Ed Norton is such a great actor and fun person to listen to. I'm glad hes getting back in the spotlight and able to talk about his achievements in film
It doesn't get much recognition, but I really, REALLY loved 'The Illusionist'.. I watched it twice in a row to catch the subtleties I missed... I thought it was a brilliant movie and performance.👍👍
I never watched it a second time. It came out the exact same time The Prestige came out and The Prestige is already the better movie by far, but some of the plot decisions in The Illusionist just felt so dumb. Now Norton was great in it, but he's always great.

Hey, because I respect and understand your comment, while assuming you're probably passionate about movies and actors, I wanna ask: if you could cast Edward Norton in your dream Marvel or DC Role, which exact character would it be please?! After you answer, I'll suggest mine as well 😎😇🤔
Here’s the rub: this cat has been in some great movies, he’s a fantastic actor, seems like a cool guy and to top it all off, he’s been with Salma Hayek. There’s nothing left for him.
I wish Ed Norton was easier to work with because then we would probably have more performances from him but maybe him being like that has helped him give some of these performances. Either way, I love a lot of Ed Norton’s movies.
He is only going to get better. Brilliant actor and when he talks, seems like a proper straight down the line guy who lives and breathes his characters. He is probably too honest to all the sensitive lovies and gets bad press. The man just says it as it is. Superb actor.
balooko31 Actually, it was the NHL lockout of 2004-05 that created the boom. ESPN needed cheap content to put on the air in a hurry and the WPT/WSOP hole-cam technology was sufficiently well developed by that time. Rounders is the single greatest (probably seminal) poker movie ever made, but the boom was fuelled by TV exposure in 04/05, not due to the movie...
It's surprisingly nice to see an actor who actually ages like a normal person... like,, not that he looks bad, he just looks older than he did 20 years ago
Rounders II would be fantastic, but you have to top the acting of John Malkovich. His character of Teddy KGB when poker was very underground like portrayed, was dead-on!
Even though there's since been a Fight Club sequel graphic novel, I wouldn't WANT a movie sequel, and I'm a massive fan of that thing. And this hadn't occurred to me before, but it'd be interesting to see how his Primal Fear character is doing now, since he did get him off. How many more people has he killed, if at all.
The color of money reference is a great one when i comes to a rounders 2. Huge fan of the hustler and the color of money to a lesser extent but still really liked watching it multiple times. Makes me want rounders 2!
As a proofreader and an Ed Norton fan, I'd love to know if it's true that he worked as a proofreader in his early New York days. He seems like a smart guy, so I'm assuming his grammar would be relatively sound.
@MrBrenman21 absolutely not. Notorious gambler and poker player, yes, but not even close to being based on his story. Moreso a generalized story of many pros who came up during that era.
@MrBrenman21 for starters I'm a relatively big part of the poker community & am extremely familiar with the history of the game over the past couple decades. You're the one that made the claim, show me the evidence and I'll clarify as to why it's wrong.
Funny fact: I always thought he was generically sleazy in The Italian Job and I just found out he was contractually obligated to do that movie and he didn’t want to, so he phoned it in and you can tell! That’s almost as amazing as his good movies.
As great as these two movies are, for me....The Score was just a tour de force. "Nice working with you, ace. Okay, bye-bye." One of the most satisfying ends to a movie....ever.
Malkovich would HAVE TO be in any sequel to Rounders. I'd like to see John Turturro return as well. Clearly, Marty Landau won't be back. He was also terrific in the original.
Wait just curious I like that Edward Norton has worked with a lot of different people, Same with Aaron Eckhart! But I can't remember, has Edward worked with Jack Nicholson? Ben Affleck? Al Pacino?

