I'm so glad to finally have a homelink mirror in my EV6! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe for more content! 😀
Jeff thanks for the great video. I recently installed FitCamX to my wind. Now I don’t know how to install this home link mirror mod since there is only 1 power socket that already FitCamX is already using. Can you please help on how I can install both cam and home link mirror?
That's what I have. The Fitcamx gets power from the mirror wiring. If you check this video, I unplug the Fitcamx wiring, remove the mirror (which has the connector), then install the new mirror and reconnect the Fitcamx wiring to the connector on the new mirror.
I found one on EB for a 22-24 Stinger. Exact same mirror as shown in the video. Seller wanted more, but I offered $125 and they accepted. I installed in my '24 EV6 and it works and looks great! Took about 3 minutes to install and then I programmed just like normal. Fantastic! It was the only option that was missing in my EV6.
Thanks for making this video! I ordered the same mirror from an eBay seller and installed it this weekend--works perfectly! A quick tip if no one else has brought it up--you don't need to fully remove the set screw. If fits into a divot in the mounting base on the windshield, so you just need to loosen it enough to slide the old mirror off the mount. That way you can swap the screw over to the new mirror (if needed) and install the new mirror without the fear of losing the screw in the shroud. My replacement mirror had the screw installed so I didn't have to swap the screw.
Picked up the mirror today from a local salvage / parts yard, the tag said it’s from a ‘21 Santa Fe, had to pay slightly more than TJ but still a good deal. Anyway just installed it, easy-peasy and it works great, even has the illuminated direction arrows like on the video. Thanks!
An update for you: 1. I picked up a mirror from my local LKQ location for under $100. Their tag said the mirror was off a 2020 Sonata so I think many Hyundai and Kia models in recent years have used this same mirror, and 2. When removing the old mirror, you only need to loosen the screw (no need to remove it fully) to slide the mirror up and off the piece of metal glued to the windshield (saves anyone from that dreaded lost screw situation). Thanks!
Yes thanks and thanks xBieber for the idea about calling a local junkyard/parts salvage place, seems that all the equivalent looking ones on EBay were already sold out but a quick call located what looks to be the same, on a 22 Sonata, they sent a photo. It still has to be pulled off so when it’s ready next week I’ll go check it out.
When I bought my EV6 I had them throw in the mirror as part of the deal. I was disappointed that it was not standard in my EV6 Wind. But it works great. Just make sure power is on in the car when you try to use it. It is a powered mirror
My son-in-law installed it for me on my 2024 kia ev6 wind and I am following your directions exactly. He already had his doors programmed and he showed me they were working. I got home to my Genie garage door opener and followed the steps exactly with my Genie remote. All of the green flashing occurred at the right time but it would not open my door using mirror only. Is Genie an outlier?.
My new car has what appears to be this exact Homelink/autodim mirror. My old car also had a Homelink/autodim mirror but it had more buttons. On the old car, when the mirror dimmed too much there was a button on the mirror to turn the autodim temporarily off. Is there a way with this mirror to turn autodim temporarily off??? TIA
That’s a cheap and very useful upgrade indeed !! Mine is already installed with my GT Line. I have not noticed the opening direction icon 🤣now i will have to pay more attention … The shroud dashcam is on my list of things to check 🤔
Yeah it's awesome. Oh really? This is from a Santa Fe, so that could be a slight difference. And yeah definitely check out my FITCAMX review. It's pretty awesome as well. Integrated, solid quality, and inexpensive.
@@TechnicallyJeff I checked my mirror when pushing the button. There is no up and down icon 🙄 Just a boring orange dot …. You have installed a real upgrade 🥳 Next one should be an LED screen !
@@cranfktubner7677 I bought a mirror from EBay from a 2023 Kia Seltos and it wasn’t lighting up the arrows when I programmed it the first time. I re watched the video and did more presses after it had flashed green before it started working. I did not get the double green arrows. But whatever I did on the third attempt made it show the up / down arrows.
Hey there are universal aftermarket options available on Amazon - amzn.to/3S3f3L5. I know Wolfbox is pretty popular, but I haven't tested any personally yet though.
Cannot believe that I had the Homelink mirror before you. This was the first mod that I did to my 2022 Wind AWD. I did pay full price for mine. Glad that you found a less expensive option.
Hey Jeff, I was happy to find your video on installing the rear view mirror in your Kia, however I have a 23 sportage hybrid and I opened the shroud to check for a plug in connector and there is no wiring to power a mirror with homelink. Do you have anything for me on that senario? Thanks, Rod S
I have an Ioniq 6 2024, I was thinking it must be the same, so stupid me I ordered the mirror and AFTER receiving it I had checked and mine do not have this connector...
@@TechnicallyJeff Yes an no, I was frustrated at first but if I can fixe it in place of the original I will order a connector and hardware it. Still, I was thinking they at least put the cabling but its an EV so they probably want to avoid unuse weight...
Interesting to see EV6 comes with autodimming interior mirror but not homelink? Ioniq 5 SE comes with manual mirror so there isnt a power cable in there.
Yep I was quite annoyed it didn't have Homelink. Are you sure there isn't power in the I5 SE? I thought the connector was there, just not used in the SE?
Hi Jeff, 1st of great channel lots of useful content thanks. Regarding the mirror, it seems that there are two different types 85110-L1200 and 85110-L1200P2, would you by any chance know what is the difference between the two? Which one do you have? Code should be printed on the back of the mirror.
Thank you for this video. Does anybody else think it is ridiculous that the car doesn’t have this option already? $55k car, 2024 and doesn’t have this option and also have to always be connected to USB to listen to music from your phone 😮
Glad to help! Yeah it technically is an option, but in my opinion it should definitely be standard on the car. Regarding USB to listen to music on your phone, the bluetooth audio functionality of the infotainment system actually works pretty well. I assume you're referring to Android Auto or Carplay though.
@@TechnicallyJeff That was my question because, as you said, there is a lot of them out there with all unique part numbers. I couldn’t imagine what would be different. Alas, i just replaced my garage door opener and bought two new remotes so…
I was told by the last guy I bought from that since I only have 3 wires coming out of the plug on my mirror thats why it doesn't work. I'm missing a forth wire that powers the homelink? One was a 2020 Hyundai santa fe the other was a 2021 Kia stinger..@@TechnicallyJeff
I loved your video. I did some research to get this Homelink for my EV6 Pack2 2024 car and I couldn't find anything like yours. Would you be able to help me by sending me the link so I can get one? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work ;)

I tried a 5 button version from a Seranto. It did not work. Powers up but I wasn’t able to program it.

How do you know if another model's mirror will fit as well as function as a homelink mirror when plugged in?
It'd have to be a newer mirror with the same kind of connector. I just happened to try one that looked similar and it worked.
Jeff, it looks like you did something with the horrible piano black surface where the gear knob is…?
Mine actually is a wind trim, so mine doesn't have the piano black.
Hey Jeff, your video reminded me of a question. Is there an aftermarket digital rear-view mirror available for the EV6? Thanks.

The listing doesn't have a part number. It says it's for a 21-23 Hyundai Santa Fe
