Two weeks later - Sweetwater- 2nd night in the Nor-Cal part & I missed most of (that 2nd night- Yoshi's as I'd bought Tix & was comped by Fender Wray- looking for the Spinal Tap DVD, et al- but it was just fantastic hearing a physicist/guitar legend play & tell great stories. Skunk is still the man. I'm not sure if he was crossing paths w/the Doobie Brothers' 50th Anniversary or something like the Dan that keeps happening to revive. He's a true, modest-to-the-core Genius of the highest order. Hah! Been to Mae Hong Son- farthest West in Thai before it's Myanmar, Khun Sa/Shan State & he told them what they'd be facing if they broke w/ him & those were the kids he entertained. It's like upstate NY as one ascends the Mtn road. I'd like to hear his opinions on Buddy Guy & Cipollina, Jorma.
This took _wayyy_ longer than 48 minutes what with googling more details on virtually every answer 😄 Such a fascinating incredible life! Looking forward to that book
A friend said he was at a Steely Dan Shady Grove show (in Gaithersburg MD-on '70-S' at the time) & "they were doing cartwheels on stage, man!" NOW I know what he was truly seeing & saying. Wow, Buddy Pons' Sights & Sounds- was harassed for selling Rolling Papers in the early store‽ I'd love to have seen you w/ Lowell George!
