I recently just upgraded from my 96' zx6-r to a 2013 Triumph street triple. And I fall more in love with that bike each day. More than a year I have been eyeballing one and finally made that leap and is wondering why I never purchased it way before. Triumph!!!!
Thank you for this comparison! I was wondering for quite a while how these two stack up against each other. Nobody did this comparison except you. Bravo!
I started on 2006 gsxr 750 then an MV dealer opened a showroom in my city & when I saw the F3 I just fell in love..bought one then bought a dragster & for some reason no other bikes seems more beautiful than an MV.
You dont feel the thrill?? You surely have't ridden them! No company is as hardcore as MV when it comes to bikes. In fact, riders complain that these bikes are not for daily riding cuz they're extreme. What's super-sporty for other makers is basic-sporty by MV's standard.
A- Y ..when I went to get the dragster I took a test ride on. Brutale 675 which is the smallest bike they have & that thing scared me ..it was so light but so powerful for its size & capacity that it can't be a beginner bike no matter what..the 675 felt more powerful than any other 800cc bike in the market .. something is weird with this triple engine they do..Mv's 1000cc inline 4 feels normal but those triples are insanely shocking engines..you have to test drive one to get the idea but it's really the looks combined with those crazy engines that makes an MV so unique .
The comparison should have been: 1. Yamaha MT-09 2. Kawasaki Z900 3. Suzuki GSXS-750 4. MV Agusta Brutale 800rr 5. Triump Street Triple RS 6. Aprilia Shiver 900 7. Ducati Monster 821 But even then the Triumph would have won, I think.
rockafella1690 From the couple of superbike races I seen this year, I really like like those crossplane R1s. A Kawasaki Zx10r sounds real nice too after you let off the throttle..
Both bikes are great at its performance but the triumph is better because it has LCD display and better electronic systems but MV Agusta has no LCD display which is a little bit awkward otherwise both bikes are great
I agree also the Triumph is the better bargain with all the equipment it comes with and price it's just so darn good hard to beat and the dealer network much more prominent and you end up with a more reliable bike in the Street triple. The little things like high rear sets can always be fixed with aftermarket kits that you can lower for street and tighten up for track. Now that it has the 765cc engine you get more power and torque which is perfect for street riding and as a bonus it's faster on the track then the old Daytona 675R so what more can you ask from a naked bike! Great review guys keep it up!
You should have pitted the Brutale 800RR against the Striple RS as it makes 30 more hp than the standard 800. A Striple S it would have been a closer comparison to the standard Brutale. apples to apples, oranges to oranges
Damnit! That piece of music used on the intro has been played out! Please never again use this music on any video ever. There was a song years ago that was unofficially dubbed "The RUclips Anthem" ("Dreamscape" by 009 Sound System). I think that Alan Walker's "Faded" now has that title, in any of its incarnations. I'm not saying that it is objectively a bad piece of music, but when it get used as stock soundtrack by half the RUclips channels, it is just plain annoying as hell.
the triumph as 20 more hp and 20 less lbs, but it doesn't have a counter-rotating crankshaft like the mv...i'm amazed at how little this really rare feature of the f3 triple is mentioned
Lower spec suspension + lower pegs vs. the cheaper Triumph so performance-wise money probably better spent elsewhere. It also looks more of a Monster with a goofy exhaust. But I know the Street Triple isn't winning any beauty pageants lol
God I love these bikes specially the RS one, such an overkill equipment for the weight of the bike and cheaper than the MV, great job Triumph and great video guys.
The older '2014' MV had more HP then the new one, that's what I'm fucking talking about. The MV has more displacement than the Triumph so something gives, ya think.
Well that depends on what MV you're talking about or the Triumph for that matter. The street triple that goes to the U.S may not be the same one sold in Europe. The MV RR and dragster but out more HP as well.
Im so glad i woke up to this. And that Brutale is a gorgeous little piece of kit. Street Triple is a jack of all trades. Love them both But the Brutale all the way :')
Very nice report on those beautiful beast guys. Just a remark, when a dude is squeezing the accelerator hard while an other is speaking, it does not really help with the understanding. Those bike are gorgeous, thank you for the review lads !
I've owned a mv brutale 920 and it was a mix of brilliance and awfulness it feel half done (they spent all the 💰 on the engine and only had €20 to spent on the rest of the bike) I've ridden a speed triple and it felt polished to perfection everything was right on it.
