    Thank you for your review! I think it is the most honest review of this dryer I have seen yet. You are the first person to mention the difference between the consumer and professional version. I think a lot of people are buying the consumer version thinking it is the professional one most people are reviewing. I cannot see how $50 difference in the two dryer accounts for the differences in the models. At $399 for the consumer version, you should be getting everything the professional version has IMO.

      Well a consumer will not be using it as much as a profesional. Therefore they burn out faster.

    The diffuser gets really hot even on lowest setting because of the metal mesh they put into the diffuser. I carved out the plastic piece and pulled that metal mesh piece out and the diffuser works way better now. I also use ear plus when I diffuse my hair

    I have read somewhere, that the black consumer model is the cheapest one they make. Like more plastic. So that could be the reason why it got so hot. The more expensive version like the blue or completely fuchsia one are made out of metal. Those are really the same as the professional ones except for cord length and the filter. I used both and honestly couldn't tell a difference. But I didn't had the black one.

  • @romykruse6266

    I'm a little confused as to why they would feel different in the hand and work differently considering they have the same specs except for the cord length and the filter. Could you elaborate please?

    • @GracelynMariaHair
      @GracelynMariaHair  3 года назад +12

      As was I! After analyzing the specs over and over and realizing that I had two of (almost) the same exact thing, I reached out to a man who co-created the Dyson Supersonics. I asked him what the differences were and he confirmed what I had already discovered: the only change is the cord and filter. So the only thing I can think of is MAYBE they altered the type of material used or changed the way they built them? Because with my professional experience and now almost two years use of both hair dryers, I know for a fact that they feel and perform slightly different. Hope this helps and thank you for the question!

  • @mirandaleschke
    @mirandaleschke 4 года назад +13

    would you recommend the professional version for consumer use over the consumer version? I can get my hands on the professional but don't know if it's necessary. Are there differences in the attachments themselves (other than the strength of the magnet)? I've heard the width of the attachments and the diffuser prong length are different but I'm not sure if you can even tell?
    Background: I'm a consumer but my mom is a professional and would purchase it using her license for me. So I don't have stylist expertise. Are the attachments on the professional more difficult for a consumer to use? Would there be more of a learning curve for blowing out and diffusing?
    Is the extra cord length noticeable? I'm afraid that 11ft would be too long while traveling or in my small bathroom. Is the cord thicker?
    Is the difference in how loud they are VERY noticeable as well?
    Do both offer the same four heat levels? I wasn't sure

    • @GracelynMariaHair
      @GracelynMariaHair  4 года назад +17

      Hello Miranda, thank you for the comment! Yes, if you can get your hands on the professional version I would do that! Its overall performance and the feeling of it in your hand is unbeatable.
      The attachments are mostly the same, except you do get one wider, thinner concentrator with the pro version. I use the wider concentrator all the time in the salon because it delivers smoother resulted while round brushing. The diffusers are exactly the same in how they're made and they're performance. The attachment are not difficult to use at all! They just pop right on and aid it whatever style you want to achieve.
      As far as the cord length, I personally love a long cord even at home because it means I can move around while drying my hair. But the extra 2 feet don't seem to get in my way at all even in my bathroom and the cords are the same thickness.
      The noise difference stands out more to me because I am around blowdryers everyday and am attune to the differences in pitch, tone, etc. BUT if you as a consumer were to hear the two you might not hear much of a difference. So with that said the I prefer the sound/noise level of the professional one more because I have to hear it all day long and I have more sensitive ears. 🤪
      Yes, both offer the same four heat settings and three air flow settings.

    • @mirandaleschke
      @mirandaleschke 4 года назад +3

      Thank you! This was so helpful! I was mostly just worried about cord length (but I guess two feet isn't a huge difference) and the attachments. I wasn't sure if the concentrator would be more difficult for someone like me to get the hang of who is not a professional. I thought maybe the slimmer concentrator required more technique.
      Mostly want to purchase for the safety and less damage to my hair so if it provides that that's what's important

  • @Deklectic
    @Deklectic 3 года назад

    Dyson needs to knock it off with that price though like this is a very nice blow dryer and everything but its not 500 nice I'm sorry, not to mention the fact that you STILL have to chase with a comb or brush which if I have to do that I'm gonna just get a lower end blow dryer and save my money because I don't see the point.. How ever the Revair dryer is more justifiable in its price # 1 because its faster # 2 saves you from having to chase with a tool like with a traditional hair dryer due to its unique suction design so its more practical to invest in something like that then spending 500 on a dyson thats no different than a basic blow dryer except it simply gets alittle hotter than most.. Like if I'm gonna drop 500 bucks give me something with (NEW) technology something thats gonna completely change the game like the "Revair" don't give me an over priced Blow Dryer that gets alittle hotter but i still gotta go through the B.S of chasing with a comb or brush it makes no sense, they are charging a hefty price for the Name not so much quality because this blow dryer gives me $160 quality at best vs the ridiculous 500 dollar price tag.. Same thing with their over priced vacuums now in 2020 that have terrible reviews yet you can get a vacuum for half the price and it out performs dyson yet they have the nerve to charge so much.. This thing is like taking 500 bucks and flushing it down the toilet unless you get one for free as a gift because dyson has lost their minds with that price Tag...
