol at "Oh, thats right"
It's "and not gentle like before. But baaad."
Glory
It’s hard to choose but I thought he was great in Clean and Sober
Love driving miss daisy!

I agree. Driving Miss Daisy wasn't even discussed despite it being Morgan's favorite.