Hello there from India :-) Pretty good review overall - 600-800 cc is the most fun yet practical category and these are the top class bikes in it. However, we would have loved to see Kawasaki Z900 and Yamaha MT09 thrown in (maybe it is called FZ09 in USA). Yes Triumph is definitely more refined, practical and easier to live with while MV Agusta is surely the choice for those who want an exotic and would not mind few quirks in that case...MV being a relatively much smaller independent manufacturer, for them probably it is harder to incorporate newer features at same pace as the bigger manufacturers - but still that MV surely lives up to the charm we always expect from anything Italian! But one should not be fooled by relatively lower initial price difference between the two. Year on year maintenance of MV will always be significantly higher. But if one can afford that - then why not!
i bought at the triumph. thought about the mv ,but after going to my nearest dealer in london england and them saying that they had sold a load of them but mv were not delivering on time, and quite a lot of customers had waited more than 6 months and still not got their bike.i decide id made the right choice
I thought the lambo guy was checking the bikes out because he was worry that they would hurt his car. Vandals are usually on motorcycles so that they can run away really fast.
The MV looks goofy to me. I rode both of these and decided on the Triumph. Easier dealer network, better suspension, fast as hell and to my eye better looking. No contest.
If you remove the chaff, Triumph Street beats the Tuono on every count and is definitely more exciting. It's just how the anchors sharing their personal preferences
You guys nailed the two bikes each like the people from their country of origin. I enjoyed the comments fair comparison but as Ido't have a Guido rule Britainia. Does The RS model have adjustment to the clutch to let the take up vary?
Eric Jarret I don't think it was just the opening... (I also don't think they have a breathalyzer on them... because even halfway through this video ,the guy... at least he's not slurring his words)
Pretty nice review as always! But you should have compared the Brutale 800RR with the Street Triple RS to have the 2 top end bikes in this category by both manufacters.
If it was for looks alone the MVs stomp the Triumphs into the ground. I´ve never ridden recent MVs, but: I´ve ridden the 2017 FZ/MT-09, that receives praise for the improved throttle response and I can´t stand that thing, because it still is no help in being fast in a controlled way! So if the MV´s flawed or at least "not so perfect" fuelling is still worth mentioning this alone is sufficient to stay off MV Agusta. I always lusted for the Speed Triple and last year stumbled over a 2010 Street R at a price I couldn´t let pass. Now I´m on that screamin little 675 mill, still long for the 1050´s torque, but: Would I accept the 30 kg weight penalty? No. Would the Speedy make me a faster or better rider? Second No. Would it make any sense to spend 13500 $ for pure Italian beauty, that is harder to ride? No way.
4K makes a huge difference
I love the way you presented these two bikes. You've touched all points that I would consider on a bike.
I recently just upgraded from my 96' zx6-r to a 2013 Triumph street triple. And I fall more in love with that bike each day. More than a year I have been eyeballing one and finally made that leap and is wondering why I never purchased it way before. Triumph!!!!

MV bikes would be gods chariots, looks wise. But as machines, you just don't feel the thrill in them.
You dont feel the thrill?? You surely have't ridden them! No company is as hardcore as MV when it comes to bikes. In fact, riders complain that these bikes are not for daily riding cuz they're extreme. What's super-sporty for other makers is basic-sporty by MV's standard.
thats because nothing is more beautiful than an MV
A- Y ..when I went to get the dragster I took a test ride on. Brutale 675 which is the smallest bike they have & that thing scared me ..it was so light but so powerful for its size & capacity that it can't be a beginner bike no matter what..the 675 felt more powerful than any other 800cc bike in the market .. something is weird with this triple engine they do..Mv's 1000cc inline 4 feels normal but those triples are insanely shocking engines..you have to test drive one to get the idea but it's really the looks combined with those crazy engines that makes an MV so unique .
Jandar Nash Aprilia brand for me is both looks and performance and a tad bit more reliable.
Finally!! A professional quality video on the new Brutale!
Ohh fuck. Not that song again
So happy you guys are actually giving conclusive results at the end of your videos now
“Would you trade your Tuono for..”
Me (one millisecond later) - “nope.”
brutale for the keepers and triple for the users..both are motorcycles..and we love each every machine on road with two wheels and a motor heart 😎😎😎
Beautiful film here guys. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for the comparison to the Tuono!
The comparison should have been:
1. Yamaha MT-09
2. Kawasaki Z900
3. Suzuki GSXS-750
4. MV Agusta Brutale 800rr
5. Triump Street Triple RS
6. Aprilia Shiver 900
7. Ducati Monster 821
But even then the Triumph would have won, I think.
