I have just joined Northwich anglers, but at the moment I am fishing for perch and pike using lures on the jig and Ned rigs, is it worth visiting the Dane for this type of fishing? Also would the weaver but worth a visit. Cheers mate, I will appreciate any info.
Yep them barbel had me on the wye only spent about 12 days on the dane the rest was spent on the wye barbel are just so awesome to catch danny tight lines buddy ALIEN
Love the content pal on this video, I myself am looking for other rivers like the Dane to fish as myself am from Leyland, have been fishing the Lostock recently for small chub and had 14 the Sunday just gone but nothing nowhere near a pound. Do you know any free stretches of water locally where I’d get bigger chub as I don’t wanna pay a membership until Jan.
Danny some of them Chub would be cracking livebaits for Pike. I miss fishing for Chub we don't have them here in NI which is a pitty I loved catching them.
the swale is one i have longed to fish as it the teme and the calder. the licence i have now has parts of at least two of these rivers on so watch this space matey. appreciate the ideas stephen,tight lines bro
Great video Danny! What would you suggest on tackle if I wanted to float fish a river for Chub, that could throw up very large specimens. I'm primarily looking at doing this in the summer mate. I havevtge old Drennan IM9 13ft flaot rod and decent reel. But I was wondering what main line, hook length material, breaking strains of each etc mate?
cheers julian, i cant really comment on the breaking strains you would need as that would come down to the swims, snags and of chub but i always use drennan float fish main line, hooklink bayer perlon and alwasy kamasan animal hooks when chub fishing. hope this helps mate
90 percent of the videos i film on the dane are between northwich and holmes chapel clive, i find the chub to behave the same on all of them in winter preferring to shoal tightly in one or two swims, i normally spend a day walking the bank after the first frosts to find where they are in that season. happy hunting and tight lines clive

I often think about this river and its potential for big pike given its silvers, never had fish taken mind
