I'm really hoping they give actual rural customers their systems first. I'm completely off-grid suffering with cell phone internet only right now and desperately need Starlink.
I'm sorry to say you will have to wait a long time.
'Starlink' makes absolutely no physical let alone commercial sense. Just another ol' Elon's snake-oil schemes to keep the investors a-bubblin'. Have a sit down with some basic data on the surface area of the Earth, the effective communication range of low orbit satellites, and the effective ground speed of said satellites. Plug those numbers correctly in to a calculator and you'll have a fair idea of the impossibly large number of satellites required to make 'Starlink' work well enough to have more than just a few seconds of uptime every hour or so.
@@charlesjmouse that's a strange take because from my own experience I have great speeds and coverage with no down time here in the north east... generally get over 200Mbps sometimes eve. around 300Mbps. Compared to the 12 I was getting prior.
Have you tried an sd-wan or 4g bonding method yet? My pepwave unit can handle 4 sims in combination, it works fairly well combined with an antenna.

i live in the pines went from viasat for 200$/month 15gb and ping was so terrible almost couldnt work from home to 170mbps and 600 ms ping to 30 ...has improved efficiency i am appreciative
I live in southern Oregon. Got my Starlink 10 days after I ordered it last March or so. Been working great.
Daughter ordered theirs in February and received her dishy in April. We placed our order in April and 7 months later (now November) we are still waiting. We live in North Texas and are about 9 miles from each other.

I'm in New Mexico east of Albuquerque. Got my dishy in early May 2021. Very low population density area with limited broadband coverage in general. Coverage/service has been good from day one. However, periodic service outages of 20-30 secs occurred all the time at first. At this point though, I rarely see significant drop outs unless a new firmware version is being pushed out.
Rural western new mexico pre order since February, nothing so far! You've given me hope we'll get it soon.

I'll believe it when I see it. 8 months and counting waiting for our extremely low density southern Idaho location. The biggest problem I see with Starlink is that there is absolutely zero transparency on the order process. They claim that your $99 holds you a spot in line but does it? How would we know? There is absolutely zero communication from Starlink until out of the blue you get an email telling you, you just received the golden ticket. (pre-order made in mid Feb 2021)
Literally identical story. Southern Idaho, no communication from Starlink, ordered in Feb. Im living on a POS T-Mobile hotspot that sucks so bad I might get to watch a few youtube videos occasionally. Forget trying to do anything more serious than that.

Good News.. Mountain Beaches ! Just got my order confirmation yesterday. So Starlink (Does) honor your spot in the queue ! I live in Southern Arizona near Quartzsite. Ordered dish back in March 2021. So I hope that encourages everyone ......My concern is that folks in USA may be getting bumped back in line ....while they fill orders in (example.....Nigeria) . Starlink plans to send my dish with-in two weeks ! Will let you know !

Excellent content with good technical details on sattelite deployment (orbital shells). Most Starlink videos are about unboxing which was interesting last year but we need insightful content like this now.

Go on their website and check if it has been updated. Last week they said I’d have it mid to late 202, so now. This week they changed it to late 2022 mid 2023.
Man I’m just hoping and waiting until the polar regions get fully coverage so I can finally get a Starlink and watch 1080 and play 50- ms
@Catsquatch yes that’s the point of my comment if you read point to end. (Of which I presume you have. But Do not fully understand) also in my whole 21 years of living in my home town in the middle of no where. literally in the dead of no where. And get speeds of 0.50 down and 0.40 up. and only for 2 days have I ever used fast internet in a small city of which I had to go to for surgery and had a bit of faster speed and 100- ms instead of 700+ ms.
So short answer yes. Yes I will be happy once it becomes Available to me.
Also be able to game online finally and update game’s and download games instead of ordering them and wait for a month or so

I'm in South Central Texas on the coast. I ordered mine 3/19/21 Received it on 11/19/21 Set it out in my yard and got as much as 400 mbps. I was getting 25 max with toe old system. I thought that was good for out here in the country side. But 350-400 WOW! Love it. I do eleventy-two hundred speed test a day. :)

Mike: Thanks for your informative update, We are still waiting for kit to install in Edgewater, FL 32132. We made the deposit Feb. 19, 2021. We are approximately 30 miles north of Cape Canaveral launch pad 39A and can view most of the launches from a south facing window.

I’m in Querétaro México and ordered in late September 2021. Supposedly service here in Mexico must begin by October 28 but I have no idea when it is reasonable to expect delivery. My current cable internet has maximum upload speed of 4-5Mb only, regardless of download speed. I ordered starlink to try to improve on that since fiber is not an option in my specific area.

I ordered Feb 20th and am in southern middle Tennessee. I'm wondering if my "cell" is going to be "full" due to my delay in ordering. The good thing is many people near town/on the main roads have access to fiber or cable internet so maybe I will get it. Right now I'm stuck with unreliable Verizon 4g.
Your explanation on supply parts and down payment seems well thought out. I think the issue is Starlink isn’t explaining it as good as you did. They need to be more accessible and forthcoming to their customers. We have the dish already and it’s been working pretty good for the 8 months we have had it. We are pretty pleased with it.

I’m in TN too and due any day now! We’re paying over $200 for a business account that’s faulty as hell rn. On the bright side the local electricity company is rolling out something called air fiber next spring… you may check with your local company and see if they offer this?

Preordered Feb 9th for service in rural Western Pennsylvania and still waiting. I Have a brother in Suffolk Virginia that preordered the same day and received his dish May 5th. Day 1 he averaged 100mb/s down but speed has been increasing over time. By the end of June his download average was up to 300mb/s. Not sure what he is currently at.

I live in the Martinsville area of Virginia. I ordered Starlink 02/14/2021. Comcast wants $15,000 to run service to my house. Viasat was $250 a month for 60GB a month. Two teenaged daughters burn that up in 10 days. Been living without internet since March 2021. Hope to receive my Starlink soon. Best video I have seen explaining what is going on, thank you

Currently on 3MB AT&T DSL that goes down multiple times a day. The town is supposed to get fiber Internet through the rural broadband initiative in the next couple of years, but my house on the edge of town isn't included in the planned initial buildout, which stops literally across the highway from my driveway.