D I want to see this
D Impressive list. But the title of the video - euro + triples - disqualifies most of that lineup. Your list is the topic for another video.
Ditch the gsxs and replace ut with the 790 Duke that is coming.
D heck if your gonna expand it that much, why not bring every middle weight naked? honda cb650f, bmw f800 as well
001Rupes Correct! Let's do a round up of these middleweight nakeds
The music choices of your videos make them amazing. Keep it up!
Street Triple hands down. Love my RS wouldn’t trade it for anything
Love my 2018 Triumph Street triple RS, added Rod risers and Knights foot pegs to adapt to my 6’6” height.
Triumph street triple! More refined in every way and those tft gauges...
It's too refined. And that annoying whistle, not sure if it's the intake or what..
theFourth. Horseman Yeah it's the air intake. I kinda like it.
rockafella1690 it's the genuine consensus that most people do like it.. I'm a vtwin guy eh so that's where I'm coming from with all of this
theFourth. Horseman Not a fan of an inline 4 either then?
rockafella1690 From the couple of superbike races I seen this year, I really like like those crossplane R1s. A Kawasaki Zx10r sounds real nice too after you let off the throttle..
Triumph all day long, absolutely fantastic machine.
Both bikes are great at its performance but the triumph is better because it has LCD display and better electronic systems but MV Agusta has no LCD display which is a little bit awkward otherwise both bikes are great
a little secret from MV Agusta, the brand costs 2k$
Finally I found a proper review of the new Brutale 800! IMO the most beautiful bike ever designed
You guys rock, great presentation, don't change a thing....
Finally. The video I've been waiting for.
Still loving my 2015 niner! Absolutely nothing I would replace it with!
Production quality is great good job!
been waiting for this exact shootout for ages, thanks guys! shame you didnt do the brutale RR, it is the 140 horses you mentioned :)
Thank you guys for a great review. Keep up the good job! 💪🏻
Great review guys keep it up!
Nice review, have been waiting to see a comparison of those two bikes.
You should have pitted the Brutale 800RR against the Striple RS as it makes 30 more hp than the standard 800. A Striple S it would have been a closer comparison to the standard Brutale. apples to apples, oranges to oranges
You should compare the rs to the brutale 800rr
Can you include yamaha xsr900 to compare with street triple?
Great review as always 👏🏻
The guy in the lambo was envious...Nice review gents.
Difference between these two bikes is the Triumph will live through and long past it’s warranty. The MV may not make it past its first service.
I would prefer the Triumph all day!
Nailed it! Nice work gents. Just got my mv today ^_^
in love with the RS
I know, I was like, “faded, really?” The song is so played out it is not even slightly enjoyable anymore.
The canyon is stunning, anyone know where is shot at? Thx.
the triumph as 20 more hp and 20 less lbs, but it doesn't have a counter-rotating crankshaft like the mv...i'm amazed at how little this really rare feature of the f3 triple is mentioned
how does the counter-rotating crankshaft help? Can you explain plz cuz I couldn't understand its benefit or effect!
It's not a feature, it's engineering. They didn't mention the Triumphs indicators either. So what?
Lower spec suspension + lower pegs vs. the cheaper Triumph so performance-wise money probably better spent elsewhere. It also looks more of a Monster with a goofy exhaust. But I know the Street Triple isn't winning any beauty pageants lol
It's not mentioned because it makes hardly any difference to 99.9% or riders
"Reduces gyroscopic forces" Sounds like marketing to me. Either way there would be the same amount of centrifugal force when trying to lean.
Nice review. Seems like a pretty clear victory for Triumph. . . cheaper, more powerful plus better suspension & brakes.
God I love these bikes specially the RS one, such an overkill equipment for the weight of the bike and cheaper than the MV, great job Triumph and great video guys.
It's a street tripple for me every time. Better built, reliability looks and handling. What more do you want.
What more do I want.
I want an MV.
Which road was that at the start of the video with the mountains ???
Excellent. Very Technical. I love it.
Impressive performance by the Triumph!
Probably due to the fact that Triumph isn't regulated by the Euro 4 crap otherwise the MV would probably smoke it.
The RR & the dragster are MV's.....So what are you FUCKING talking about.
The 2017 & 2018 Triumph RS is euro 4 compliant and it delivers 123 hp in Europe.
Like those rock kickstands
Im so glad i woke up to this.
And that Brutale is a gorgeous little piece of kit.
Street Triple is a jack of all trades.
