  • Hopefully you can learn from my trials changing the fuel pump on a 2011 2012 2013 2014 Hyundai Sonata. YF model
A sledge hammer and chisel were the best tools for the job.
    Do at your own risk!

I love how everybody skips the hard part that we're looking to see

It was a nightmare with 2 hands and those tools and I didn't have a spare hand to record.

What happens if you dont use the clamp for the line that goes under the fuel pump

You mean the one in the tank? From what I read it brings fuel back from the engine to the tank while adjusting to the tank temperature. I actually ran the car without that tube and did not notice a difference but it must be there for a reason.

@@Andrewsnotes1 no I mean the little clip goes on the hose. Its called a “horse shoe” clip.
I broke that small clip. I just replaced my fuel pump.
And car wont turn over.....it could he the lock ring , not being on all they way....I didn’t put it on all the way because I wanted to test the car first...
Idk , I doubt its the small clip or lock ring ...idk

@@chrisroberts4018 You need that to stop the hose from popping off when the car in in use and pressure is building in the hose. I am not a mechanic, but if not snug it could possible allow air into the hose. Do you hear the pump running when the ignition is turned on?

@@Andrewsnotes1 yes, when I prime the engine (putting key in and turning, but not cranking) I hear the noise in that back coming from the pump. Its also showing how many miles of gas I got left...so the new pump is getting power. I wonder if its a bad ECU fuse, or something with low furl pressure...
Ill buy a new clip and put it on. Maybe the pressure is low because its allowing air...will the lock ring not being on correctly , also cause low pressure? Thus causing no crank?

Possible high pressure fuel pump on engine is not working properly?
