Would you recommend the professional version for consumer use over the consumer version? I can get my hands on the professional but don't know if it's necessary. Are there differences in the attachments themselves (other than the strength of the magnet)? I've heard the width of the attachments and the diffuser prong length are different but I'm not sure if you can even tell? Background: I'm a consumer but my mom is a professional and would purchase it using her license for me. So I don't have stylist expertise. Are the attachments on the professional more difficult for a consumer to use? Would there be more of a learning curve for blowing out and diffusing? Is the extra cord length noticeable? I'm afraid that 11ft would be too long while traveling or in my small bathroom. Is the cord thicker? Is the difference in how loud they are VERY noticeable as well? Do both offer the same four heat levels? I wasn't sure
How does the professional work on kinky hair ? My clients have tight curly hair and often i have to blow it out for braids and such what is your opinion
Thank you so much for making this video! I've been wanting to get a Dyson to use in my salon, but I wasn't sure if there was a difference between the consumer version and the professional version. Best Buy had a 20% off deal today, but now I know it's worth it to get the professional version.
Thanks for comparing the consumer and pro versions of the dryer! It was very helpful especially since you are an actual hairstylist like myself! Thank you.
May be the speed of drying comes from the professional smoothing nozzle? I had been thinking about getting the nozzle for my hairdryer and think it might be a good investment. Though it is £42 on the Dyson website 😯!
Around the 4 minute mark, she mentions the magnets being stronger, that's an understatement lol. The nosels will NEVER fall off mistakenly, they take a decent tug to get off
Are both these models a newer version of their predecessor or are you just comparing the newer prof version to the original consumer one (black box)? If that is a newer consumer model, what has changed with “Its” features.. tighter magnetic grip, wider smoothing nozzle , less noisy too?
Professional stylist here: I feel the Dyson is heavy and it kills my shoulder after all day use. The babyliss rapido is so much lighter. The power is nice with the Dyson but that thick handle is so wide that my hand feels strained from the weight too where the rapido has a narrow neck. I just feel for the price, Dyson should be near perfect. I like the condensed design, but the weight really kills it for me.
Professional stylist here too. I've being using my old dyson for 6 years in a salon... Still working. I've used the hairdryer you've mentioned from a college of mine and I need to be honest, I absolutely hate it due to the weight distribution and the tiny cable in comparison to dyson. Regardless I get dyson over anything atm because of the simple fact that this is just such a much better product FOR YOUR CLIENT... And I started using it due to a shoulder injury playing rugby... So not sure about your whole weight situation threre 😂 regardless it's always to do with what you get used to and what you can afford
@@pavlinagrozdeva go with dyson professional. As long as you Learn how to blowdry your hair... Get the flyaway attachment, once your hair is dry after a rough dry add some oil throught the mid and ends, just pop the flyaway attachment and gently stroke your hair in sections with it. Believe me with that attachment and some good products, shammpo conditioner and blowdry products, you can even smooth blowdry a sheep
I am a little confused... Has there been 2 professional models of the Dyson supersonic hair dryer? You kept mentioning "the previous model" but I'm not sure if that is just the original or "consumer version" one. Let me know, Thanks so much P.S THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR REVIEW! Your super sweet, straightforward and informative and I ABSOLUTELY fell IN LOVE with your little girl
Rebecca Flack Girl you work for Dyson AU? Can you spill any insider tips on when the Airwrap will be available to purchase in Australia again? 😉 Everywhere I search it’s sold out, I called Myers to ask and the lady said they’ve had a massive demand and sold out very fast. I’m low key kidding, I wouldn’t want to you to get in trouble, I’m sure there is information that you can’t release to the public 😘
Ok what I’ve been dying to know but no one has covered is does the newer model have a continuous cool shot button or do you need to hold it down to get cool air? I only use cool hair on my hair to dry it....
Ive been wanting to google whether you can dry your hair with cold air for ages!! What do you use? Does it take long? Does it give a smooth result with cold air? Is your hair more healthy for it? Sorry for he questions but I'm just excited to see that someone actually does this!!!! :)
You don’t have to hold it down. There are three modes in the heat button: warm, warmer, hot, cold. Basically, with the heat button you can press it once for warm, twice for warmer, three times for hot and the final time you press the button it will be continuous cold hair. There is also a cool shot button that allows you to press and hold the button while it’s being used in the heat modes!
imo it doesn’t make any sense to by the consumer version vs the professional version if they are the same price, hell $100 cheaper if you have a licensed friend . it’s either the same or better in every category. unless you prefer a “prettier colour”
I’m in cosmetology school. I’m almost done and I’m doing research to find the blow dryer I want to use in the salon. The website doesn’t actually list the price of the professional dryer or an option to buy because it is for professionals. You have to call to confirm that you are a stylist or confirm you’re a stylist in person at a hair show. The only way you’d be able to buy the professional is through a licensed stylist friend willing to get it for you
Alexia Dunn it is indeed listed on dyson website and purchasable to the general public for the same price as the regular version. it’s how i bought mine and i certainly am not a hair professional.
love your video! can you tell us how we can get the discount on the dryer with our license? also, if you happen to know if it applies to the new airwrap?
I ended up having to go through this super long process lol giving them a bunch of documents saying I was licensed, for the professional one anyway. Thanks for responding though!
It has to have both the red and yellow power adapter test and reset circuit breaker button that plugs into the wall and the regulator block in the middle of the extension cord. It has to have both, otherwise it’s a fake. Once you get pass those 2 main points, you check the indicator lights to see if they are blurred.
Question and commment: 1.) You are gorgeous and very talented and knowledgeable about hair and did an amazing job with this video thank you SO much! 2.) Since the professional one drys faster is it possible it burns the hair more? 3.) Would you recommend a normal non-hair dresser person to buy the professional or normal version? 4.) I would recommend not to have your daughter in the video next time as I found her distracting and made me want to turn the video off.
Its a fake version. No power plug is wrong. The silver one that is. Check serial number at dyson. Educate people on this. Chinese police raided a factory recently about this. Look it up please.
Everyone below is the link of what a real dyson looks like. This one she is reviewing is fake. mashable.com/2016/09/16/dyson-supersonic-review/#SqbYdUdq65qC
thomas heny that’s the older version. She bought the newest model straight from Dyson. Dyson would not be selling fakes of their own products straight from their website.
Thomas Henry is absolutely correct, the professional version here which has the white handle and gunmetal head is not legit. The plug is suppose to be a power adapter with the red and yellow button which is a circuit breaker. If you call up dyson or go to dyson.com and start a live chat they will tell you it’s fake. Did anyone notice that the compartment where the power adapter circuit breaker is suppose to be was way to large for the regular plug that was shown.

