    Thank you so much for making this video! I've been wanting to get a Dyson to use in my salon, but I wasn't sure if there was a difference between the consumer version and the professional version. Best Buy had a 20% off deal today, but now I know it's worth it to get the professional version.

  • @mirandaleschke

    Would you recommend the professional version for consumer use over the consumer version? I can get my hands on the professional but don't know if it's necessary. Are there differences in the attachments themselves (other than the strength of the magnet)? I've heard the width of the attachments and the diffuser prong length are different but I'm not sure if you can even tell?
    Background: I'm a consumer but my mom is a professional and would purchase it using her license for me. So I don't have stylist expertise. Are the attachments on the professional more difficult for a consumer to use? Would there be more of a learning curve for blowing out and diffusing?
    Is the extra cord length noticeable? I'm afraid that 11ft would be too long while traveling or in my small bathroom. Is the cord thicker?
    Is the difference in how loud they are VERY noticeable as well?
    Do both offer the same four heat levels? I wasn't sure

    That looked like the smoothing nozzle. The smaller one is the concentrated nozzle for the consumer model.

    Around the 4 minute mark, she mentions the magnets being stronger, that's an understatement lol. The nosels will NEVER fall off mistakenly, they take a decent tug to get off

    May be the speed of drying comes from the professional smoothing nozzle? I had been thinking about getting the nozzle for my hairdryer and think it might be a good investment. Though it is £42 on the Dyson website 😯!

    Professional stylist here: I feel the Dyson is heavy and it kills my shoulder after all day use. The babyliss rapido is so much lighter. The power is nice with the Dyson but that thick handle is so wide that my hand feels strained from the weight too where the rapido has a narrow neck. I just feel for the price, Dyson should be near perfect. I like the condensed design, but the weight really kills it for me.

      Professional stylist here too. I've being using my old dyson for 6 years in a salon... Still working.
      I've used the hairdryer you've mentioned from a college of mine and I need to be honest, I absolutely hate it due to the weight distribution and the tiny cable in comparison to dyson.
      Regardless I get dyson over anything atm because of the simple fact that this is just such a much better product FOR YOUR CLIENT... And I started using it due to a shoulder injury playing rugby... So not sure about your whole weight situation threre 😂 regardless it's always to do with what you get used to and what you can afford

      @@pavlinagrozdeva go with dyson professional. As long as you Learn how to blowdry your hair... Get the flyaway attachment, once your hair is dry after a rough dry add some oil throught the mid and ends, just pop the flyaway attachment and gently stroke your hair in sections with it.
      Believe me with that attachment and some good products, shammpo conditioner and blowdry products, you can even smooth blowdry a sheep

    • @jenellebannister4730
      @jenellebannister4730 5 лет назад +1

      You don’t have to hold it down. There are three modes in the heat button: warm, warmer, hot, cold.
      Basically, with the heat button you can press it once for warm, twice for warmer, three times for hot and the final time you press the button it will be continuous cold hair.
      There is also a cool shot button that allows you to press and hold the button while it’s being used in the heat modes!

      I’m in cosmetology school. I’m almost done and I’m doing research to find the blow dryer I want to use in the salon. The website doesn’t actually list the price of the professional dryer or an option to buy because it is for professionals. You have to call to confirm that you are a stylist or confirm you’re a stylist in person at a hair show. The only way you’d be able to buy the professional is through a licensed stylist friend willing to get it for you

It has to have both, otherwise it’s a fake. Once you get pass those 2 main points, you check the indicator lights to see if they are blurred.

    1.) You are gorgeous and very talented and knowledgeable about hair and did an amazing job with this video thank you SO much!
    2.) Since the professional one drys faster is it possible it burns the hair more?
    3.) Would you recommend a normal non-hair dresser person to buy the professional or normal version?

    • @danhua6002
      @danhua6002 4 года назад

      Thomas Henry is absolutely correct, the professional version here which has the white handle and gunmetal head is not legit. The plug is suppose to be a power adapter with the red and yellow button which is a circuit breaker. If you call up dyson or go to dyson.com and start a live chat they will tell you it’s fake. Did anyone notice that the compartment where the power adapter circuit breaker is suppose to be was way to large for the regular plug that was shown.
