    After testing a few nakeds including the KTM and MT 09 SP. I purchased a Street Triple RS. have done 1000 miles in the last couple of weeks around the peak district and north wales. The bike is a beauty and with the added reliability over some competitors it feels like the perfect road machine, happy on the edge of the tyres and comfy when getting to the good roads.
    Looking forward to many more fun miles over the next 4-5 years before i go for another new bike.
    Cheers for all the coverage on this bike class, these reviews have been a great help in what to look for and what to test on each bike!

    The KTM 890 Duke R is same money/ slightly more expensive with a few options like cruise/Bluetooth/heated grips/ tech pack etc - only the Yamaha and Kawasaki are cheaper… but imo they don’t compete with 890 duke r or 765RS
    I looked at both 890 duke r/765rs for my next bike and ultimately bought a new 23 765rs and Ive loved all 103 miles I’ve done on it so far whilst running it in

      The Mt09 is easily as good as the 765, I’ve had both. The 765 is more refined, easy to live with, the Mt09 more lively and aggressive. Whatever floats yer boat. KTM was great, but, too many niggles on build reliability. Yamaha was cheaper on servicing and more mpg. Still on the 765, what a bike.

    • @douglasalexander4348
      @douglasalexander4348 Год назад +1

      @@patrickrosello9583 I have the R 765. The RS 765 although it’s ohlins, is stiffer, which is why I went for the ‘R’ The Triumph R is more supple over small bumps compared with mt09, and handles just as well at speed, so 1-0 to Triumph. (And yes, I’ve adjusted the suspension on both) to get the best out of them, stock road setting on Triumph was spot on though) However, the mt09 has a stronger pulling engine, feels like it has more torque. The Triumph feels more refined, the MT09 a bit more spicy. It’s so hard to split the two, the Triumph is fantastic everywhere and everyday comfortable, the mt09 is a bit more aggressive and better for those go for it days, but either will get you smiling.

    • @DucatiDale
      @DucatiDale Год назад

      @@patrickrosello9583I tried all the mids bar the z900 the yam is the most comfy with the best engine imo ktm and triumph have better brakes and slightly better handling but its minor for a road bike the mt09 sp is the best and most fun of the lot that’s why I bought it 😂

    @Daves_Man_Cave Год назад +4

    Any difference in top end power, is easily fixed with an ECU flash from an Android device. Since 2020, the R and RS have the exact same motor, same tune, etc... The only difference is the ride by wire tables. The RS delivers 100% power when you ask it to, while the R doesn't. Fuel and ignition tables are identical, the only difference are those ride by wire tables.
    Think of it like... The R model's Sport Mode, is like the RS's Road Mode. The RS has one more, higher power mode than the R, that's it.

      @@fivespeed3026 I dunno. Ktech fork internals and rear shock are about £1500 these days for my old 2009 model and would be sprung for the riders weight. And remapping a triumph can be easily done compared to most other bikes.

      You’re still missing the brakes and master cylinder upgrades, and you won’t get the money back at resale. Probably best value to go straight for the RS,but each to their own.

      @@boyle1990 ok but now that you did that, you could have just gotten the RS. And you still voided the warranty, no matter how easy it is to do. Also, you still haven’t made the other upgrades and as someone else already stated, the resale value won’t be as high, especially when you go and make a bunch of changes.

    Getting some mixed messages here. There's the assertion that it's a street bike, a roadster, but getting a little stiff at questions like "is the seat an ass torture device" or "how far can it go on a tank of fuel." Who wants a daily rider that needs fuel every 100 miles? Was I just confused on the role the Street Triple filled in the market? If it's not as fun as an MT09, not as practical or comfortable as it used to be for street riding, and not a race replica, what is it? Great video and review anyway :D

      @anichya I'm looking into the Shrike system. I don't like big ugly brackets left on bike when bags are of, and the Shrike Mounts look to be pretty unobtrusive. I picked up the Triumph tail bag which is nice, though I will likely use a larger waterproof Wolfman bag for any longer trips.

    I don't buy the "our customers just want something simple" excuse for not having separate wheelie & traction control. It doesn't have to be complicated. It wasn't complicated on my old S1000R or my current 790 Adv (dynamic pro on the BMW and Rally mode on the KTM disable wheelie control, no crazy menu diving required). My actual guess is it's just some dumb liability reasons. It's a shame because other than some annoying things like this with the electronics package (and weird TFT displays), modern Triumphs are nearly faultless.

    For the record, triumph will NEVER allow you to switch the nannies off, and have them remain off upon keying the bike on and off. I just took my daytona to the track and almost forgot to put the abs in circuit mode (which was great btw. Bottomed out before abs could kick in 😂) a couple of times. In a day where so much is happening, this is one more thing to remember. But then, the lawyers will win this one every time. 🤷‍♂️

    Reducing fuel tank size makes no sense. Not a fan of Triumph tft dashes…just way too much clutter and finding your way through them whilst on the go is distracting and not intuitive. Less is more. Love the RS though.