A good film he was in with De Niro is called "The Score".
Yeah, one scene in Alita: Battle Angel, he's really crushing it

My favorite movie
Fight Club, Rounders, American History X, 25th hour, incredible career, and it isn’t over
Dont forget The Score with Deniro, he was amazing in that movie. Both of them were great.
25th Hour was incredible. My favorite Norton movie.
How can you forget Primal Fear?
True but those movies are about 20 years old. He hasn’t done much in the last 15 years
@@fsociety_ Exactly
“A little less Jerry, a little more Dean” is just good advice for life in general.
Sometimes the reverse can work too 😎 but yeah, i totally agree with you!
I want him to do more films just to see him do more interviews on the internet. This is great!
That is a pretty stupid reason to just see an amazing actor make movies to do a couple of interviews
I think 'a little less Jerry, a little more Dean' is just great advice for life, in general.
What a great interview - So real and no ego - huge respect……..
Edward Norton is a great actor. I'm sure the people in the business recognize his talent. Deserves more public credit.
Yay Edward Norton! Just listening to him is a joy!
He was amazing in "The Score"
No matter how many times I've watched it, the scene where we first meet "Roy" in Primal Fear still gets me. Riveting.
There is no "Roy".
@@roywilson2070 there never was an Aaron.
Lynn A I was making a joke. My name is "Roy". Apparently that went over your head.
I saw this movie for.the first time last month man it was amazing totally in love of his performance

This is of course excluding his previous HULK outing, which i have such a variety of feelings about
love edward norton!!! in my opinion two of his BEST performances were in The Score and Primal Fear
I still think to this day, Death to Smoochy is one of his and Robin Williams most underrated movies. I think the movie is brilliant!!!!!
Great movie!!! IM RAINBOW FUCKING RANDOLPH
Who cares what you think
Love when he talks about how he got beat in the tournament lol 😂😂😂 I hope he will appear in more films in the future. He's very talented and capable.
I forgot how much I miss seeing this guy in movies.

I’ll take the handful of wonderful performances and his complete alienation of bs leftist politics. Damon is dead to me 😆

Rounders single handedly created the poker boom of the early 2000s
1) Rounders, 2) Lipstick cameras in the table showing hole cards on TV, 3) Moneymaker's $40 into $2M main event win ... combo of those 3
balooko31 Actually, it was the NHL lockout of 2004-05 that created the boom. ESPN needed cheap content to put on the air in a hurry and the WPT/WSOP hole-cam technology was sufficiently well developed by that time.

Single handedly? No. Not even close.
@Barry Super Great film!
It certainly didn't hurt. It was like what the movie "Top Gun" did for the Kawasaki Ninja/sport bikes in the late 1980s.
This was a genuinely fun and entertaining interview!
This guys 1 of the best American actors of his generation he really deserves a bit more recognition than he's received.
It is a mystery why he does not
@@olgaanisimova6916 its pretty well known he is incredibly difficult to work with

WOW!! Excellent interview!! And please, please, please, yes, an updated Rounders story done right would be FANTASTIC!! GET IT DONE!!!
RedandBlue Bulldog rounders is the best movie 🍿
What a card story. Incredible.
ed norton answered 'can you make soap' with EVERY answer from motivation to how it's done, without saying YES.
I was disappointed he wasn't asked about American History X
"Did he really get ran through?"😂 What question did you want to hear?
The color of money reference is a great one when i comes to a rounders 2. Huge fan of the hustler and the color of money to a lesser extent but still really liked watching it multiple times. Makes me want rounders 2!

Love Ed....!!
One thing about Rounders II Is Gretchen Mol is still one of the most beautiful women in the world, no matter her age.
Rounders 2!!! Please!!!!

I still like THE SCORE. Nice scenery, nice performance.
i love him sm
Brilliant actor 👏
My rule is, if Ed Norton is in it, watch it. Great Actor.
I'd love to see a Rounders 2.
Jerry vs Dean, being the amplitude of his performance in Fight Club is blowing my mind right now.
I think if anyone should not be called a celebrity.... it’s Ed Norton.... one of the greatest actors of his generation is much more than a celebrity

yea- the way he is able to transition between his two parts in the score is phenomenal and I also think he did a tremendous job in Primal Fear
Yeah, that "Ok, bye bye" I will forever remember that line...
great actor, very underrated
Norton is terrific. Even in substandard films, his work is always world-class.
Fight Club, and the book OMG right in the feels

If Dana Carvey and Dustin Hoffman had a child, it would be Edward Norton.

Great actor, Have to have Gramma and Teddy in Part 2, and of course Torturro
I still wanna see Eddie Norton as Gordon Freeman in a Half Life movie adaption. He's the only actor i can think of who could perfectly nail this role.
soap making class. So Californian!!! Great actor
