This video helped me thanks for this video! Saved me $300/$400
Yes, I think you just saved me 300 bucks....thank you ❤❤❤
Use a brass chisel when striking on the ring. Brass won't spark. Also the fuel tank strap on that side can be loosened enough to lower that corner on the tank and it puts the opening in the right position so the assembly can come right out.
Thank you very much for the video. And let it be known a chisel with a slight angle at the tip helps the most. flat-head screwdrivers are agony lol
Only taking 30 mins you must be a wizard. Way to go 👍. Great vid.
If you would do one for the fuel filter when you get a chance thanks
Ok will do.
So thankful for this video 🙏
Thanks so much for posting this. I have a 2010 sonata and my fuel sending is broken. Got quotes from local dealers and they want too much to fix it. Been using this video to save myself hundreds of dollars!.
I am looking for a video on how to replace a the boot on a drivers side axel as well.
I have other videos on how to replace axles that will be similar
I have a 2011, and having the same issue. Tried fuel cleaner, worked for a day.
the owner of that car had one heck of an Airsoft battle in his trunk.
Question: I have a 2011. I am guilty of always having my fuel on E. I know it's bad and I am paying for it now. How much is a fuel filter & how hard of a job is this for a non mechanic? Thank you
I have a push start but the same year will it be exactly the same?
First time doing this took 2hrs an hour and half for the damn ring and half hour for the part replacement
Love that you weren’t explaining anything during the most important part
had some questions in regards to my 2011 having this issue would love some help
If the lock ring isnt on all the way, will car start?
Also , what if the small horsehoe clip breaks?
I have a 2008 Hyundai Sonata is that the fuel tank pressure sensor on top
Thank you!
Good job thanks
Would you know if this procedure would be the same for a 2016?
My Sonata is having the same exact problem and engine light is on, had a guy knock on the fuel tank and it started right up. Can you share a link which pump you purchased also did the engine light go off? TIA
Did you use old EVAP sensor plug and replace it onto the new one or used the one that came on the assembly?
If the map sensor is plugged in, but the cover isnt on, covering the fuel tank. Will car start
Got a b 2013, 69350 miles. It just cranks , it does not start, could it be the fuel pump
Thanks!
Is it okay to replace just the pump or the whole assemply? What fuel pump brands you recommend? I saw some cheap Chinese pumps on Amazon at priced at less than $80 but they may not last for long. Quality pumps may cost over $500!
hey so i have code p0091 fuel pump regulator so is that refering to the actual fuel pump. because the autoparts dont have just the regulator just the hole pump. its a crank no start but eventually it starts for a little bit than after a wild it dies and dont want to start. im not sure is the high fuel pressure that is located in the engine conpartment. ??? any thoughts.
You a boss bro
Hi I bought same aftermarket fuel pump for my 2011 Kia optima 2.0 but couldn't get it to work even with priming it.
Is this the same for a 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE. 2.4 engine ?
I replaced my fuel pump car runs beautifully but I shut it off an after 5 minutes it seems like no fuel stayed in the line cause it takes awhile till it draws gas back up to motor then it starts an runs fine not sure y I'm losing gas in my line every Time I shut it off
What did you do at 11:00 to get the pieces separated? That’s where I’m stuck I was hoping this video would help 🤪
What fuel pump to get I think I’m having this problem
Hello, I now have a hyndai sonata hybrid 2014 car and now I have a problem, it knocks out two errors P1B77 and P0A0D, the car has a hit and then another hit and the hybrid error is displayed and asks to stop. If you turn it off and wait 7-10 minutes, then you can go further, but after 1-2 km the same story happens. Did you have the same problem and how did you solve it?
Will this process be the same on a 2011 hyundai sonata gls
Should be.
If you loosen or remove the fuel cap, you will have less fuel spillage from pressure buildup in the tank (17:40)
Yes how do you know if your fule pump needs to be changed I have a 2013 Hyundai sonata and just two days ago I was driving on the freeway and I just started to lose power even though my foot was on the gas
That could be one possibility. This was a cranking no start hit the fuel tank and it started
No it runs just fine and everything you could just have your foot on the gas as you're going down the street of course and you just start to lose power for no reason the engine light or nothing comes on now that brake light stay on and I forgot what you call it but it's the button you push where you're on lose gravel that comes on every once more and stays on also
@@ameliohoward3926 did you figure it out what was wrong I have the same problem
How much would one expect to pay at a shop to have the fuel pump replaced on this vehicle? My mom has this car and was quoted $700 to replace the pump
400 to 600
WHATS THE NAME OF THE FUEL PUMP
If can't see see gas mileage till empty what did mechanic did wrong
Do you think it would be easier to replace the pump by dropping the fuel tank? Also, is there any trick with the fuel float when you install the new pump? The dealership mentioned something about not letting it hang too much.
Did you get it figured out boss
My bracket piece that you struggled with refuses to come off. I have basically started destroying it and it still won’t come off
WD-40
Should I remove the battery before doing this?
If you un plug the connector first than no
@@JaboTheMechanic as in the connecter on the pump itself?
Yes that is correct
Sure make a spark why don't ya. A real genius
Where would the fuel pressure regulator be located ??
It's inside the pump brother.
@@nardbynature good looking fam . What part of the city you from
@@yung1017er I'm from uptown 12 ward.
So look i put the new regulator in and it work good but the gas meter keep saying its empty when its not . What i fucked up ???
Im from the thomas
Use a brass punch to remove the ring, this is what not to do.
How long did it take you from start to finish
30mins
@@JaboTheMechanic I couldn't get the ring off. Waiting for lock remover to arrive
Easy Peezy
*fuel tank pressure sensor, not map
I have a 2012 sonata that had a bad fuel sending unit that I replaced. Got it all back together just as it had been when I took it out, but now the fuel gauge is stuck on full, it looks like the estimated miles left on the tank is reading correctly though. Any thoughts on what it could be? Is there some sort of “reset” that needs to be performed to sync the gauge reading accurately if you only replaced the sending unit?
No either you damaged the floating unit or it came defective
Was you car stopping after you would put gas in ? And taking awhile before you can drive ?
Looks like you play airsoft.
When removing the ring and installing the ring again. Use pliers and pinch the ring on and off. Works like a charm.
The longer I own my Sonata, the more I realize how poorly Hyundai engineers designed this car. This fuel replacement took almost 5 hours because the under side hose would not come off. Finally got it, and then found the access
hole for this is not properly aligned so you can remove the pump easily. Instead I ended up bending the sheet metal to make room for it. Worked perfectly lol. Hyundai sucks, never another.
Monkey effing a football
That did not look easy, you bent metal, scratched up the bottom then it looked like it took forever to get that fuel out, yikes!
It's not hard he just did it the hard way, it's easier with a longer prey bar for leverage and just twist unit it pops off, move around the fuel pump until it comes our have a tub ready because it will still have fuel in it, kia fortes are easier then this car, took me about 20 min and 100 bucks for a new pump on a kia forte 2014 lx, car runs alot better with more accurate range.
What an Idiotic design !!!