Love them both
But the Brutale all the way :')
Like the Brutale but, don't appreciate the headlight choice. Double headlights and under seat storage. Thanks for posting the comparison guys!
Great job guys
What a view, excellent roads.
Had the mv .they do look the part but it was unreliable .now own the rs and its way better
What routes are these?
Id definitely take the street triple RS 💯🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice review, and even the Lambo-owner looked at the bikes :-)
0.55 omg those roads ❤ they must lead staight to heaven.
Does anyone know where the road in the beginning is?
1:21 San Dimas, insert all Bill & Ted Jokes here =>
Faded was lit👍👌
Can you guys review the Aprilia dorsoduro 900?.
great motorcycle guys!
the roads are heaven for Riders 😍😍😍
does anyone where which road that film the aerial shot at @ 0:52?
Glendora Ridge Road
Anyone know what kind of jacket Ryan is wearing?
Fabulous view out there
I want this location to add to my driving bucketlist. May I know this place?
Maybe if you get the top spec brutale...
MV Agusta is king. Quite literally. More Moto GP championships than any other brand...
Hello there from India :-) Pretty good review overall - 600-800 cc is the most fun yet practical category and these are the top class bikes in it. all this talk about practicality, and yet i would buy the MV all day long
MV all the way for me as well. The Triumph does not excite me and that's what matters for me when riding on the motorcycle.
pushed both to their absolute limit and the triumph takes it, back to back it's faster
Great, plase testing the new Monster 1200 2017. I have one, Im very happy with the bike, but I liked to see your review. Regards from Portugal
why not compare the triumph with the RR?
i bought at the triumph. thought about the mv ,but after going to my nearest dealer in london england and them saying that they had sold a load of them but mv were not delivering on time, and quite a lot of customers had waited more than 6 months and still not got their bike.i decide id made the right choice
Notice the lambo guy checking the bikes out :D 12k bike... cooler than a 250k car XD
I thought the lambo guy was checking the bikes out because he was worry that they would hurt his car. Vandals are usually on motorcycles so that they can run away really fast.
he probably thought he was going to be mugged or killed probably.at least that's how things go down in films.
What about 750 Brutale?
Can you help me on this bike?
"Yeah I have a Tuono and it reminds me that I have a Tuono. Did I tell you I have a Tuono? I rode this bike today and I was thinking about my Tuono."
It's not a fair comparison. Compare a range entry motocicleta (mv) with a top motorcycle (triumph) .
what's opening music??
I enjoyed this video, a very interesting video
I have a MT 125 Yamaha and want to get a quick shifter and auto blipper / quick downshifter but I can't find the parts PLEASE HELP
Striple all day, everyday!
Man in the alpine star's jacket looks like Paul Weller of the jam. Triumph for me.
The MV looks goofy to me. I rode both of these and decided on the Triumph. Easier dealer network, better suspension, fast as hell and to my eye better looking. No contest.
tnx
Common, on the motorcycle department triumph wins hands down. The MV sure is astonishing, but when comparing this two, that's it
If you remove the chaff, Triumph Street beats the Tuono on every count and is definitely more exciting. It's just how the anchors sharing their personal preferences
Triumph Street Triple RS wins hands down. Love this bike. Tore between my Daytona 675R or getting the 2018 Street Triple RS.
MV AUGUSTA All Day Long..No Comparison.
steering head bearing broken on MV Agusta?? 7:39
What about the Ducati Monster 821..?????
I had a dragster rr 140hp version and found it great but if I had to choose out of them two on test... It would be the triumph 765
You guys nailed the two bikes each like the people from their country of origin. I enjoyed the comments fair comparison but as Ido't have a Guido rule Britainia. Does The RS model have adjustment to the clutch to let the take up vary?
What's the song name?
Anyone else think he was high or drunk in the opening scene?
I'll go for high :P
Eric Jarret I don't think it was just the opening...
(I also don't think they have a breathalyzer on them... because even halfway through this video ,the guy... at least he's not slurring his words)
Where's this place @ 1:00 ??
Somewhere near here I believe. goo.gl/maps/i1Xfb4SgLkH2
Pretty nice review as always! But you should have compared the Brutale 800RR with the Street Triple RS to have the 2 top end bikes in this category by both manufacters.
What about the Austrian brand?
If it was for looks alone the MVs stomp the Triumphs into the ground. Guys i might be mistaken but if you're not wearing knee guards, you guys should.
Great review
Any one tell me which road it is. It looks beautiful...
Looks like Azusa, California