Do the professional attachments fit the regular consumer model?
Thank you so much for making this video! I've been wanting to get a Dyson to use in my salon, but I wasn't sure if there was a difference between the consumer version and the professional version. Best Buy had a 20% off deal today, but now I know it's worth it to get the professional version.
Do you like the air wrap or the hair dryer
"Dont say uhohh with the Dyson it scares mommy" lollllll
Hello will the professional nozzle fit on the consumer hair dryer?
Yes it does
Ariba did you ever had an issue with your dyson overheating, shuting down.? I see alot of people complain about that?
Just bought the professional one so excited
Me too!
Thanks for comparing the consumer and pro versions of the dryer! It was very helpful especially since you are an actual hairstylist like myself! Thank you.
I’m a barber do you think the consumer stain will be good enough or would you recommend the professional?
Hello! Could you tell me if the pro version concentrator is interchangeable with the consumer model? Thank you.
Yes the pro concentrator fits on the consumer model
Why is the pause before the airflow begins an issue?
question can u use the attachment for professional one the more narrow end piece on the consumer one?
Yes you can, it fits
May be the speed of drying comes from the professional smoothing nozzle? I had been thinking about getting the nozzle for my hairdryer and think it might be a good investment. Though it is £42 on the Dyson website 😯!
Can you still take off the filter completely on the consumer version?
That looked like the smoothing nozzle. The smaller one is the concentrated nozzle for the consumer model.
Around the 4 minute mark, she mentions the magnets being stronger, that's an understatement lol. The nosels will NEVER fall off mistakenly, they take a decent tug to get off
Is the on/off button easier to operate on the professional dryer? I think it’s hard to use on the consumer dryer
I wish you would have talked while the blower was on so I could get a better idea how loud it is
Are both these models a newer version of their predecessor or are you just comparing the newer prof version to the original consumer one (black box)? If that is a newer consumer model, what has changed with “Its” features.. tighter magnetic grip, wider smoothing nozzle , less noisy too?
Hey girl, thanks for this video! Licensed stylist here: how do I go about getting the professional version?? Help! 😩
You can buy it on the dyson website

Yes

I love your make up!! If you are looking for a professional dryer, I would recommend you the Karmin blower! Is a machine and is cheaper
Does that discount also apply to barbers ?
What are the differences in the cord length?
normal one is 9 feet and professional is 11 feet - so 2 foot difference
How did you show your a license when checking out do I email and get a coupon or how does that work!!

What kind of a hair brush do you use?
What site did you order from where you show your license to get $100 off ?

thank you, very meanigful and helpful comparison.
Me gustaría saber cómo te a ido con el y si sirve para una Estilista, me refiero por el uso constante y cual sería la diferencia con el T3
10 minutes!!! With all that hair that is so fast. so good to know thanks!
The non-discounted price for the professional edition is $50 more than the consumer version.
Hello would you buy the professional if you're only a consumer? thank you.
she said in the video she works in a salon. so she isn't just a customer

You can't buy the professional one without being a licensed hair professional.
So this one has a regular plug. I thought if it had a regular plug it’s fake?
Wonderful review, thank you.
I am not a stylist, any chance I can buy a professional version?
You can, she said in the video its just $100 cheaper if you show you liscence.
@@kasiapicur Not true. License verification is required to buy not only to have dicount
Your daughter is so cute and beautiful 😍😘
2023 $479.99, also doesn't come with the rubber mat or the 2nd nozzle. But it does have the superior nozzle.
love your video! can you tell us how we can get the discount on the dryer with our license? also, if you happen to know if it applies to the new airwrap?
very helpful thanks a lot
