If you want a little more out of these for heavy loads you could install the coachbuilder 1.5” extension from Ekstrom Design

I’m learning that my beloved 2016 tundra has a crappy cargo capacity, which I also learned recently includes driver, passengers any luggage, etc. I have a fiberglass cap as well, and a bedslide. My camper is 3,000 ponds under my tow weight capacity but just unstable when pulling the camper. I installed airlift 5,000 but so far, doesn’t seem to fix my dilemma. I’m going to try different air pressure to see if I can dial it in.

How high is your airbag pressure?
My 7,000 lbs camper trailer (loaded) tows nice and true. I do have a load distribution hitch for that trailer. Helps a lot.
I also haul a 14,000 lbs capacity trailer and have loaded my 8,500 lbs Land Cruiser onto it. Combined weight of 4500 lbs trailer & Cruiser is about 13000 lbs (severely over gross of the GCVWR) but she hauls straight and true no probs.

Is there any update on if higher psi was enough to fix ur dilemma? I have a 2016 tundra. I'm noticing the same when I haul my camper. But I haven't done the bags yet.

Great video…one question do you notice that it hits the internal bump stop when the rear is empty? I’ve heard people say it hits the bump stop way too easy.

Thanks! I may have felt it hit the bumper once after I first installed them. But i generally keep the pressure upwards of 55 psi at all times. And I have no recollection of hitting stops regularly.

hows the ride quality without load? is it softer or rougher than the factory springs?

With only 15 psi in them (what is recommended to keep them at minimum) there is almost no noticeable difference. And with them as full as 55-65 or so I’d say there’s not much “uncomfortableness” when empty. If I forget to air them down from towing psi’s then yeah, it’s noticeable when going over “whoops” in the parking lots/roadways. But nary so much that I’m like “damn! I gotta let some air out NOW”.
I’ve been keeping them at like 40 psi to keep her level with my standard load out of gear in the bed. The shell weight probably helps with this too.
