Hey! So good video. Not big, on point and clear explanations. I have a BMW 116i 2007 e87. (N45 B16 A). I had previously changed O2 sensor and MAF sensor, exhaust sensor, as I had codes for them. The codes disappeared and left a code for exhaust vanos. So I decided to change both of them as well as the exhaust sensor. But after I changed those, the car has very rough idle, shaking engine and misfirings. Codes for cylinder 4, camshaft sensor exhaust and vanos exhaust (both are new). I had an idea that might be fuel injectors and as I open the valve to depressurise the petrol in rail there were no pressure. Is there possibility to be the fuel pamp(s)? Please help P.S. To mention that the car experiences symptoms you describe in video (hesitation, check engine oil, rattling noise, stalling) except rough idle and shaking engine. The last appeared after the vanos changed.
Vehicle stalls, invariably, after finishing slopes. Even small slopes. It will stall if you press hard on the gas. Reluctance to move from standstill. Black exhaust fumes. 1AZ engine. Toyota Noah. What could that be? Thank you for this video.
I installed a new HPFP on a 2013 Malibu. Job went good. car runs good now... all lights off. I got a gasoline smell.. retighten the high pressure line nuts... still an occasional wiff of gasoline inside car.
I’ve put 4 hpfp on my 2014 focus st in the last 6 months. I put a new lpfp in the tank. The cam and the follower look fine. No metal shavings. Not scaring. Anything else that could be causing it to fail
My car never had a sound coming from it. It was quiet, now I hear noise coming from under the hood. It’s a 2010 Lexus gs350 now it sounds like a sports car when I press the gas. I hear the noise under the hood not from the back of the car. What’s wrong with my car? Can you help. Please explain.
Poor oil maintenance for the life of the vehicle is what happened. Even with tge super synthetic oils that claim 15k miles like amsol or pennzoil ultra platinum, you need to really change tge oil every 7500 miles at tge most to get the vehicle to make it in the 200-300k range without replacing a bunch of bullshit. So many things run off the camshafts now including the part in tge video. far and few oil changes with cheap oil = all these problems and more. No way to tell what the actual problem is on a YT comment but it sounds mechanical like HPFP part mentioned. The sad thing is what these thing go for, 600$+ at oriellys for the one on my car. Ebay has them dort cheap but i wouldn't trust the cheap china part.. not with this at least. Perhaps there is a brand name one like Bosch or something for 150 or so though.
have a 2018 ford escape with 70000 miles on it. It was hesitating and not accelerating. Removed the old high pressure pump and found out the needle bearing broke off and ended up damaging the camshaft. Needle bearing is in engine somewhere. Need a new engine.
I got real question to ask how can I get the sewer out the hole on the high fuel pump what if the sewer broke inside of the hole how can I get tha out of there
What would be the pressure of the in tank fuel Pump and the pressure of the high pressure fuel pump for a diesel engine for a pick up truck??? Thank you
I think they should be about the same ALOT of if not all diesel engines have a mechanical fuel pump kinda like these but from what I've seen much larger. That is IF they have one of the in the tank pumps from what I've heard some don't and it causes a lot of issues in certain trucks and they keep having those issues till they install one I'm not a diesel guy though I only work on lawn mowers that are diesel like the older Kubota stuff lol they got inline fuel pumps and a high pressure pump just before the injectors! Anyways I know this is an old comment just figured I'd be the first to answer it hahaha a year later though
I have a Ford 150 3.5 eco boost. Crank no start. Original code was a P0087, i pulled the the pressure line off to see if fuel was coming out of pump in tank, and only a trickle came out when cycling key. I replaced the pump inside the tank, and truck still wont start. Now i have a p00c6 code. Should i replace the high pressure fuel pump next? Resistance readings on sensor on high pressure fuel pump are within specs.
Hi guys can a bad hpfp seal and cam follower cause fuel to leak in oil?? Because I smell gas from my dip stick but oil levels are normal and I have a oil low pressure signal...kindly point me in the right direction guys....oh its a Mk5 gti
HPFP seals blown. Buy a new pump. Make sure its Hitachi or Pierburg as the cheap ones only last a few months. I tried a cheap one and it failed again after 14000km
I wonder.. while driving.. would you have misfires, loud gunshot pops and bang only on acceleration, under heavy load, heavy misfire then code, but on deceleration, sounds normal? Idle also a little choppy, but engine otherwise runs kinda smooth..? I replaced injectors, coils, plugs, checked fuses, tested my low pressure fuel pump, and i have this spare fuel pump, but its used so it may work? Lol find out tomorrow.. Shats your opinion??
Anything I say here is a guess, but it sounds like a timing issue. Both fuel pumps can be tested with an OBDII scan tool or pressure gauge to be sure they are outputting the correct pressure.
very good video, would have anything to say about replacing the HPFP to make more power in a car? I think mine could be faulty and im considering replacing it
yes ...the issue was from the fuel its self. its mixed with little desiel look like . I clean the fuel tank , bibes and feul injectors . and add cleaner fluid to tank now its work fine
Hello someone please help im having a problem , my car has hard start when it just cut it off when the engine is hot , ita very difficult to start what might be the problm
Mine does the same thing found out today that's it's been the high pressure pump! Lol at first start it sounds like the lifters are about to explode out of it then when it settles down it just starts making a very odd tick tick tick noise but I put my hands on the pump and the noise matches perfectly with what I felt under the hood so I'ma change mine out and see if it stops she does have 220k miles though but idk runs smooth no other issues with the engine though
@@Nezdude87 yea I told my buddy almost all of them sound like that after 100k miles he just looked at me like I was stupid found out on mine it's the high pressure pump kinda crazy it makes all that racket and it's so small!
So my mechanic had unscrewed the bolt on the hpfp and had me turn key and gas was leaking from the hpfp..and he said that if my fuel filter or fuel pump assembly was bad then gas would not reach to the hpfp...Is that true?
If it’s 100% clogged, generally the low pressure pump will pump but will more strain causing premature to both hpfp then low pressure pump, it’s recommended to replace modern fuel filters at 30k miles but can be extended by avoiding gas stations with old tanks and rust particles will develop from the ethanol introducing water into the tank

Since the pump was replaced, be sure it is working; if not, check the wiring. If the pump is working, I would check for a clogged inline fuel filter or line.
Also if you have a bad high pressure fuel pump you’ll smell gas when doing an oil change or on your dipstick
This helped a little, but I was looking for a HPFP for a direct injection diesel engine.

Just had this code on a 2020 2.0 accord.
It was the high pressure fuel pump in the engine bay
What can I do with the fault

@@JasonLee-lv7tm wym? Only like 500 bucks
What about if my car is overheating? That’s another symptom?
Overheating is the cooling system of the car, not the hpfp. Check radiator and radiator hoses. A bad thermostat or bad water pump.
if I have issue with this pump .. its will effect on AFM system ? the car is tahoe 2016
Did you solve your issue? My 2016 sierra just died on me driving the other day... won't fire up now, sounds horrible if it gets going at all

Could be time to change it.

Yes
