    Wow, the review we've been waiting for.. Brilliantly summarized as usual Sargent!
    I loved the Street Triple 765 S. The best motorcycle in the superbike segment to buy for our Indian conditions in my view with it's plush suspension and jewel of an engine, it only inspires confidence when you ride it!
    I was hoping Triumph might bring the R version too, because it would've been the right compromise between the hardcore nature of RS and the (beginner)friendlier S. But if money is not an issue, RS is the one to go for.
    Triumph has undoubtedly taken their Street Triple benchmark several notches higher this time, and it's hard to deny that this could be the only ONE superbike you'll ever NEED!

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Saravana! The RS is surely a good bet if you want an aggressive naked bike!

  • @CWHolleman

    Having purchased a 2018 Street Triple R recently, I would recommend the R model for anyone looking for a street bike. The bike is tuned for more power/torque in the lower rev range and all the goodies that come on the RS can be added à la carte (even the tune of the engine itself if I'm not mistaken). Having previously owned a Ninja 650, Ninja 636 and a CBR1000RR..this bike is hands down the best overall motorcycle I have owned.

      For that our manufacturers have to find out talented, passionate, motivated dedicated engineers, designers and technicians give them extensive and long term training regarding metallurgy, thermal engineering, engine designing etc. Aesthetic appearance of engines is also very necessary. Our auto manufacturers should consider implementing these because our nation is moving forward and having good demand for multi cylinder engines and many of world leaders in motorcycles are setting up assembling units of their big capacity motorcycles in India. This is the right time for our aspiring youngsters and experienced engineers to get fullfill their dreams of innovation.
      Also they should be given world class remuneration also.

    Question: Is the RS better for street-use only compared to the R-version?
    I'm not planning on taking it to the track. So I worry that the RS' suspension might be a little bit too stiff for the road, and the brakes too hard. Also the torque kicks in lower on the R. What are your thoughts?

    • @powerdriftofficial
      @powerdriftofficial  4 года назад +6

    Hi Neven, I do realize that the power difference in both bikes, what throws me off is the RS is a different seating position and awkward compared to the GSXR-750. We mostly track at Chuckwalla Raceway in So. Cal. a more tech. track, 2 straights up to 130mph. A good friend of mine was a pro racer and can get both bikes within a sec. difference on that track. As I had mentioned he was top 20 in the U.S. in the 80's. After speaking to him I would never reach the level of what this bike is capable of reaching and will have to get as much track time as I can to get to higher levels. I am 67yrs. of age and know that this hinders my expectations of both bikes. Thank You for your email! Love your video's and always looking forward to future reviews!!!

      Manu Roy I've a Street 675 Dec '16 . The 2017 ones , both S and RS don't really need an arrow exhaust, their stock exhaust have enough bass. I still haven't upgraded to an arrow exhaust but my stock exhaust isn't loud enough for others (More than enough for the rider himself to enjoy the addictive high revs!). The bike used by powerdrift for the review of the 675 had an arrow exhaust.

    A request to PowerDrift!
    Can you please make a video of consolidated list of available 650cc and litre class motorcycles in India. The review covering the Good/bad, ownership cost, maintenance schedule, tyres availability and other bits. Because this space is vacant and grey area for new entrants creating a fear about ownership experience. At the end, settling down with sub 300cc bikes.
    A kind request to fulfill this space...

    can you or anyone suggest a bike that fulfills the following (budget 5-15 Lakhs):
    1. Stand out Looks (like sport super bikes & not like Bullets/Harley Bobber/speedmaster)
    2. Comfortable Handle Bar (no aggressive Riding stance)
    3. Comfortable for Pillion Rider (female)
    4. Preference : 1st : Full fair , 2nd : Naked but aggressive looks)
    5. Capable to Tour. (off road capability is not a must)
    FYI : rider at 6 feet 2 inches - Athletic Build, Pillion at 5 feet 7 Inches)
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    And what about the pathetic levels of service available in India? Triumph is letting it's Indian consumers down by horribly low standards of after sales service. That is pushing away seriously interested customers to other brands and they don't even seem to care!

      @@akshatrockportI have read and heard a lot of bad reviews about their inefficient service capabilities. Was supposedly good a few years back, now those experienced folks have left and standards have dipped, it takes several months to get spares, there are are some pretty disappointing stories about how customers have had to leave their bikes at the service shop for months together waiting for them to fix it. I have a friend who recently bought a bike there and has given a first hand account of how pathetic the service is. Check out some forums and the FB page you'll come to know more. I am also interested in the STRS but if I'm gonna invest that much money on a bike I'd expect a decent after sales spares and service support at the very least!

    • @ahmadkhan1727
      @ahmadkhan1727 4 года назад +3

      @Manny Blackstar Already bought and in love with the beast...it's a headturner the moment you take it to the road...Arrow exhaust system is the hidden beauty ...you rev it till 4000 RPM and it will give a nice exhaust sound...the moment you rev...it hard..the sound changes...and that's again one more reason for my love...last week I took it for a ride and touched 240km/hr and it was so calm..and it was not like you are riding a wild horse..the response from Brembo brakes are outstanding and the TFT display is again futuristic...the road modes and many more things...you should come Delhi and I will take you for a spin..it will change your mind 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

      Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki have still not able to find a right spot in Indian Market due to brands like Bajaj, RE.

      What I wish from Triumph is to bring a segment of Bikes that can make RE and KTM users of 350,390cc question their choices.

    I've got one of these now. It's such a brilliant bike. I actually sold a ZZR1400PS for this!!! I find the mirrors pretty vibey though at relatively slow speeds and at about 130MPH the right one moves which is quite annoying....but then maybe i shouldn't be riding that fast!
